La Jolla Woman’s Club is located in the heart of La Jolla Village, one block from the ocean. With its exquisite private gardens, historic Irving Gill building and ocean view, the club is a magical setting for any special occasion. The club hosts private events such as weddings, non-profit fundraisers, receptions, lectures, dinners, holiday parties, celebrations of life, retreats and educational meetings.

La Jolla Woman's Club

Our club is a magical setting for any special occasion.

The South ceremony garden is charming, filled with colorful plantings and an arch that can be decorated. The front ceremony garden has a choice of facing the European-style fountain or the old English oak tree. The North arbor-covered terrace with its ocean view is popular for the cocktail hour. Many couples choose to walk to the ocean for photos while guests are enjoying cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres, returning to the club in time to make their grand entrance. Inside the clubhouse, the main ballroom has hardwood floors for dancing and it’s own raised built-in stage for band or DJ. The ballroom has two adjacent parlors opening onto it that can be used to increase seating capacity, or for buffet.

    My husband and I got married here in November 2023 and it was a truly incredible experience. I feel like the La Jolla Women’s club is a hidden gem. I had a lot of family and friends coming from out of town and La Jolla is a great part of San Diego for them to come to and stay for the weekend. The venue is close to everything and has a beautiful charm. It is simple and elegant, allowing us to dress it up as we wanted. Our photographer was able to get some incredible photos because the venue has so many nooks and crannies with slightly different feels. The front lawn in particular, has a gorgeous tree (we got married in front of it) and a beautiful fountain in the other end. There are courtyards on either aide of the main building and then the dance floor/dinning room is in the main building. One of the things that is so great about it is that your guests can come to one venue and experience the whole wedding event, just moving around the venue. Also we had a lot of choice about where things happened (the ceremony in front of the tree and our cocktail hour in a specific courtyard). We chose to do dinner inside, but outside could have been an option. Erin, the Events Manager is great to work with! Communicative and provided us solid recommendations for other vendors. I would love to see other people I know get married here!

    I would get married here every day! We don't live too far away so we love driving by and reminiscing about the best day of our lives. They were very communicative and super easy to plan with. Considering this is in La Jolla, the price was also very affordable and they had a great list of vendors that they recommend. I wouldn't have changed a thing about our wedding day and very happy with the venue. We had the ceremony in the garden area, cocktail hour outside on the patio, and the reception indoors. It was early April so we were happy to have both options inside or outside, with last minute changes if necessary, as we weren't sure if it was going to be raining.
