I am a wife, mother, teacher, and photo & video creator. I started taking my baby's pictures with a beginner's camera and fell in love. Hi there, I am Shana Wooley and the one smiling back at you from behind the camera, helping you plan “all the things”, and standing by you on your big day. I am a native of the south (I grew up in Alabama) and I moved to Kansas City in 2012. I studied photography at Austin Peay University and started W the Studio in 2009 (which is the same year that my “tinybff” Luke was born). I met my very amazing husband, Josh, online (so no judgement here if you’ve found the love of your life on the www).

We are a team of photographers, videographers, and event planners serving the state of Missouri! We specialize in capturing the genuine moments of authentic joy in each wedding we are a part of. The rawness of emotion & human connection is what drew me into wedding and portrait photography. I am a storyteller and celebrater for the lighthearted and crazy in love. I focus on capturing authentic photographs that stand the test of time. My goal is to provide couples with one heck of an experience and images that can be cherished for a generations. One of my favorite facts about my style is that I created my own preset from scratch, and that each photo receives the dedicated time it takes to ensure that its final version is its best. The result is beautiful, sentimental photos that preserve meaningful and true-to-life moments.

Weddings are my passion, it's not the decor, or the outfits, it's the pure LOVE between my couples. It is such an honor to be a part of my couples biggest day of their lives and the beginning of their marriage. Getting to use my talent to document their connection and all the amazing moments during the day is really a dream come true.

I grew up in a divided home, literally. Splitting time between my parents after their divorce, often being in the middle of their fighting, made me grow into a very empathetic person. It’s become the biggest strength I take with me into wedding days. My documentary style stems from my ability to sense when special moments are about to happen. I am able to sense emotions that aren’t necessarily visible, sense when to come close and when to be a fly-on-the-wall, and sense what/who is important to you therefore important to photograph.
