The Historic Wakefield Barn was the perfect venue for our wedding day. Their communication throughout the planning process was outstanding - Brent was so helpful and responsive, making the entire experience stress-free. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, with a unique vintage and classy feel that exceeded our expectations. They went above and beyond to make our day special, providing a beautiful custom "Savannah" hanger when we booked the venue and even arranging for horses to be part of our celebration. When it rained right after our ceremony, we were so grateful for the indoor/outdoor capabilities - the team had a seamless rain plan that allowed us to enjoy the rest of the evening indoors. We had booked this venue under another management company and I think that's a really important preface - the venue had not been managed for seven months when we arrived so of course it wasn't perfect and there were some issues. None of this was the fault of the new management, who went above and beyond to help us to have a wonderful event. The estate is VAST, there is so much room for a large luxury event here, and plenty of guest space too. It really is a beautiful place for a wedding or special event with a ton of amazing places for stunning photographs.

Having our wedding at Donovan Manor absolutely made our day what it was! I know people can be wary of venues requiring in house catering and bar, but let me sway you otherwise! First off, Donovan’s Dish was amazing and easy to work with. Ashley allowed me to amend my menu as many times as necessary in the early stages and Emma was so easy to communicate with. On wedding day, our food was not only amazing but the staff were excellent and efficient. Even down to the little details, like a staff member folding and placing napkins on guests chairs as they got up to get their food. All these little details helped our wedding feel elegant and personal. THE BAR! I cannot say enough good things about the bartenders at Donovan Manor. They were so kind, funny, and made great drinks. All of our guests complimented the staff. Ok onto the venue. It is so beautiful and truly a one of a kind venue. Many venues skimp on the grooms suite and this was a huge plus for me. Often I feel the groom gets forgotten about, so I loved to see how much effort was put into the suite. Even my now-husband commented on how nice it was to have such a large space. The bridal suite (really entire floor) is exceptional. I truly felt like a princess getting ready up there. The outdoor rose garden is stunning and the oak tree makes for wonderful photos. Having three bars is also a game changer, especially if you have a larger guest count. Everything was thought of while building the venue, even the bathrooms are gorgeous! All of guests have complimented the weekend saying how perfect it was and how amazing the venue is. Book Donovan Manor! You will have zero regrets.

When searching for a venue to host my son's rehearsal dinner I stumbled across The Carolina Estate online. I reached out to the venue and was delighted to learn I was speaking directly with Mrs. Sheila, the venue owner. From the first phone call, I immediately felt such a connection to her and her sincere kindness. I was coming from 4 hours away to have the dinner here and had no idea where to begin with catering or anything else. She was kind enough to send me a vendors list and even put me in contact with a local catering service. She never minded me calling or emailing her with questions and was always available and very knowledgeable. She sent me pics of the Opal room, which is just one of the many rooms they have available and I immediately knew that it was exactly what I was looking for. When I arrived she had the tables arranged as we had discussed and I must say the place blew me away with all of its beauty. It is located on a picturesque landscape with with a beautiful view of a large pond. The room I rented was very adequate for a rehearsal dinner and could accommodate 60 people easily. The ceiling is decorated with beautiful twinkling led lights that are breathtaking at night. The facility is immaculate. Very easy access. It was just perfect and so was the package pricing (very good pricing for such an amazing venue). I am still getting compliments about the dinner and everyone was so impressed with everything about it. If you are looking for a beautiful venue either for your wedding, reception, rehearsal dinner or any other occasion please give The Carolina Estate a chance, you won't be disappointed! Thank you for making our Night Before be something we will remember forever!

Working with Tony and Beth at Old Lystra Inn was an absolute dream from start to finish. After spending countless hours searching for the perfect venue, my husband and I knew immediately that this was the one the moment we pulled up the driveway. Tony greeted us with a late-evening tour that felt incredibly personal, not at all rushed—and it set the tone for everything that followed. The property itself is breathtaking. The grounds are impeccably maintained and filled with charm, and so much is included in the rental package—tent, dance floor, chairs, tables, and more—which made planning far less stressful. It was a huge relief not having to coordinate all those big logistics separately. Beth and Tony were a constant source of support leading up to the big day. Whether it was a quick stop by to walk the grounds, a late-night email, or one of our many questions (and there were a lot!), they always made time for us. We never felt like “just another couple” in a long wedding season. Instead, they made us feel like our day truly mattered—like we were getting married in a place that had heart and soul, not just beautiful scenery. On the day itself, Tony was everywhere—behind the scenes making things happen and helping everything flow effortlessly. We can’t overstate how much that meant to us. Thanks to his quiet dedication, we were able to be fully present and just enjoy the day. We are endlessly grateful to have had our wedding at Old Lystra Inn. It was the best day of our lives, and Tony and Beth played such a meaningful role in making that possible. We can’t wait for the day we get to return as guests and relive the magic from a different perspective. Highly, highly recommend!
