The Stockroom at 230 is a special events and wedding venue nestled on Fayetteville Street in the center of downtown Raleigh. On the second floor of the Carolina Trust Building, a charming blend of exposed brick, warm hardwood floors, lofty lattice ceilings laced with market lighting, and beams of natural light craft an atmosphere exceptional for any occasion. With an adaptable aesthetic that can be either enhanced with great accents or transformed with bespoke design concepts, The Stockroom at 230 is ideal for weddings, ceremonies, reception celebrations, speaking engagements, corporate meetings/events, and holiday gatherings.

    Stockroom 230 is the BEST Raleigh Wedding Venue!

    Stockroom 230 is amazing!!!! We loved everything about the space and staff. Our wedding was amazing. Imani was amazing to work with - she was kind, professional, and always quick to respond to our questions and concerns. We highly suggest stockroom 230 for your wedding!!!

    Stunning

    The Stockroom at 230 was perfect. Compared to the other weddings I saw in their catalog, mine was minimalist. (I left many decorations) It was beautiful regardless. They are great with organizing floor plans. They designed one for me where there was no need for a room change. That brick and wood floor look is nice, but the bridal suite was such a bonus. My sisters and I had a grand time up there. It has a nice view and easy to decorate for your theme though it's not necessary. The groom's suite isn't as large, but more than sufficient. My husband and groomsmen enjoyed themselves there. I didn't get a food plan nor did they force it on me. I love that. I could see a Stockroom staff member at all times. Additionally there was security. There were no hiccups, but I got married St. Patrick's Day Weekend. My wedding was beautiful.

The Stockroom at 230 comfortably seats 50-175 guests for seated reception with a dance floor. We can accommodate larger guests counts if you are interested in a standing/cocktail-style reception. Please ask for details!
All couples must secure a planner/coordinator for their wedding with us. The Wedding Coordinators on our Preferred Vendor List are hand-picked by our team as those who are familiar with our venue and continue to provide excellent service to our couples. For this reason, we do recommend that you select from this specially curated list; you may opt for full-service planning, partial-planning packages, or what is known as event management/”day-of” coordination. If you would prefer to hire a planner of your own choosing, you are welcome to do so, provided the planner has a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) and is approved in advance.
Yes! Most of our weddings at The Stockroom at 230 involve use of the majority of the venue for both ceremony and reception. In this case we would do a room flip, where the ceremony is changed over into the reception setup during the cocktail hour. Your caterer is responsible for placing the tables and chairs and setting up the food service and your Wedding Coordinator is responsible for the decor during the flip. This flip is easily completed during the cocktail hour time.
The landing area of the venue can accommodate up to 120 guests during cocktail hour. However, if you have over 120 guests and/or you would prefer for guests to not be in the venue during the flip, we advise sending guests for a cocktail hour at a nearby location on Fayetteville Street. We are happy to provide recommendations.

Yes! We celebrate all types of love at The Stockroom at 230.
Yes, we have two dressing suites: The Glass Box and The Lounge. The Glass Box is located on the fifth floor with stunning views of the city. The Lounge offers a relaxed atmosphere and is adjacent to The Stockroom. Access to The Glass Box and The Lounge is included in your rental of The Stockroom at 230 unless otherwise noted.
You may go through your caterer for alcoholic beverages and service, or you may choose to provide your own alcoholic beverages and have your caterer supply a bartender to serve it. If your event involves liquor/cocktails, you will need to apply for a “Limited Special Occasion Permit” from the North Carolina ABC Commission. All alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, cocktails) must be served by a licensed and insured bartender as provided by the caterers on our Preferred Vendor List.
Candles with live flames are permissible if they are in a container, the flame does not extend over the lip of the container, and they are not left unattended. An increasingly popular option is LED candles, which can provide stunning ambiance without the worry or hassle of live flames. To preserve the integrity of the space, we kindly ask that you abide by a few decor restrictions. No tape or nails may be used to affix items to walls. Glitter, confetti, birdseed, and loose feathers are not allowed. No smoke nor fog machines may be used in the venue.
We recommend guests park in one of the nearby parking decks, all within two blocks of the venue: Moore Square, Wilmington Station, or Alexander Square. Although limited, street parking is also available.
A perk of being in the heart of Downtown Raleigh is that we are within a few blocks of several hotels!
