As early as possible. Scout & Company is a boutique service — we work one wedding at a time, which means we can only take one booking per date. This ensures your dog receives our complete, undivided attention on your wedding day. Because of this, dates do fill up, and we recommend reaching out as soon as your wedding date is confirmed to ensure availability.

Do you work with all breeds and sizes?

Yes. We have experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages — from small dogs to large breeds, puppies to seniors. Every dog is approached as an individual, and care is always tailored to their specific personality, energy level, and needs.

Can you care for our dog the night before or after the wedding?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many couples choose to add overnight or extended care around their wedding day, whether that means caring for your dog the evening before so you can enjoy your rehearsal dinner stress-free, or keeping them comfortable and cared for while you're celebrating into the night. Pre- and post-wedding care can be arranged as part of a customized package; just let us know what you need during your consultation.

What if my dog gets overwhelmed or anxious?

Weddings are busy, high-energy environments, and it's completely normal for dogs to feel overstimulated at times. We have a protocol in place for exactly this. If your dog shows signs of stress or anxiety, we step away from the activity and move to a quieter space where they can decompress, calm down, and feel safe and supported before rejoining the celebration. Your dog's comfort and well-being always come first.

What does a typical wedding day look like with your service?

Every wedding is different, but a typical day begins with us connecting with your dog well before the ceremony, or in many cases, your dog is already in our care ahead of the event. From there, we coordinate around your timeline, supporting your dog through key moments like the ceremony and photos, managing transitions, and providing breaks, water, and quiet time as needed. We stay in close communication with your designated point of contact so everything runs smoothly. Our goal is for your dog to feel safe and supported from start to finish, so you can be fully present on your day.

Will you coordinate with our venue and other vendors?

Yes. We work alongside your venue and vendor team as needed to make sure your dog's presence is seamlessly integrated into the day. Whether that means confirming logistics with your planner, coordinating timing with your photographer, or communicating with venue staff about pet policies, we make sure everyone is on the same page so nothing falls through the cracks.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes. Scout & Company is fully insured and bonded, so you can feel confident that your pet is in professional, responsible hands on your wedding day.

Question 8

How is the wedding pet attendant service priced?

Accepted Answer

Wedding pet attendant services start at $550 for up to 3 hours for one dog. Every wedding is different, so after our consultation, we'll put together a custom proposal based on your specific needs for the day. If everything looks good, we'll send over a contract and collect a 50% deposit to secure your date. The deposit is non-refundable.

Can you handle transportation to and from the venue?

Yes. We can arrange transportation for your dog to and from the venue as part of your wedding day package. This is something we discuss during your consultation and build into your custom proposal so everything is planned in advance.

What New Orleans venues do you work with?

Accepted Answer

We work with couples across all kinds of New Orleans wedding venues, from the French Quarter and the Garden District to City Park and beyond. We also travel to other parts of Louisiana for weddings outside the city. If you're planning a wedding in or around the area and want your dog included, we're happy to connect and discuss the logistics of your specific venue and timeline.
