“This lady is a god damned delight. Early in the planning process, my mother died and it totally sapped me of any appetite for planning. I felt overwhelmed, but when we hired Sarah she helped us turn it all around. She held our hands through the hard part and then helped us stay on task and organized when our energy and excitement came back. She helped us navigate being out of the country for 3 of the six months prior to the wedding. She already had experience and relationships with most of our vendors, which helped those contracts go more smoothly and meant less management from us was required. She was 100% ready to get behind any project we could come up with — she supported our vision like it was her own. Whenever I asked her to find someone who could bring an idea to life, she always did so quickly and often with options to choose from. Her depth of connections meant that when I needed a new photographer with just six weeks to go, she was able to give me at least ten available and talented options in 24 hours. She is a wedding planner pro. Most importantly, she is just a lot of FUN and FUNNY. We enjoyed spending time with her on our monthly check in calls, at tastings, walk throughs, and finally the weekend of the wedding itself. She’s a joyful, quirky, nonjudgmental person who really loves weddings and helping couples have the day of their dreams. She is an LGBTQ affirming vendor which is obviously very important to us as a queer couple. She was extremely RESPONSIVE to all communication and I don’t think I ever waited more than 24 hours to hear back from her. Her planning expertise prior to the actual weekend was invaluable, but she really was our angel during the wedding weekend. Food: Booking with Union Mills gave us the freedom to create the food experience we truly wanted. We went with a Filipino-inspired menu that combined many of our favorite dishes, and Niko was incredibly knowledgeable about different cultural cuisines. He offered wonderful selections and made the process so enjoyable. The pizza options were endless and allowed us to get creative as well! Drinks: The drinks were out of this world. We loved the variety of drink and beer options they provided. We really appreciated that they went the extra mile to source specific beers we requested — even getting one of our favorites on tap just for us! Location: The location of Union Mills is unbeatable. Its walkability to downtown Frederick and nearby bars was one of the main reasons we chose it. Since many of our guests were traveling from out of state or even out of the country, we wanted them to experience the true charm of Frederick, Maryland. Union Mills offered the perfect accessibility for our guests both before and after the wedding. Parking: Mary and Niko provided detailed maps to help our guests find parking easily. There’s plenty of parking available around Union Mills, and they were able to reserve a limited number of spots for us, which was so helpful. Communication: Mary and Niko were always responsive and easy to reach, whether by text or email. From our experience, they replied very quickly via text, which was perfect for quick questions. For more detailed inquiries about logistics or planning, email communication worked great. Their responsiveness made the planning process smooth and stress-free. Suggestions: The only thing we would have appreciated was a more streamlined way to receive quotes and itemized details. One of our other vendors used an event management app called A Perfect Venue, which made tracking and organizing everything really easy. Besides that, we were completely happy with everything Union Mills had to offer! Overall, we highly recommend working with Union Mills — you won’t regret it. We had such a wonderful, unforgettable experience! Thank you for your creativity, your thoughtful menu suggestions, and for executing everything so perfectly. “Your vendors will truly shape the energy of your wedding, and our experience with Alex from the Dapper DJs is a perfect example of this. From the beginning, Alex was so easy to work with and made the planning process so much fun. He was so enthusiastic about our day and our music choices and felt more like a friend than just a wedding vendor! We were looking for a very specific energy with our DJ and wanted to stay away from the typical over the top cheesiness. Alex could not have been more of a fit for our day. He had such relaxed energy and his entire set up was so in line with the feel of our wedding. We had a very vintage inspired day and his vintage set up and suitcases were such a great addition to the reception room. Caboose Farm is a beautiful, rustic wedding venue located in Sabillasville, Maryland (just north of Frederick, MD) that blends beautiful scenery with convenient accommodations. Located in close proximity to Baltimore; Washington, D.C.; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the venue offers a charming 220-acre space with access to attractions such as golf, wineries, and hiking. “We looked at so many videographers and watched so many wedding videos. Livvy’s style was exactly what we were looking for. She was super responsive and easy to work with from day one, and her packages were incredibly reasonable. When we met to do our love story, Livvy was fun and made sure we were both comfortable. She gave great direction so we never felt awkward. She really was an incredible hype girl the whole time, which made us feel even more comfortable about being in front of a camera. I’m pretty sure she got us our love story in around 24 hours (benefits of the off season!) I cry every time I watch it. I’m just in awe of her artistry…the questions she asked us and the way she wove our answers together tells our story so beautifully….it’s truly something we will treasure forever. On our wedding day, Livvy was awesome. She really was a ninja in getting her shots, because after our couples portraits, I didn’t even see her until she was getting ready to leave! We got our teaser trailer pretty quickly, and we got our full video not long after that, and every time we watch it, we notice another subtle detail that just blows us away (one of my favorite details is how when I mentioned our dog in my vows, she overlaid video of us with our dog before the ceremony). When we got our motion book (which is another fantastic bonus of booking Livvy!), the screen was cracked, but we contacted Livvy and she had a replacement ordered and sent in like 24 hours! We can’t say enough great things about Livvy. If you are on the fence about hiring a videographer–just do it, and hire Livvy if you can. You will not regret it.”

I ordered my bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres from Brook Hill Flowers, but got 2 DIY boxes of flowers from Wegman's in Frederick. However, my BFFs who helped me organize and decorate my wedding (at my home) were all thumbs the morning of and needed help putting all the vases together. When Jessica came to drop off the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres, she asked if there was anything she could help with and my MOH ran over and asked for her help. I was upstairs starting my beautification and when I came down the stairs towards my dad to walk down the aisle, I was blown away seeing how beautiful my home looked! Thank You, Jessica!!”

The trial we did beforehand was extremely helpful to visualize the look I wanted for the big day, and were extremely responsive to feedback for tweaks and adjustments. When more people than I originally thought wanted to join hair and makeup services close to the big day, they were (thankfully for me!) able to add an additional artist last minute. I wish I lived closer to their salon so I could go there more often for more everyday occasions! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for wedding HMU services.”
