“As the mother of the bride, I can genuinely say that my daughter's spring wedding at Smithmore Castle was nothing short of a fairytale. From the moment we arrived, the castle's grandeur and charm took our breath away. The stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains provided a picturesque backdrop that made every photo look like it was straight out of a storybook. The staff at Smithmore Castle were exceptional, attending to every detail with such care and precision that we felt like royalty. The ceremony took place in the beautiful courtyard, where the blooming flowers and elegant statues added a touch of natural beauty to the setting. The gentle sounds of the fountain in the background created a serene and magical atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the day. Inside, the reception was held in the magnificent Great Room, with its marble floors, medieval tapestries, and glittering crystal chandeliers. The three-story granite fireplace was a striking centerpiece that added warmth and a sense of history to the celebration. The castle's chefs prepared a feast that delighted all our guests, blending exquisite flavors with impeccable presentation. The highlight of the evening was when my daughter and her new husband retired to the Royal Tower View Suite. The luxurious accommodations and breathtaking views made for an unforgettable start to their new life together. Smithmore Castle exceeded all our expectations, creating memories that we will cherish forever. It was truly a fairytale wedding come to life.”

“Something Blue Mountain Venue was our first and only choice for our wedding venue. The views are breathtaking and it is like nature herself decided to give the perfect frame for every photo. The owner Lisa is wonderful and really makes it incredibly easy to show up and enjoy! She gave the best recommendations for vendors. Recent renovations even made a fully enclosed bar area perfect for sipping and staying warm in the winter. We had 35 people and it was the perfect size even though 35 was the maximum number of guests. Overall, not a chance in a million years I would prefer any other venue. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend. Thanks Lisa!”

They communicated with us every step of the way and stayed on top of all the details that mattered to us. When we sent over our inspiration and highlighted what was important for our wedding, they took it from there and made it happen perfectly. The property itself is breathtaking with so many options for the ceremony, first look photos, and reception—the house is stunning and the barn is ideal for either setting. Kelly kept us relaxed throughout the entire planning process, and Angie even helped us book our other vendors to make everything seamless. “TLDR - This is the best wedding venue I have ever been to, and I am so lucky it was the one we chose. If you're considering getting married here, DO IT! We were married at Henderson Acres on October 10, 2026, when heavy rain, wind, and chillier temperatures swept through the area. In the days leading up to our wedding, and especially that morning, I genuinely didn't know how we would pull off the outdoor wedding we'd spent so long planning. I was devastated, as I think any bride would be. But aside from marrying my husband, what I'll remember most is how incredible the team at Henderson Acres was. The staff went above and beyond despite circumstances outside anyone's control. The moment the rain stopped, they were outside moving chairs, wiping everything down, and doing everything they could so we could still have our ceremony outdoors. As I was getting my hair & makeup done, a very nice bottle of champagne was sent to the bridal suite, knowing how stressed I was about the weather. I'll let the photos we've received so far speak for themselves. It was absolutely beautiful! While our day didn't look exactly how I'd envisioned it, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who worked so hard to make it special. As someone who spent an embarrassing amount of time meticulously planning where everything would go for our cocktail hour and reception, I was especially nervous about moving everything indoors because it meant my plans went out the window. But when I saw the reception space, it was absolutely gorgeous. Somehow, the team made it all come together beautifully, all on their own, despite the last-minute changes. And I can't write this review without mentioning how stunning the venue itself is. The mountain views are breathtaking, but the house is every bit as beautiful. Every part of the property is gorgeous, and it truly feels like such a special place to get married. I don't think we had a single conversation with our guests where someone didn't mention how beautiful the venue was! We received so many compliments, and it made me happy knowing everyone else was just as blown away by Henderson Acres as we were. Our experience with Henderson Acres was wonderful long before our wedding day, too. When we booked, we lived in New Hampshire and couldn't visit in person. That meant Brett, the owner, received more texts, calls, and questions from me than I could count. He was consistently responsive, patient, accommodating, and genuinely wonderful to work with. Planning from hundreds of miles away can be stressful, but Brett made it so much easier. I also cannot say enough wonderful things about Brian and the entire team on our wedding day. From making everything come together beautifully despite the weather to the drivers who shuttled our guests from the parking lot in the pouring rain, every person played a part in making our day unforgettable. Their hard work, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile did not go unnoticed. Every couple hopes their wedding day will be perfect, and sometimes that means accepting that perfect might look different from what you imagined. Our day would have been special anywhere, but because we chose Henderson Acres, it was so much more. We got married in hurricane-like weather, and because of them, I wouldn't change a thing! I will forever be grateful to Brett, Brian, and everyone at Henderson Acres for giving us the most beautiful wedding day. I truly cannot recommend this venue enough!”

“The property is so beautiful! My wedding was April 11 so there wasn’t really any leaves on the trees yet but the view of the mountains they have is so great you don’t really need them. It was fun getting to stay for a four day weekend and enjoy time with everyone on more than just the wedding day! We were able to do the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing all outside at this venue which was what was most important to me. We rented golf carts which was very useful because of how the property is split up by a hill.”
