The Oakland Scottish Rite Center was completed in 1927, with over a thousand craftsmen working on the project. The construction cost was approximately $1.5 million. This was a sizeable sum at the time equivalent to about $22 million today. From ground breaking to completion the edifice was erected in just two years. This is the second temple in Oakland built from the ground up by the Scottish Rite Masonic fraternity since 1883, when it was first chartered in Oakland.

Che Fico is an Italian Taverna in San Francisco’s Nopa neighborhood. Welcome. Built-in 1886 for William and Bertha Haas, the House is an exuberant example of Queen Anne-style architecture. The Haas and Lilienthal families occupied the house until 1973. It then went into the trust of San Francisco Heritage, a non-profit architectural and cultural preservation organization that turned it into a museum and event venue for the enjoyment of the community. In 2012, the House was designated a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

This beautiful, crescent-shaped flagstone space wraps around one entire side of the building and features a Zen-like border of Japanese maples, native plants and graceful oaks. Handcrafted ceramic urns are integrated throughout and serve as artful and calming water features. You can opt to exchange vows in front of those wooden entry doors, or take full advantage of the patio’s pièce de résistance and say “I do” beneath an asymmetrical canvas canopy. The Historic Venue provides in-kind donation of lowered cost rental of the SJWC to local community and arts groups for fund-raising events, performances and meetings. Rent the entire Historic Landmark Venue for your event, you and up to 350 guests have the use of the entire facility including the Landmark ballroom, tea room, kitchen and fireside room.

OVY Camp and Event Center is a 501c3 non-profit. Each year, we open most weekends between January-May & August-December for events like weddings. Unfortunately, we do not host any weddings June - mid-August since we host our non-profit summer camp programs during that time. All rental fees help OVY Camp bring youth to summer camp that otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity!

The Clubhouse is ideal for gatherings of up to 100 people. The building, designed by Charles E. Hodges was constructed in 1916. The Clubhouse is a lovely venue for private parties, weddings, recitals and off-site meetings. Guests enter through a charming portico on Homer Avenue into a spacious foyer. The main room is a simply designed space with grand proportions. On two sides, tall windows flood the room with light, which reflects off polished maple floors. Eight brass-and-glass fixtures are suspended from the high ceiling, and dark wood wainscoting and trim throughout add period character. This room includes a stage, framed by a red velvet curtain and illuminated by footlights. There is a grand piano available for musical accompaniment. Buffets are usually set up in the adjacent Fireside Room which is joined to the main room by folding French doors.
