Facilities and Capacity BLC is a conveniently located venue and sits just two and a half hours from New York City and Boston. In addition, it is centrally situated in the Berkshire Region. Couples can begin their day by exchanging vows alongside the lapping shores of Lake Ashmere followed by a reception under a tent. Then, as the sun sets and night settles in, festivities can resume around the warm flicker of a campfire.

The Ruins at Sassafras Museum is the home of the former Shaker Second Family on Mount Lebanon. (See our reviews on Google.) We call ourselves a boutique museum because unlike other Shaker Museums that replicate the past, we have interpreted the past and creatively restored each location on the property. You can have your ceremony in the ruins of an English garden, the stone foundation of a barn alongside a meandering creek, or under a willow tree overlooking our pond. An active trustee of the Eastern States Exposition and chairwoman of the Home Department, she dreamed of moving the handicraft exhibit to an actual home on-site – a building with its own kitchen!
