Neil Ponthier was fifteen when he got his start behind the booth in 2009, filling in last minute for a middle school dance when the scheduled DJ couldn't make it. Armed with his dad's speakers and an iPod, he played the set, and never stopped. Raylynn came into the picture too, together since May 2011, married March 2026. She cheered him on at his very first events and has been his biggest supporter since. In 2012, that passion became Music and Lights Entertainment, growing from one guy and a laptop into a full team offering DJ, lighting, and AV services across New Orleans

    I traveled from Dallas to DJ a wedding in New Orleans, and Music and Lights Entertainment provided all of the DJ equipment for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Neil and Nick were outstanding! They arrived early, had everything set up and ready to go, and made the entire process completely seamless. They provided excellent audio and lighting equipment that looked amazing and performed flawlessly. Everything was truly plug-and-play, allowing me to focus on the event instead of worrying about the gear. I received so many compliments throughout the night on how great the sound system and lighting looked and sounded. Their professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail were exceptional from start to finish. If you’re looking for high-quality DJ equipment rentals and a team you can count on, I highly recommend Music and Lights Entertainment.     Neil is the truth! He’s affordable and good at his craft. You can tell he understands sound engineering. We will book again in the future. We had 2 events and he showed up on time for setup & breakdown.
