Berkeley City Club is a wedding and event venue, historic hotel, restaurant & bar, and private social club located in downtown Berkeley, California. Guests will enjoy the unique architecture of this landmark building, designed by Julia Morgan. We offer multiple indoor and outdoor event spaces for your celebration, as well as in-house catering provided by Julia's Restaurant.

MICRO WEDDINGS AT BERKELEY CITY CLUB The Drawing Room is one of Berkeley City Club's architectural gems is a perfect backdrop when exchanging your vows. We offer flexible seating arrangements and access to an enchanting private courtyard. With its oversized fireplace, private courtyard, and baby grand piano, our Drawing Room is a breathtaking event space that is perfect for hosting a reception, wedding ceremony, or small concert.

Ballroom and Terrace
Our main event spaces, the Ballroom and Terrace, whose history and beauty are perfect for hosting a fabulous wedding are located on on Second Floor. Our Member's Lounge is also located on this floor. We offer flexible socially distant room arrangements that can accommodate the any wedding, along with various seating plans. With its picturesque view of the historic leaded glass arched windows and the East Courtyard below, the outdoor covered Terrace is the perfect little space on a clear day. With a fireplace, bookshelves, period furniture, and grand piano, our luxurious Members Lounge has all the Old World charm you could ever dream of for your perfect event. The Venetian Ballroom comprises our Ballroom and Venetian Room, separated by an accordion wall. With a stage, grand piano, and dance floor, this is a perfect venue for any grand event.

Perfect for that dark & moody but whimsical couple
From our first email to the final walk-out on our wedding day, Berkeley City Club's team stayed in touch and got back to us fast. They were genuinely friendly throughout the whole planning process, which made everything feel less stressful. What really impressed us was how flexible they were—nothing was too much to ask, whether it was setup, breakdown, or any last-minute changes we needed. The venue itself is stunning, and their staff made sure everything was perfect without us having to worry about the details. We felt taken care of from start to finish, and we'd absolutely recommend them to any couple looking for a venue that actually listens and delivers. We had about 45 people, and I was so worried it would be jam packed, it would be weird with spacing, but no. Literally it was such a dream and I wish I could do it again. I didnt need any decor, the space itself was so beautiful. Every room in that place is a great spot for pictures if youre into something moody. If you like old books, a little bit of gothic notes, history, fairytalesque- this is such a gem of a find. I could go on and on but Im sure whoever if reading this at this length must be really into the space. So just go see it and youll get it.

Amazing
(Review for catering/events/venue service) I don’t have enough great words for Nicole and her team at Berkeley City Club. I planned my wedding entirely “remotely” from out of state and Nicole was always ready to answer my millions of questions and make sure everything was being planned to perfection. I had actually never seen the hotel in person, and I must say the architecture, foliage, vibes, etc are better and MORE stunning in person than in photos. Truly a breathtaking venue that transports you with its historic arches, details, etc. Wedding food is often lackluster in my experience, but I was thoroughly impressed by all of the plated dinner dishes we were served. My salmon was perfectly cooked and guests complimented their meals as well. They were also able to accommodate all gluten free food as I have celiac disease, which was the cherry on top. Additionally, a special shout out to the staff who worked the event day-of. Everyone was kind with bright smiles, and treated me and everything/everyone else with care.
