“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

“Our event went absolutely flawlessly with Billy and Jason at the helm. He was not only our DJ, but our lighting guy, pyrotechnics (with the cold sparks), MC, and day-of coordinator. “We had a great time working with Rian. We really loved Rian's passion for music. We provided a list of songs for Rian and he did a great job curating the music and his additions worked very well. His mixing was smooth and clean! Our wedding venue was in a remote location and Rian was able to provide equipment for three separate sites with only one site being indoors with outlets. Rian was also responsive and clear during our email correspondences prior to the wedding. He was on time and his setup occurred without a hitch.”

His expertise in event conduction and his ability to smile in the face of chaos kept everything organized and on track, even when the weather threw us a curveball. He helped redirect guests seamlessly when we had to adjust the schedule due to high winds and rain. His musical selections were spot on, providing great background music during dinner and keeping guests engaged on the dancefloor with an intuitive mix of songs we requested along with well-timed classics. Zacch went above and beyond by playing music late into the night after being informed by the camp hosts that he would need to spend the night at the venue due to an atmospheric river and downed trees blocking the road. He kept the party going as late as he could and afterwards spent time chatting fireside as the night wound down. Zacch has a charisma that keeps even your most ornery guests engaged and well behaved. “The Afterparty Band and their Duo was one of the best choices we made for our wedding of 100 people! The Duo also set a great ambiance to our outdoor Cocktail Hour. Now, our guests are still talking about how much fun they had dancing and singing along with the band all night. We loved the visuals with lighting, dancing, costume changes, and props. My husband and I couldn’t find time to leave the dance floor because their compilations just flow from one to the next. At first I thought our party would be too small for an 8-piece band at the reception, but they were the perfect addition to build up the crowd and keep everyone together on the dance floor. They even came into the crowd to sing and play instruments to stir up enthusiasm. My only regret was not having more time to chat with our guests for longer because we simply couldn’t peel ourselves off the dance floor. Tristan and Jeff are so responsive, and they were able to work with both me and my wedding coordinators directly to take some of the logistics off my plate. It was also very fun working with the band for all requests. They learned our first dance song so quickly and even sent me a sample of a shortened version of the song to practice to with my husband. They are a wonderful band for any kind of event, large or small, that you want your guests dancing all night with happy hearts.”

The uplights they brought for the room were priced very well and created a beautiful atmosphere. The music planning worksheet they provided was incredibly helpful, and they offered valuable advice on the timeline and flow of the reception, which was a huge help. They were fun to work with, and on the night of the wedding, they absolutely crushed it. The music was fantastic, they kept the vibes high, and their crowd engagement was excellent. We highly recommend The Hook Club for any event. They made our wedding unforgettable!”
