Sidney Donaldson Photography
Rating: 5.0 (43 reviews)
New Orleans, LA
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $500

I've been shooting weddings for almost 10 years now and love every single one. The love, the joining of 2 people, and the fun of having everyone together. I strive to have every single important moment captured to remember for a lifetime.

Awarded Best of Zola
We knew from the start that our wedding would be a small, intimate affair, and we wanted a photographer who could capture the special moments without being intrusive. Sidney was absolutely perfect! Communication was a breeze. Sidney was always responsive, and they took the time to understand our vision for the day. He arrived early arrived and with an assistant and both blended seamlessly into the background. They captured candid moments of our family and friends, as well as some beautiful posed portraits. We received the sneek peak very quickly and the only "hard part" is picking from all the many photos to move on to the final gallery!

Seeing my daughter get married was already the happiest day of my life. But watching it all again through the photos and video they made, I honestly cried so much. They didn’t just capture my daughter, they captured our whole family, the looks, the hugs, the laughter. I noticed moments in the video that I had forgotten about or missed that day. Like my husband wiping his eyes during the vows, and my little niece dancing on the floor like nobody was watching. The photos are not over edited or fake looking, just BEAUTIFUL and timeless. Every detail from the flowers, the cake, to the small decorations I worked so hard on were preserved forever. The team was so calm and patient, which helped me relax too. You really don’t realize until afterwards how important this is, because these memories are all we have now. I can say without a doubt this was the BEST gift to our family.

From the moment we arrived for our rehearsal, we knew we were in extraordinary hands. The sacred, uplifting energy that radiates through the garden is palpable—it immediately puts you at ease and makes the entire celebration feel meaningful and elevated. The grounds are immaculate, and it’s clear the groundskeeping team pours real care, artistry, and intention into every inch of the space. Every single detail of our wedding day and night was handled with grace, precision, and heart. The behind-the-scenes magic, the thoughtful accommodations, and the warmth and attentiveness of every team member made the entire experience feel effortless for us as a couple. That level of excellence doesn’t just happen—and as wedding vendors ourselves, we were genuinely impressed by the caliber of professionalism, coordination, and care across the board. You run an exceptional ship. The food and bar deserve their own standing ovation. We had countless guests come up to us throughout the night saying, “This is the best wedding food I’ve ever had.” And they meant it. The quality, execution, and flavor were truly Michelin-star worthy—which is incredibly difficult to achieve on a large scale. What sets this culinary team apart is that everything is plated fresh—not banquet-style, not mass-produced. You can taste the intention in every bite. Guests were eating hot, beautifully executed food while still fully immersed in the flow and joy of the night. Karen and the coordination team were exceptional—calm, intuitive, deeply capable, and genuinely invested in making our day feel personal, joyful, and seamless. We are endlessly grateful that we ended up with your team for our big day. It truly could not have gone more wonderfully in anyone else’s hands. If you are considering this venue and team: book them without hesitation. We will be advocating for this institution forever and actively looking for reasons to work together again. We worked with Donostia for our wedding and it was incredible. The food was better than what we have at restaurants in New Orleans and completely customized to our desires. Hiring Kahlida was one of the best things we did for our wedding and our sanity. My husband and I decided to have a small wedding with immediate family, and we did all of the planning ourselves. We initially thought that we could handle the logistics of that day, but even just booking the vendors started to become overwhelming. We were also planing the wedding from out of town, which sometimes made the planning more complicated. From the moment we had our initial meeting with Kahlida, I knew that she was the coordinator for us. My husband and I are pretty laid back, so we appreciated that she was able to match our energy. She was extremely kind and organized. Working with her kept our planning on track. I also really appreciated that she took the lead on reaching out to our vendors and coordinating with them in the few weeks leading up to our wedding, which is something I know we would have been too overwhelmed to do that close to our wedding. On the actual day, everything ran smoothly. We had limited decor for our ceremony and dinner, but I was impressed by how well she was able to execute my design vision. It was the perfect day, and I know it’s because of all of Kahlida’s hard work.

Sensational Sugah

What some of you may or may not know is that I have two superpowers. During the day, I teach middle school English Language Arts. In the evenings, I turn sugar & flour into sensational works of delicious, edible art. I've been teaching for 11+ years and baking for over 40 years. Both are my passions. As much joy as I get out of teaching, baking is the icing on the cake! About 11 years ago, I turned my hobby baking into a "side hustle" that grew into a thriving business. The journey has been filled with many sweet successes. I look forward to meeting with you and becoming a part of your beautiful story.

Working with Sensational Sugah was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Her communication style was easy, quick, and detailed, which put us at ease throughout the planning process. The quality of her work and value was exceptional, going above and beyond our expectations. Sensational Sugah took the time to get to know us, ensuring that the details were perfect for our special day. We opted into a tasting in advance, and the care she took in the preparation and presentation was truly remarkable. For our nearly 100 guests Sensational Sugah created our main cake (two cake flavors with a buttercream icing), a suprise carrot groom's cake, and two smaller dessert options that truly wowed our guests!

Brandon Thorn and Adam at Crimson Quarter Weddings went above and beyond to make our wedding day seamless! One of the things that I loved right away about Brandon when I first spoke with him was his authenticity, friendliness and sense of humor. I knew immediately that he was a genuine person who really cared about getting to know me and my fiancé. As a result, we became friends pretty quickly and got to know a lot about each other beyond wedding planning-related tasks. I so appreciated this because it meant that I felt like I had an ally to help me navigate the wedding planning process. Brandon will truly support you and go to bat for you if there is a communication issue or conflict of interest with another vendor or venue. I learned as a bride that it is really important to have someone like Brandon who is there 100% looking out for your best interests. I also appreciated that while I hired Brandon as my Day-of-Coordinator, he did way more than just day-of coordinating duties, including attending meetings with my venue several months in advance. He also always answered my texts and emails quickly and communicated with me frequently. This made me feel secure knowing that Brandon really cared about me! On the day of the event, we had to move our ceremony inside due to rain, and Brandon and Adam worked hard to still ensure that the décor and other elements for the ceremony were still set up to look beautiful inside. They also worked with the venue to make some changes to the furniture layout in order to still ensure that the space was set up to make us and our guests have the best experience possible. They also did an outstanding job taking down the décor and cleaning up so that my new husband and I could enjoy our second line and afterparty without having to worry about going back to the venue to clean up. When we returned to our hotel room much later that night, all of our items, including personal items that we had left in the venue space, were all returned to us and neatly stored in our room. We really felt taken care of the entire time. On top of all of this, I really felt like the fee we paid Brandon was an excellent value for the service that we received. I compared Brandon's pricing to other Day-of Coordinators in the New Orleans area, and I can say with certainty that his prices are better that most of the competition, especially for the level of service that you will receive! I would 100% recommend Crimson Quarter Weddings to any bride, groom or individual wishing to host a party/event in the New Orleans or broader Louisiana and Mississippi area!

I am a freelance photojournalist, second generation florist + floral preservationist and seasoned wedding photographer based in New Orleans. I have this superpower that helps everyone feel comfortable getting photographed, and I capture things just as they are. Her gregarious nature helped bring everyone together, even those who didn't know each other well. She has a fun, open personality that made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and in general. Steph's work is truly captivating - her cinematic style captured all the beautiful, special moments of our day in a way that far exceeded our expectations and keeps us coming back to her. Steph was there from start to finish, seamlessly blending in to join in on the fun. She was amazing with our 5-year-old nephew, getting him to smile and engage with the process. Both for our elopement and our larger religious ceremony, we were ecstatic to have Steph as our photographer. Photography has always been a meaningful part of my life. My dad's photographs hung in my bathroom as a small child, and I often admired them. When my mom would pull down old boxes of photos, I was struck by awe with every flip. By the time I was in high school, I always had a disposable in my pocket. It was so exciting to snap those brief moments. Although I have decades of experience behind the lens, it was not until 2020 that I officially opened by business as a freelancer. I love getting to know others, and am eager to help tell your story.

We were instantly so comfortable with him, and his ease and familiarity with the city made him the perfect scout for great images. We love the pictures -- they totally captured our vibe -- and spending time with Stephen felt like hanging with a fun friend. Everything you could want!

What an absolutely fantastic band! We booked them based off of other reviews since we live out of state. We have zero regrets! We had our wedding in the French Quarter and they played our second line, our ceremony, and the entire reception! We and every single one of our guests had a blast dancing to their music. They played jazz, gospel, and even a killer hava nagila. Rob, the band leader, is also organized, responsive, and communicative, and a super nice guy. The band was also great at corralling the guests (who had never done a 2nd line) and leading them out of the venue to glorious song and music before putting on a heck of a show through the streets of the quarter. We just wish we could have danced all night long to this band’s amazing music.

Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m a lover of art, stories, and spark—the perfect alchemy to creating and capturing all those memory-making, magical moments. Weddings, to me, are about your unique narrative, your origin stories and your threads of connection; the ways in which you’ve woven a love through a tapestry of compassion and inspiration and all that makes you you— both as individuals and as a couple. That’s the fabric of the photo, the material I like to work with; because of this, my photos lean atmospheric and candid.

Awarded Best of Zola
Working with Hannah was so easy, and the photos from our wedding were exactly what I wanted. I really wanted to maximize the amount of time I spent enjoying my wedding and guests, and Hannah's style was perfect for this – we got our posed portraits done quickly, and the rest of the time she was able to capture what was actually taking place at the wedding. In terms of pre-wedding prep, we met once before I signed the contract and then again about a month before the wedding to nail down details. Hannah was very communicative throughout the whole process, and she turned around 25 beautiful pictures within a week of the wedding for us to share around. I just got 200 more pictures back, and they are stunning. Hannah is such a talent, and I highly recommend her.

Reverie & Riot
Rating: 4.3 (6 reviews)
New Orleans, LA
  • Planner

  • Starts at $5,000

There is a particular kind of evening in New Orleans — when the light goes amber and low, when the iron balconies cast their familiar shadows, and the city feels less like a place and more like a feeling you've been chasing your whole life. That is what we build toward. Reverie & Riot is a luxury celebration design studio rooted in the French Quarter. We take a small number of weddings each year. Our commissions begin at $50,000 — we share this because transparency matters from the very first conversation.

Brandon and Adam of Reverie & Riot are, without a doubt, the reason our wedding on April 4, 2026 was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, they created an experience that our guests are still talking about. SO many people told us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and I truly believe that’s a testament to their talent and execution. We had over 200 guests, what felt like a million vendors, and a full weekend of events and moving pieces. Somehow, Brandon and Adam handled it all with complete ease and professionalism. By the time the wedding weekend arrived, I didn’t have to think about anything other than getting down the aisle. One of the things we were most anxious about was the weather, especially with our second line. Not only did they have a thoughtful plan in place, but they also brought in beautiful vintage umbrellas that looked absolutely phenomenal in photos, even with the perfect weather we got lucky with. Every detail felt intentional and elevated. Brandon, Adam, and the entire Reverie & Riot team exceeded every expectation with their creativity, organization, and calm, confident presence throughout the entire process. I truly hope this is my only wedding but if I ever needed to do it again, I would hire Reverie & Riot in a heartbeat. They are simply the best.

New Aera is a New Orleans wedding photography studio led by Whit Forrester. We believe wedding photos are heirlooms — archives of the people you love, preserved for generations. With a documentary and editorial eye, we capture the candid, unscripted moments alongside the beautifully composed ones. From intimate French Quarter elopements to grand celebrations, we bring artistry and genuine care to every wedding. Our couples return to their galleries for years, sharing images that go on to other altars, other ceremonies, other lives.

Whit brings a calm and gentle personality to my wedding photography team as a second shooter. He is able to independently handle photography task and handle my clients with the up most respect and care. Creatively, Whit excels as a photographer, and I personally hire him to help me on my most precious important work days, and you should too!
