Nestled by a creek on 55 acres of rolling farmland, we have recently renovated our 1942 barn back to its former glory while adding a refined "Shabby Chic" style exuding charm and romance. This makes for the perfect setting to host your wedding or special event.

The Barn

Peaceful venue nestled by a creek on a small farm in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains.

Elk Shoal farm was originally a hog farm. The Gambrel-style barn was built in 1942 by our Great Grandfather. All of the lumber for the barn was cut and milled right here on the property and the barn was used to house animals and store hay until 2020 when we decided to fully restore it by giving it new life and new purpose. Since the barn already had a rustic chic vibe, we thought it would be perfect to designate some of the space that was formerly used as stalls to be converted into a Groom's Quarters. We added a leather couch, a Smart TV, gaming options, and a custom-built, high-top whiskey barrel table. A large wall-mounted clock was hung front and center, to be sure they'd make it to their ceremonies on time!

    FIVE PLUS STARS ALL THE WAY!!

    From our very first site visit, it was clear that Becca and Darren were absolute blessings from God. They are incredibly accommodating, and their expertise made our daughter’s wedding planning stress-free. If you are envisioning a rustic wedding, this barn is the perfect setting—it is stunning. We were so impressed by the variety of decorations available for use, as well as the thoughtful ceremony options, such as choosing between pews or chairs and multiple arch or cross designs. Becca’s wedding coordination services are well worth the small additional fee; she was responsive at all hours and handled every detail with care. On the wedding day itself, Becca and her family went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, which was a huge relief. Despite the summer heat on June 13, 2026, the entire day was beautiful. We are so grateful to Becca and Darrin for their kindness and their outstanding service and the friendships we made along the way. NO NEED TO LOOK ANY FURTHER, BOOK NOW!!!

    10/10 Venue!

    From the moment we started planning with The Barn at Elk Shoal Creek, Rebecca and her team made us feel like our wedding was their priority. They were excited and thoughtful in every conversation, always willing to brainstorm design ideas with us and help us bring our vision to life. When our original DJ cancelled last minute, Rebecca stepped in and helped us find a replacement so quickly that we barely missed a beat. On the day of the wedding, they handled all the setup and teardown, which took so much stress off our shoulders. What really impressed us was how affordable everything was—their all-inclusive packages meant no surprise fees or hidden costs. The Barn at Elk Shoal Creek gave us a beautiful venue and an incredible team to match, and we couldn't recommend them more highly to couples looking for an honest, caring venue.

    Best Wedding Ever!!!

    The Barn at Elk Shoal Creek was an absolutely wonderful venue for our wedding. From the moment we met Rebecca and Darren, the owners, we felt like family. They were incredibly responsive, loving, and optimistic throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is truly elegant, picturesque, and enchanting, making us feel like we were in a cottage-core daydream. Rebecca and Darren contributed their own materials as well to help us decorate, and they were always there to lend a hand and ensure everything was seamless. They even served us plates of food so we didn't have to worry about it ourselves. We were treated like royalty, and our guests raved about the beautiful setting and incredible service. We're so grateful to Rebecca, Darren, and the entire Barn at Elk Shoal Creek team for making our wedding day amazing!

    From the moment we first reached out, the staff was incredibly responsive, professional, and easy to work with. They answered all of our questions promptly and made the planning process seamless.

Alcohol is permitted and must follow the state of NC Alcohol laws and acquiring proper permits
Plenty of on-site Parking and Attendants provided with golf cart shuttle all included in cost of venue
We are a working farm and therefore fall under the category of Agri-tourism, but we do have an accessible restroom in that we put a removable ramp on the three entrance steps. Of the two restrooms we have, one of them has been designated as accessible with a handicap rail and extra spacing for wheelchair and walker if needed.
