Working with Sarah was an absolute dream. Planning a beach wedding in Maine while living in Florida felt overwhelming at first, but Sarah made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She is so organized, thoughtful, and proactive! She’s truly everything you could want in a wedding planner. One of the biggest challenges we faced was finding the right beach that wouldn’t be too impacted by high tide. Sarah went above and beyond. She is local, so she was able to offer a wonderful spot and ultimately helped us secure the most beautiful, cinematic beach setting we could have ever imagined. It was perfect in every way, and our day would not have been the same without her guidance. On top of that, Sarah offered to help with anything and everything on the wedding day itself from moving chairs to paying vendors so we could just enjoy the moment. That kind of support is priceless. We are so grateful for her expertise, kindness, and dedication. Thank you, Sarah, for making our dream wedding a reality! We can’t recommend Petal & Pine highly enough.

Jenna Cavanaugh Photography

5.0

Portland, ME
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000

Natural, documentary, photojournalistic. Real, raw, candid. We’re not going for any stiff prom poses here. I like to capture the day as it is and to document it as it unfolds. I never want to force anything, but I step in and direct where needed. Being in front of the camera isn’t my favorite thing either. I will be here to guide you and prompt you the whole way, I promise.

Jenna was an absolute dream to work with. From the moment I saw her portfolio I knew I wanted her to document our wedding. I could tell that Jenna knew exactly what to capture in a wedding - the feelings and beauty of the couple’s family, friends and their love. Then after meeting her she instantly felt like a friend - which I didn’t realize how important that would be later on. During the wedding day I think we spent the most time with Jenna, and it was so comforting to have a friend with us the whole time! I trusted her to capture the important moments, and even to give me advice and touch ups, and boy did she deliver! I feel like she read my mind about every little detail. Honestly I can’t say enough good things about Jenna as a person/vendor/photographer. I can’t stop looking at our photos even 6 months later! She just captured our joy and love and turned them into beautiful works of art. We get compliments on our photos by everyone we show them to! Jenna was the best decision we made for the wedding hands down!

Champagne Casanova

5.0

Portland, ME
  • Band or Ensemble
  • Starts at $8,000

Portland, Maine based Champagne Casanova got into the music business for all of the right reasons: they love to put on a show, connect with their audience and have a great time! With their decades of combined performing and gigging experience, your event is in the right hands. Specializing in Modern Pop, '90's Alternative, Indie-Rock, Pop-Punk and Country, the band covers a wide selection of just the that songs you and your guests want to hear. When it comes to live music, live sound and a reception that will be a party to remember, they are the only call you're going to have to make.

Awarded Best of Zola
Hiring CC was one of the best wedding decisions we made! From the beginning, Dan was super responsive and clear about the band’s style, availability and price. After booking, Dan was great about answering questions and keeping in touch about song requests, timeline and other important wedding items. If you’re looking for a band that you would want to dance and sing along with at a fun bar or party, on top of being extremely talented musicians, these are your people. They also understand weddings and are willing to take on fun challenges. They took the time to successfully pull off many requests such as: - My requests and timing for the ceremony music which included acoustic renditions of Harvest Moon, With a Little Help from my Friends and Here, There, and Everywhere. They also take care of the sound systems and mic set up for the ceremony. - An amazing live rendition of Touch Me by The Doors for our reception entrance - Another amazing live rendition of Come Sail Away by Styx for our first dance which transitioned into open dance floor for all guests - Helping me pull off a surprise outfit change/re entrance into the party which included allowing me to join the band to sing Just A Girl by No Doubt. My guests had nothing but great things to say about CC and applauded their crowd work and musical talent. I also highly recommend paying to add on the sax player. They were AMAZING and added the perfect touch. Overall, Champagne Casanova is completely worth it for your wedding. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!!

Bethany and Dan Photography

5.0

Portland, ME

  • Starts at $5,400

Our first kiss was on the beach, under a star-filled sky, on my favorite island, only home to shells, bioluminescent creatures, and wild horses. Soon after, as two very young humans (21 and 23), we were married. As newlyweds we set off on an adventure, kayaking from Maine to Key West. On that trip, we realized how much we valued spending all our time together and being in charge of our schedule. This business is how we live out that dream.

We could not have imagined better photographers for our wedding day! We met them to get engagement pictures and we had so much fun- we were so worried about being awkward but they made us feel comfortable! And for the wedding day, they got the best shots and were so involved in the wedding without seeming like they were in the way. We got so many compliments on them day of and especially after seeing their work! Highly highly recommend them!!

It's hard to put into words how talented and wonderful Tess was to work with. When we first connected, I was immediately drawn to her vision, how collaborative it felt she was, and how she was willing to work with me on planning a less traditional wedding weekend. Aside from some very general direction, I really gave her creative freedom to do what she thought would be best, and then her first proposal exceeded anything I could've imagined so it was a no brainer to work with her. The year of working together was just as great as that first interaction—she is extremely organized and detailed, takes initiative to handle things that were able to be taken off of my plate, and is just clearly so passionate about what she does, and that is reflected in her work. During the wedding weekend, she and her team took on tasks that were outside of what they should've been handling, but did what they thought needed to be done to make my life easier and to make the vision come to life. I was so grateful to have her around for the weekend. But above all of that, the flowers were absolutely incredible. I can't tell you the number of people—both who were at the wedding and who weren't even there—that approached me or reached out to me to tell me they were the most gorgeous flowers that they had ever seen. There wasn't a single person who wasn't blown away by them, my husband and I included!! Long story short.. work with Tess. You won't be disappointed.

Robert was one of the BEST choices we made for our 2024 wedding! From our first phone call, we knew he was special and would help make our day amazing. His attention to detail, his go with the flow attitude, and comedic timing as an MC made our guests feel comfortable and kept them on the dance floor. We made several changes in the moment and Robert was able to execute perfectly. I can’t recommend the Toasted brew enough, I can say confidently that if I were to plan our wedding again, Robert would be my first call.

Savage Wedding Co.

5.0

Portland, ME
  • Photographer
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $5,000

Savage Wedding Co. is for couples who want their wedding to feel like themselves — not a performance, not a production, and not something they have to manage all day. I work with a balance of structure and flexibility: enough direction to keep things moving, and enough space for moments to unfold without forcing them. I don’t chase perfection or try to smooth out every edge. Some moments are quiet. Some are awkward. Some don’t fit neatly into a highlight reel — and that’s usually where the honest stuff lives. I don’t rush past those moments or reshape them to look like something else. I let things be.

Magnus was such an awesome photographer. We wanted someone who would capture both the staged and "real" moments of our special day and he did! He is also friendly and down-to-earth. There aren't many photographers who will also have casual conversations with you as well. He cared about getting to know us so he could match the vibe in his photography. He incorporated our vision for our day and captured both the large and small moments. We can't recommend him enough! Thanks Magnus!

I’m Michelle, a Portland, Maine based wedding and couples photographer. I grew up in a small town in Connecticut, spent my college years and 20s in Boston, moved to New York City with my husband and now have found my way back to New England. I worked for eight years in event planning before going full-time with my photography business. I’m grateful for those eight years because they taught me so much that I’ve carried into managing my own small business. Beyond photography, I am an avid reader, love long bike rides, prefer the Monday crosswords, enjoy woodsy day hikes, and am always finding the nearest bookstore when we travel.

Bridal By Heather

4.6

Portland, ME
  • Beauty professional
  • Starts at $500

I am a licensed Cosmetologist in two states and have been a Bridal Specialist for five years now (specializing in Luxury and Destination weddings)! Helping Brides feel like their most confident self on their big day is my Passion!

I felt so lucky to be able to work with Heather Hider for my wedding day. During wedding planning I was incredibly nervous about the make-up, because I have had almost exclusively not great experiences when having my makeup done and do not know how to do anything myself. As soon as we had our trial I was so at ease, and it was such an enormous relief going into the wedding day knowing I was in amazing hands. As a bride you have so many details to worry about and it was seriously invaluable that make-up was not one of them. I so appreciated everything Heather did to make me feel comfortable and confident. I could not even believe my makeup on the day of our wedding, and Heather had somehow made it even better than the trial (which I already loved!!). If you are a bride looking for any type of make-up, but especially brides looking for natural make-up, Heather is a dream!

We worked with Gunnar’s Hotdogs for a community Holliday Market and they were wonderful! The hotdogs are amazing, the taste is great, and the toppings take the dogs to another level with both taste, texture, and esthetic! The unique style of dogs complimented the European Christmas market vibe we were going for with the event, couldn’t recommend enough!

Hi ya’ll! I’m Nat. I’m a southerner who’s recently moved to New England. I am thrilled to be a photographer and part of making memories with you! There is something truly special about being the person who creates lasting stories to share. My love for photography began when my great grandmother gave me her point and shoot camera, and since then, I have been hooked. Some of my favorite things include espresso tonics, thunderstorms, and bookstores. As a photographer, I live for the fleeting moments of light and stories. I do my best to capture those moments with my cameras, and I find great joy in doing so.

Awarded Best of Zola
I first met Natalie on the closing night of an art exhibit she and her work were apart of. She and I ended up grabbing a coffee a few days later and talking for I don't even know how long. It's this ease that has made working with her such a joy. Nat is easy to talk to and be around. She's kind, compassionate, and real. These qualities make it easy to be in front of her camera. Not only does she care about the images she's creating, but she cares deeply about how she makes her clients feel. She's open-minded, welcoming, and inclusive. She is a safe space. Nat's style is her own, developed with a lot of intention and thoughtfulness. If you're looking for a creative who is talented, grounded, and passionate, you've found her!

I have been producing short films for 8 years. I work with couples from Maine and New England to produce and edit wedding films that tell their unique stories. My areas of practice include theatre, photography, filmmaking, and livestreaming. My favorite part of my job is collaborating with local DJs, photographers, caterers, and filmmakers!

Awarded Best of Zola
Working with this videographer was an absolute standout experience. His eye for cinematic storytelling is next level. He didn’t just capture moments, he elevated them. Every frame was intentional, every cut had purpose, and the final film felt like something you’d see on the big screen, not just in a wedding album. What impressed me most was his ability to blend artistry with authenticity. From the emotional pacing to the way he used natural light, he brought the energy of the day to life without ever feeling staged or forced. As a DJ who works with a lot of creatives, I can confidently say his talent is rare. If you’re looking for someone who will go beyond documenting your wedding and actually craft a film that feels deeply personal and visually stunning, you’ve found your guy. The work speaks for itself.

The Dapper Gents

The Dapper Gents are a folk-rock band from Portland, ME, are known for their eclectic mix of popular hits and deeper cuts, all enriched with vibrant cello solos. Available as a versatile duo, quartet, or DJ, they are the perfect choice for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions, and private parties. Serving New England and beyond. The current lineup features Jacob McCurdy on vocals and guitar, Danny Rand on cello, Stu Gurley on upright bass, and Jonathan Clement on drums and vocals. They bring a unique twist to pop, rock, and folk hits from artists such as Mumford and Sons, The Pixies, The Lumineers, and Alabama Shakes.

My fiancé and I got married at a barn venue in Dayton, Maine on 5/18 and had the Dapper Gents for our ceremony, reception and cocktail hour. We saw them in Portland and loved them right away. They were timely and responsive leading up to the wedding and carefully considered our requests. They also set up a sound system and music stand for my grandma who officiated. Their ceremony acoustic music was beautiful and the cocktail hour music was wonderful in the background. They were able to dj some special requests for first dance/ parent dances then had all our guests dancing for the reception. They really struck a balance between playing our favorites and going with what the crowd was loving- we had guests from 5 to 75 dancing all night! We cannot recommend the Gents enough, they made our reception so fun and memorable.

Hey! I'm Aimee, a film photographer based in Portland, Maine. I work primarily with film as a way of slowing down and paying attention. Film shapes my approach — intuitive and intentional — creating space for imperfection, inspiration and play. My work is grounded in documentation rather than direction. I follow what’s unfolding, offering gentle guidance only when needed, allowing the day to flow naturally.

We were looking for a more photojournalistic, slice-of-life style photographer with a bit of a vintage flair for our Maine Camp Wedding, Aimee was exactly what we were looking for! Aimee captured the joy and beauty of our day, the gorgeous scenery, and many artful shots of all of the details that made our wedding special. Aimee was organized, communicated well and thoroughly both in the lead up to the wedding and day-of. Aimee was so sweet and made us feel very comfortable, letting us lead the way, but gently guiding us when needed. Wintertide Floral

5.0

Portland, ME
  • Florist
  • Starts at $3,500

My foundation in floral design began on a small flower farm in Vermont over 10 years ago, where I immersed myself in the full lifecycle of the work—planting, harvesting, and arranging blooms directly from the field. That experience shaped my style: deeply seasonal, textural, and guided by an intuitive understanding of form and color. My aesthetic is loose and intentional, layered with luxurious texture and touched by a sense of intentional wildness. A steward of sustainable design, I avoid floral foam and plastics, and aim to use local materials wherever I can to have the lightest footprint on our planet possible.

Jenny’s florals for my wedding were an absolute dream, she completely nailed my vision within my budget and I couldn’t have gone with a better florist. Her work is stunning and I received non-stop compliments on her beautiful and unique arrangements. She totally understood my color scheme and vibe, and everything, especially the bridal bouquet, was perfection!! And to top it all off, Jenny is a wonderful and kind person to work with. 110% recommend!

They managed the set up and clean up of the space. Her team was fun and kind who worked the event too and everything went smoothly. The space was so unique splitting up into multiple spaces, many of our guests commented on how much they loved it. Can't recommend it enough for your next celebration!

My husband and I had one goal in mind when we were planning our recent wedding: we wanted everyone to have fun! There is not a better place we could have imagined for our wedding than Bayside Bowl!! From our first FaceTime to the sweet note we just got in the mail two weeks after our wedding, every step of the process was smooth and we couldn't have been in better hands than with Micaela and the entire team at Bayside. With a wedding of a little over 100 people, we got pretty much unanimous feedback that our wedding at Bayside was one of the most fun that anyone had ever attended. In truth, this is largely due to the care and ease with which Micaela managed everything! We had an absolutely stress-free wedding and felt so well-taken care of throughout the event and in the run up. You'll enjoy the tasting event where you get to sample offerings from Bayside's awesome menu before your wedding, and the food was also a hit with the guests! We couldn't have wished for a more perfect wedding weekend than the one we had at Bayside.

Hello! My name is Alice Grindling. I started out studying theatre in NYC and fell in love... with being on the OTHER side of the camera. I am a cinematographer with a passion for documentary filmmaking. I love the energy of a wedding day, the ready made environment for magic to be nurtured and captured. I am passionate about all of the details that were painstakingly planned, the magical moments that pop up that maybe, no one else can see.

Working with Alice and Trevor is like working with old friends. They are kind and supportive, but will not shy away from going in for the shot- and it shows off in their work. They capture the energy and the personality of their clients without disruption. If you're looking for videographers who will capture the candid while giving direction, giving you natural, honest results- you've found them! Cannot say enough good things about these two and everything they bring to the table!

Fortland

  • Starts at $6,000

Fortland is a ruggedly elegant, off-grid event venue and "glamping" destination located on the southern half of House Island in Portland’s Casco Bay. Accessible only by a 10-minute boat ride, it is set within the 16-acre grounds of historic Fort Scammel, a Civil War-era fortification.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Flexible event spaces
  • Offers convenient lodging options

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • On-site parking not available
  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
Fortland is truly the best wedding venue ever!! We got married there in August and it was better than we could have imagined. From the start, Ashley and Stacey were incredible to work with. Fortland isn’t a plug-and-play venue, which is part of why we chose it, but it also means having a team who really knows the island matters. They helped us think through how to use each space and shared ideas from past weddings that made our weekend feel personal and helped imagine how a wedding could work out in such a unique place. We did a full island takeover, which I would recommend if you can swing it. Our wedding parties stayed in the tents all weekend and it ended up being one of the highlights. Even friends who don’t ever camp were comfortable and fully into it immediately. Our rehearsal dinner on the overlook deck was stunning, and wrapping the night around the campfire was super fun for both us and our friends and family. On Saturday, we used every part of the island we could. The ceremony on the dock was calm and beautiful, looking out towards Fort Gorges and sailboats. Cocktail hour on the parade ground overlooking Casco Bay felt quintessentially Maine. Stefan offered an optional fort tour that a surprising number of guests loved. Dinner inside the bastion as the sun set through the stone windows was unreal. Then we had a band under the community tent and it turned into the kind of party you hope for but can’t fully plan. Every shift in location made the next part of the night feel new and exciting. The staff really makes Fortland what it is. Katrina and Stefan, the owners, care deeply about the property and about the people getting married there, and you feel that all weekend. Grace and Jo were the caretakers on the island with us all weekend and were so fun and easy to be around while also being incredibly on top of everything. If you’re looking for a traditional ballroom wedding, this isn’t that. But if you want an experience where your guests feel immersed, connected, and a little bit off the grid in the best way, Fortland is hard to beat. We'll definitely be visiting Fortland again every chance we can get.
