Whether it’s confirming the reception layout, discussing our room block, or checking in on small details, the Hotel Alpenrock team has made everything feel stress-free and exciting. It’s such a relief knowing we have a team behind us that truly cares about making our day perfect, and we are so excited for our guests to experience the level of service and care that we have during our wedding weekend in September. We had an exceptional experience working with Vail Resorts for our couple's wedding at The 10th, and can confidently say that much of the event's success was due to the incredible team - especially Abigael, the event manager. From our first conversation, Abby was responsive, professional and incredibly accommodating. She consistently went above and beyond to make sure every detail was executed flawlessly and that our clients (and the entire vendor team!) were happy. Not to mention, the venue on top of the mountain is absolutely STUNNING. Our clients and their guests were blown away by both the views and hospitality. Piney River Ranch

5.0

Vail, CO
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $14,000

Piney River Ranch is open and accessible from June 21st through the last Saturday in September, and is one of Colorado’s prime wedding destinations. Beneath the Gore Range, one of Colorado’s most beautiful mountain vistas, we can accommodate up to 200 people in our wedding and event space. With two custom log pavilions, and a ceremony deck that boasts mountain views guaranteed to take your breath away, it’s no wonder couples from all over the country come here to say “I do.” The ranch is complete with six guest cabins, three glamping tents and an on-site restaurant and bar as the perfect place to entertain your guests.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Rustic yet refined style
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • On-site parking not available
I wanted to pass on to others our experience using Piney River Ranch as the venue for the marriage of our daughter this past July. Monique and her staff at Piney River Ranch bent over backwards from beginning to the end to help us plan and execute this once-in-a-lifetime event for our daughter. They were always available to answer our questions and to adjust their services to meet our needs. In other words, they provided the kind of personalized customer service that seems to be getting harder and harder to find these days. The result was a virtually perfect wedding day (and rehearsal the prior morning) from beginning to end. Piney River Ranch is located about 12 miles north of Vail at the end of a Forest Service dirt road. While that doesn't sound very far, the road is rough. It takes about 40 minutes to drive that 12 miles from Vail. That results in some logistical challenges but it is well worth the effort and in fact enhances the feeling of arriving at someplace special. It's not until actually arriving at the ranch that the spectacular mountain backdrop rising up behind Piney Lake suddenly reveals itself, and when it does, it virtually overwhelms the senses. I'm not aware of any other venue that combines the kind of jaw-dropping scenery Piney River Ranch possesses with the convenience of having all the facilities needed for a wedding ceremony and reception. I would describe the ranch as having a sort of rustic elegance which exactly fits with the nature of its location. Our wedding was sized at approximately 150 people and the facility was able to comfortably accommodate that number. While it is theoretically possible for the ranch to accommodate up to 200 for weddings, I suspect things will start feeling crowded and the layout will get more challenging if the number gets too much above 150. The ranch has a number of cabins and glam tents along the lake that can be booked. It worked out well for us to utilize one of the cabins as a base for the groom’s party and one of the glam tents for the bride’s party. For smaller weddings, there are a couple of small rooms off of the main reception area that can be utilized for that purpose. Because of the logistical challenge the road to the ranch presents, I would recommend using vendors with previous experience there as they will understand what adjustments they need to make to their operations in order for everything to proceed smoothly. The ranch maintains a list of recommended vendors which proved helpful. In our case, we used Timberline tours for transporting wedding guests from Vail to Piney River Ranch and back. Piney River Ranch works with a local catering company, Cowboy Catering out of Gypsum and the food and service they provided were outstanding. We also utilized Event Rents out of Gypsum for glass water goblets and cloth napkins. In summary, I would highly recommend Piney River Ranch for a wedding. It will provide a unique once-in-a-lifetime type experience for all of your guests, not to mention the bride and groom. I can’t tell you how many people came up to us afterwards to tell us how much they enjoyed it and what an amazing experience it was for them. While the location does present some logistical challenges, Monique and her staff are there to guide you through every step of the process to give you the end result you are looking for.

Our experience at Mountain View Ranch was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very beginning, the staff made planning effortless and enjoyable. Every email we sent was answered promptly, usually within a day, and their planning website was intuitive, flexible, and easy to use. One of the best parts of the process was attending the Extravaganza. It gave us the chance to meet vendors, connect with the staff, and sample a variety of delicious food. Every vendor recommended by the venue was professional, responsive, and a joy to work with. On our wedding day, the Mountain View Ranch team exceeded every expectation. We are deeply grateful to Mikayla, Callie, Hunter, Mindy, Andrea, Tess, Kaylee, Nate, Christy, Jess, Tyler, and Sebastian for making the day magical. But the biggest thanks goes to Abby, our coordinator. She brought laughter and joy to the planning process, kept everything seamless on the big day, and ensured we had everything we needed at every moment. Thanks to her, our stress melted away, and we could fully enjoy the celebration. Abby truly feels like part of our family now. Between the breathtaking views, the incredible staff, and the flawless execution, our wedding at Mountain View Ranch was more than we could have ever dreamed of. We wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a place that combines natural beauty with unmatched professionalism.

Our wedding at Granby Ranch was a dream come true. The venue is simply gorgeous with its picturesque mountain views and quaint, nature-filled setting. Jennifer and her team were so responsive, thoughtful, and quick in all of our communications leading up to the big day. We collaborated to create a custom bar package that gave our guests plenty of drink varieties to enjoy. On the wedding day, Jennifer and staff flawlessly executed everything we had planned together. My husband and I knew we wanted an intimate wedding with less than 20 guests. It was extremely challenging to find a venue that could host both the ceremony and reception that wasn't designed to fit over 100 guests and at the same time was elegant. Then we found Juniper. It was exactly what we were looking for and it was a bonus that it was close enough to Denver so our out of state guests didn't have to drive too far after a full day of travel. Alea and Ashley (the owners) are great to work with and were extremely accommodating and flexible with what we wanted to do. After the wedding our parents were raving about both of them. The venue itself is SO beautiful and we cannot wait to come back and stay at the hotel for our future anniversaries.

I could not be more thrilled and impressed with the quality of service during our wedding celebration from the staff at Mount Vernon Canyon Club. It was top notch starting from our initial communication with Barbara to the servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Barbara made sure that we were taken care of from the moment we showed up to the moment we left. She made us feel calm and took care of everything that needed taking care of without us having to remind her. She even boxed up all of the leftover food for us that we were too anxious to eat (all of which was absolutely delicious). The view is spectacular from the deck and after some initial rain and lightning, we were even blessed with a double rainbow! As a wedding venue, Mount Vernon is a perfect 10/10.

Our daughter's September wedding at Bison Peak Lodge at Puma Hills was amazing! The venue is a unique and beautiful location. We used their on-site chef and the food was delicious! It was really cool for the guests to stay in tents and wagons as well as the lodge. Planning with the staff was not as easy and organized as expected but overall, the event was a success. I would recommend using at least a "day of" wedding planner for this location to work with the staff. We were on our own and found it to be a little unorganized. Overall, it was great, and we would recommend this for your special day!

We were able to utilize the west rooftop for our ceremony which was the perfect backdrop to our wedding. Our family and friends enjoyed their stay here as well. The rooms are clean and modern but feel homey and comfortable. Breakfast was great and a nice amenity to have. We were surprised by champagne in our room when we arrived. Getting married at The Rose was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The venue itself is breathtaking.. it has so much history, character, and charm. It’s not just a place to host a wedding, it’s an experience. Many of our guests couldn’t stop talking about how unique and stunning the setting was, and how perfectly located it is. From the moment we walked in, it felt like the kind of place where memories live forever. The staff made the entire experience seamless. Everyone was kind, attentive, and on top of everything from the very beginning. We chose the Mexican buffet for dinner, and it was absolutely phenomenal.. our guests raved about it all night long. The bar service was also outstanding. Every bartender went above and beyond, keeping drinks full and energy high throughout the entire night. But as incredible as the venue and staff were, the absolute best part of our entire experience was Patrica. I don’t even know if words can do justice to who she is and what she did for us. I have never met someone so hardworking, caring, and genuinely passionate about their work. Her communication is extraordinary.. she doesn’t just keep you in the loop, she makes you feel completely supported and understood every step of the way. From day one, Patricia was there for us in every single detail: walkthroughs, tastings, worksheets, endless questions.. you name it, she handled it with grace and precision. She is incredibly detailed and organized, and because of her, we never once felt the “wedding stress” that everyone warns you about. She made planning feel easy, enjoyable, and even fun. By the month of our wedding, we literally had nothing left to do, because Patricia had made sure everything was already taken care of. That sense of calm she gave us was priceless. Our family and wedding party were blown away at the rehearsal, we spent the whole night talking about how impressed we were with Patricia. And when the wedding day came, it was effortless. We didn’t worry about a single thing. Even our DJ and photographer kept telling us how incredible Patricia was and how much easier she made things for them too. She not only ensured our vision came to life, she made the entire day flow beautifully for everyone involved. Patrica is so much more than a coordinator or a vendor to us.. she has truly become a friend. We are endlessly grateful for her and everything she has done. It’s honestly bittersweet because while we’re so thankful, we know we will miss her deeply. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Patricia, for making our wedding not only beautiful but also stress-free and full of joy. You are truly one of a kind, and we will never forget everything you did for us.

Our ceremony and reception were at the Manor House on November 30, 2025. We valued the flexibility to have our ceremony indoors or outdoors. Although our dream scenario was to be outside with the epic views and vistas, the weather did not cooperate, and we had to move inside. But, the good news is that you can do that -- no problem -- and, it was seamless and arguably just as uniquely romantic and memorable. Manor House guides you through the entire process and provides coordinator services as part of your package. We met with several different folks as we progressed from planning to the wedding itself, and everyone was professional and knowledgeable. That said, Katie was our coordinator, and she did a wonderful job guiding us to make well-informed decisions that truly delivered our vision for a perfect day we "heart" Katie.  I've lived in the area for 13 years, and I had no idea this place existed. What a shame. It's a hidden treasure. Go visit. Meet the staff. Attend a tasting. If you want a classy, elevated experience that is right here in metro-Denver but feels like you somehow transported to a place like the Stanley in Estes, Manor House is the place for you!
