“Working with Hovey Entertainment was such a smooth experience from start to finish. Eric himself responded to every question we had quickly and knew exactly what we needed to make our day special. When you hire Eric, you actually get Eric. From the first call to the wedding day it’s always him you’re talking to and working with. No surprises! What really stood out was how his photobooth attendant went above and beyond. She overheard me crying to my best friend before our grand entrance that our coordinator had completely forgotten to set out the empty chair we'd set aside for my dad. He passed before the wedding and no attention was given to that beyond important detail. She left the booth, went and hunted it down, and then personally made sure it was positioned just right and set up with his name and reserved sign by the bar which meant the world to me. It wasn’t even her job but she sprung to action without even thinking and fixed it. When I apologized for crying to her about it she put her hand on my shoulder and told me she completely understood in a way that just made me feel like she actually got how important that was for me. She was amazing. The entertainment itself was stellar and felt exactly like what we'd envisioned for our wedding. We barely had to do any work. Eric did it all. All we told him was the vibe, some favorites, and songs for specific moments. He nailed it all. Eric's professionalism and attention to detail made everything run seamlessly, and honestly, we'd hire him again and again without hesitation. If you're looking for a DJ that truly cares about getting it right, Hovey Entertainment is the way to go. We did uplighting, photobooth, and full day DJ services. 100% worth what we paid. Quotes were higher for Eric than others, but not by much and I promise you’re paying for the professionalism, work ethic, and knowledge it’s going to be perfect with the actual person you hired. He’s worth the few extra hundred. Our venue even reached out to us after and told us how impressed they were with Eric. I hope he made it onto their preferred list. He deserves it! Extra Info: - You can design your own photo booth strip like we did! - No extra cost for his extra help! - LGBT Friendly! - Photobooth comes with the prints and a digital album - Won’t play music on your no play list - Can use your own photobooth backdrop like we did! - Knows when to stop a song and blend into the next - You can design your front of booth photo/slide show - Has multiple set ups so isn’t moving them from spot to spot all night - it’s already set up! - You can use his digital photo album for guests to upload photos instead of buying your own! “John was so wonderful to work with! He did the DJ & MC services for our wedding reception party in September. He covered everything we could need with his questionnaire and helped us consider things we hadn't thought of. We had quite a mix of music genres to incorporate and I feel like it was executed flawlessly. We did a mix of EDM, pop, country, classics, piano mixes - I heard all of my must plays during the evening and I couldn't keep myself off the dancefloor. It was just such an amazing time. “Jay came highly recommended to us because of two other family members that had hired him for their weddings. From the start, Jay was incredibly kind, supportive, completely on top of every little detail and just really helpful throughout the process. When we had to postpone our May 2020 wedding because of Covid, and then changed our August 2020 rescheduled wedding to more of an elopement with 17 people, he was really flexible and supportive and and just wanted to help in whatever way he could. Our wedding weekend turned out to be a little extra stressful and he was calm and professional the entire time. The timing and edits of the music all turned out perfectly and he does an awesome job as the Master of Ceremonies. We wish we could have seen Jay shine with a huge dance party because we knew it would have been epic, but honestly, he shined in the ways you want any wedding vendor of yours to shine: he acted like a friend who was going to be there for you no matter what. I cannot recommend him enough and thank him for being such an amazing vendor and person!”

He was the most amazing DJ for our wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens, and all of our friends and family have been saying so since we got married. Well, DJ Carbon not only understood it, but he took great care to personalize the music for our wedding. “We loved having the Jonny Mogambo band play for us. The performed classical and good acoustic music for the ceremony and had added a great vibe for the cocktail hour. Jonny helped us with all the announcements during our reception and his band was incredible! They played an amazing mix of music, had the dance floor packed all night and put on a great show. It was more like being at a great concert than at a wedding! The musicians in this band are amazing players. All my family and friends had so much fun with this band. The Jonny Mogambo band was incredible.”

The Downtown Collective Band was established in 2016 as just a couple of guys who wanted to jam out in the attic. We started by getting some small gigs here and there doing hybrid DJ/live music performances. Then we found friends from music school at UNL that played instruments and made the jam bigger and got more gigs. Now we are known as one of the top bands in the Midwest. We love playing live music because you get a much more authentic experience with people actually playing instruments and connecting with the crowd!
