The Lounge

Warm and inviting

The Maxwell's dramatic features are carried on throughout the Lounge, which is the perfect room for indoor cocktail hours and receptions. Neutral in color scheme, our airy Lounge is an inviting space for guests to mingle. The space features a 16' herringbone oak wood accent wall, made from a 123 year oak tree that was on the property when it was cleared to build the venue. The wall is a true statement, adding warmth and a romantic touch to the otherwise elegant and modern space.

A charming outdoor space designed to feel like a Southern Estate and garden

Guests can enjoy fresh air from the comfort of our outdoor patio and lawn. Take advantage of our lawn for ceremonies and photos. The warm glow from our French Quarter gas lanterns adds a touch of Southern charm, making this area our favorite place to sip on a cocktail! Complete with market lights this serene space has a multitude of uses. The property is very secluded and surrounded by lush greenery, creating the perfect backdrop for your day.

    Amazing Experience!

    The Maxwell was the perfect blank canvas for our wedding day. From our first conversations with their team, everything felt straightforward and welcoming—they answered our questions quickly and kept us organized throughout the planning process. Maddie, our coordinator, was truly incredible and handled every detail so well that we didn't have to worry about a thing on the day itself. The space gave us complete freedom to design the celebration exactly how we wanted it, and their staff made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. We loved having that open venue to work with, and Maddie's support made the entire experience stress-free. We'd recommend The Maxwell to any couple looking for a flexible space with a team that actually cares about making your day special.

    Loved our wedding at The Maxwell!

    The folks at The Maxwell are so professional and great to work with, and we had the best experience at our wedding in May! Special thank you to Maddie Peeler who is an absolute gem!     The Maxwell is the BEST! (and LGBTQ friendly)

    We absolutely loved working with Maddie and The Maxwell staff. From the beginning, their communication style was highly responsive and proactive, which was so helpful as we planned our day. The venue itself was like a beautiful, clean white canvas that allowed us to personalize it to our vision. Maddie was amazing - she was timely in her responses and willing to help with any ideas or out of the box things we had planned for the day. She put the flowers on our cake, look at how amazing it turned out!! And the best part as an LGBTQ couple is that not once did we feel othered or judged, we were treated like queens! We couldn't have asked for a better venue and staff to make our special day perfect.

    Beautiful venue

    The Maxwell was the perfect venue for our wedding day. From the very beginning, their communication was efficient, reliable, and extremely helpful. The staff were all very friendly, and Maddie in particular was wonderful to work with, helping us with our bar menu with and bar signs. My planner Tova was equally incredible! The Maxwell has a great preferred list for their vendors. The venue itself is simply gorgeous - a true luxury space that was incredibly convenient for our guests. The Maxwell exceeded our expectations in every way, and we couldn't be happier with how our special day turned out. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a stunning, high-quality space for their wedding.

The Maxwell offers ample parking on site for even the largest events! Shuttle buses and limousines may park on site during events as well. Being only a 4 mile ride from Downtown, we encourage guests to use Uber, Lyft or another taxi service.
We offer a list of exclusive caterers for you to choose from allowing you to create a menu specific to your preferences and budget. All caterers must be on our exclusive list. The Maxwell has an on-site warming kitchen with parking in the back of the building for trucks and utility vehicles. Drop and go catering is not permitted for weddings.
The Maxwell holds an ABC liquor permit prior to opening and therefore all alcoholic beverages must be purchased through The Maxwell as well as handled and served exclusively by The Maxwell bar staff. We offer a variety of packages and options to best fit your needs.
We understand there is much to be done that day! In order to allow ample time for set up, access to the venue is given at 11:00am. We have a large dressing suite available and included in our rental rate for you to get ready in. Depending on our event schedule, access the day prior may not be available.
You can absolutely hold a ceremony on site! We have a number of stunning indoor and outdoor settings for your ceremony. We do not charge an additional ceremony fee, however, please note that in order to keep our chairs clean and in great shape for all events, our chairs may not be used outdoors. For ceremony rehearsals, you'll have access the day prior depending on our event schedule.
