I've photographed weddings long enough to know where my talent lies as a photographer, and that is capturing weddings with less pomp and circumstance, more soul and intimacy. This is the space that Spike Gillespie has created at Tiny T Ranch. She is a rescuer: of animals, of a tiny chapel poised as the most perfect backdrop, of experiences that are warm and generous. If you want a wedding that is not just an event but a cherished memory, I can't recommend Spike and the Tiny T enough.

We had our wedding at Camino Real in September of 2024 and it was the most amazing day! We loved this venue. It was SO beautiful and comfortable for us and our guests. The getting ready spaces were so welcoming and had everything we could possibly need and there was plenty of space for our bridal party to get ready. Krysta was so helpful and hands on throughout the entire process- she was our coordinator through Marino Made Events as well and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with her! Absolutely LOVED having our wedding at Two Wishes! We chose the venue for the privacy and space it gave us (almost 200 people) and allowed us to bring our dog. The weather was perfect and we were able to have the reception outside. Between the beautiful barn and stunning outdoor area with dance floor/stage under twinkling lights, the night was so magical and exceeded all our expectations. The bridal suite was by far the best I had seen at any venue. It's basically it's own house with a big beautiful open room with lots of mirrors/chairs/outlets, perfect for a large group, and SO MUCH much natural light. Also has a giant porch with an amazing view and a full bathroom so we could shower. We also appreciated the flexibility of their staff and how accommodating they were. We adored the venue manager Janeen who was so kind and easygoing. They even allowed us to bring six adoptable dogs from a rescue group I volunteer with to our cocktail hour (on top of our own dog). It was so much fun and gave the rescue so much exposure. Hard to imagine many other venues that would allow this and we are so grateful!

The Milestone in Georgetown was a beautiful venue for our wedding, though their communication style could use some improvement. Star Hill Ranch

5.0

Austin, TX
  • Up to 1000 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor

Star Hill is a re-creation of a Texas Hill Country community typical of the early 1900s. All of the buildings have been relocated from around the state and carefully restored. Star Hill is centered around the historic Pontotoc Chapel, which has hosted thousands of public worship services and weddings since we opened in the beautiful Hill Country in 2004.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Provides lighting and sound
  • Wheelchair accessible

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Not for you if you're looking for a sleek and contemporary space
Not only did my wife & I get married here (twice, thanks to the covid shutdown!) & have our son baptized in Star Hill's Chapel, but I've also worked with the Star Hill family as a wedding cake vendor for over a decade. I can say without hesitation that it's my favorite venue to work with & a consistently stunning backdrop for your most special celebrations. Matt, Adam, & Renee are so easy to work with & adopt every couple into their family. They're loving & genuinely care for their clients, which is rare in such a booming industry. On top of their good character, the pricing is fair, the property offers a wide array of charming indoor & outdoor options, & they make it easy to either hand-pick each of your vendors or receive vetted recommendations from their list of preferred vendors. Our wedding guests still talk about this amazing venue 3 years later!

As a wedding photographer who helps direct my wedding couples on their special day, it's always a relief to come into a venue that is run by efficient and kind staff. Duchman Family Winery has always been great at making the bride and groom's day go as smoothly as possible. Even on rainy days, they were able to keep the outdoor ceremony site available for a last minute change, which recently worked out/giving my bride her dream outdoor wedding. Many other venues are not this flexible and expect a final decision the day before. As a photographer who wants my couples to have the best experience, it's such a relief to team up with other professionals who care about the flow and the feel at each step. Duchman Family cares about you and your family. Check it out, and see if it's a good fit for you. You'll be well taken care of and you'll enjoy a beautiful event beneath the tall Oak trees overlooking a gorgeous Texas vineyard. Cheers.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Has onsite accommodations
  • Has a dance floor for celebration

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic

We secured Cedar Break at Howard Ranch as our wedding venue on 8 June 2024. We housed 42 guests between 10 cabins, the Old Bar N, and all 5 Airstreams. We held a pre-party in the Old Barn N, which accommodated all guests downstairs and on the balcony above. We reserved the Tobacco Barn for the ceremony to include a buffet-style dinner and plenty of room for dancing afterward. Due to the heat, we rented portable AC units and fans for the barn to keep the temperature down in the Texas heat. The 3-day weekend event was a success with no issues and no complaints. The staff went above and beyond to ensure all our guests, accommodations, and the wedding ceremony were perfect. Many of our guests said they want to return to Cedar Break for a personal getaway in the Texas Hill Country again. If you are looking for a wedding venue with onsite accommodations, this is hands down the place to get!

Which Wedding Venue Types Are Most Popular in Texas?

Texas venues offer distinctly regional experiences that capture the state's diverse character. Hill Country locations around Fredericksburg give you gorgeous vineyard settings with beautiful limestone architecture and sunset views that will take your breath away. If you're considering Houston, you'll find venues that thoughtfully incorporate bayou landscapes alongside sophisticated cosmopolitan amenities. Dallas spaces tend to showcase luxury urban environments with elegant design elements that create a refined atmosphere. How Far in Advance Should You Book Your Texas Venue?

Texas couples typically book their wedding venues about 16 months (or 457 days) before their wedding date. November stands out as the most popular month for venue inquiries so planning early is essential if you're considering this timeframe. This advanced booking timeline helps you secure your preferred date since popular venues often fill their calendars far in advance especially for prime weekend dates. Booking early also allows you to lock in current pricing before annual increases that many venues implement. Plus you'll have more time to work with venue coordinators to customize floor plans and discuss details that will make your celebration uniquely yours.

Where Can You Find Accessible Wedding Venues in Texas?

Madera Estates in Conroe stands out for its commitment to accessibility with fully paved event spaces that accommodate wheelchair navigation throughout the property. You can host up to 330 guests here and the venue is frequently praised for physically walking through accessibility needs during the planning process. You'll also find excellent accessible options at Jennings Trace near Houston which offers single-level celebration spaces. Hummingbird Hill Weddings in Chappell Hill prioritizes inclusive design throughout their venue and The Preserve at Canyon Lake features wheelchair-friendly pathways connecting all major celebration areas. These venues ensure all your guests can fully participate in your special day regardless of mobility considerations.

Which Texas Wedding Venues Offer Outstanding Culinary Experiences?

The Bell Tower on 34th in Houston delivers exceptional dining experiences under Executive Chef Sergio Arellano. Venues like Agave Estates Mara Villa and The Middleton Venue in Katy specialize in creating interactive remote experiences that make distant guests feel truly present. You can work with these venues to design custom interactive elements that go beyond passive viewing. Think virtual guest books where remote attendees can leave video messages remote toasts synchronized with in-person celebrations and even coordinated dance moments. These thoughtful touches ensure everyone feels included in your celebration regardless of where they're located.
