La Jolla Woman’s Club is located in the heart of La Jolla Village, one block from the ocean. A bridal lounge is available for the bride & her court prior to the ceremony. The Cottage can accommodate up to 80 people in the chapel for the ceremony & on the patio for the reception. Our location offers privacy but is also conveniently located less than 10 miles from the city of Temecula, CA. In 2021 our daughter got married on the estate. We had guests from all over, and the event was a huge success. We had so many positive responses, and requests for other weddings, that we decided to open our doors to the public. Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. Later on, Wood would operate B&L Liquor on the main street. The remains of W's garage are still very apparent on the property today, along with his goat shed & stables. We have one of the last intact water towers in the historic district. The property has been preserved to reflect the period in which it was built.
