“We did not use The Knott to find this venue but we had such an amazing experience we had to share. The venue itself, the first thing you see is a modern foodhall / full bar with a large variety of restaurants. If youre staying at the hotel connected, it was such a great place to hangout with your bridal parties before everything starts. Moving along to the even areas, the ceremony room gives off a modern barn yard style venue and it's such a pleasant contrast from what you initially see when first walking in which really adds to the "wow" factor when entering the room. The cocktail hour area is amazing as well and after we gifted some of our items, they will now have Cornhole and a beer cart available! The area itself is wide open with great seating areas as well. The reception is another instance where the contrast is such a difference from the food hall downstairs, it once again adds so much to that jsw drop reaction. We were approached multiple times complementing how "cool" this venue was and it was definitely a true compliment. Now the venue wouldn't be anywhere with out the staff and I can not say enough great things about them. The entire time was courteous, professional and really give they sense that they want to make sure you have your special day as one to remember. Specifically wanted to shout out our amazing coordinator - Brianna, banquet captain - Lee j and Dj - Rhy's. These three went above and beyond for us and it seemed like that was just their normal demeanor. Brianna made sure we had nothing to worry about and made every part of the planning process a breeze. Lee J was also always checking in appropriately often to ensure we were never left wanting, thirsty or hungry. Rhy's was also great to work with, we had a very specific request with music which ended up having my wife and I take part in a lightsaber fight to two different versions of starwars music - Duel of the Fates, and he handled it masterfully. All in all, 10/10 can not recommend enough.”

“The Secret Garden At Rancho Santa Fe was an absolute dream venue for our wedding! This venue came with the best team and I would 10000% recommend them to anyone looking for a seamless experience and beautiful wedding. Kendra did our initial tour and did a great job laying everything out on the table so there wouldn’t be any surprises. We could not believe everything that was included and the value- but it truly is an all inclusive experience. Mary was great with communication and answered all of my questions (even the really silly ones). On the day of, the quality of their work was truly amazing - they executed my vision perfectly, with every detail thoughtfully considered. Tammy, Ellen, and Brian who were our incredible photo/video team, went above and beyond to make us feel at ease and ensure we had a fun, memorable experience. Last but certainly not least - Laura was our coordinator and she was absolutely EPIC. She played such a huge role throughout the process and relieved so much of my stress through multiple meetings and emails. She made sure everything was perfect the day of, kept me calm (which is not easy to do) and was an absolute gem. She is truly one of a kind and the absolute best - I could not have asked for a better coordinator. We have two venues: *The Island -- Lake Cuyamaca has a scenic, natural site suitable for small outdoor weddings. Venue is rented for 6 daylight hours. Tables & chairs are not included.  *Ole Firehouse -- The Firehouse is a newly renovated former fire station with a 40' x 60' event room, the perfect space for both weddings and receptions. Amenities include: the venue room, a full kitchen, two restrooms, an outdoor patio area, a large, shaded deck, and an upstairs bridal dressing room/loft space. It has a 80-person indoor capacity with the Firehouse bay doors closed & a 100-person capacity when they are open. “We had our wedding at The Ole Firehouse at Lake Cuyamaca, and it was truly everything we hoped for and more. If you're looking for a rustic, intimate venue with beautiful nature vibes, this place is hard to beat. The lake views created such a peaceful and scenic backdrop—our guests are still talking about it. One of the best parts of booking this venue was having the space for the entire weekend. We had Friday to set everything up, celebrated on Saturday, and then had Sunday to tear down without feeling rushed at all. That alone made the whole experience so much less stressful. Kelly, the venue coordinator, was amazing to work with. She communicated clearly throughout the process and made sure everything ran smoothly on the big day. Having someone reliable and organized like her made a huge difference—we were actually able to relax and enjoy our wedding. Another huge bonus was being able to rent the lakefront cabins for our stay. It made the whole weekend feel even more special and gave us extra time with our family and friends in such a beautiful setting. We genuinely had no issues from start to finish. Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. Later on, Wood would operate B&L Liquor on the main street. The remains of W's garage are still very apparent on the property today, along with his goat shed & stables. We have one of the last intact water towers in the historic district. The property has been preserved to reflect the period in which it was built. This beautiful venue sits atop a picturesque knoll overlooking the historic town of Julian. Sherry Horton, owner of Oakwood Creek Celebrations, offers signature style that everyone—no matter their affair—will find "oh so easy". Growing up in rural Ohio, Sherry brings the style of country that is reminiscent of simpler gracious time, learning from her grandmother Emma Barrett of all things romantically beautiful. “The Oakwood Creek Celebrations staff were a joy to work with! I am so grateful that the staff customized a great package for our wedding day, with very short notice. Our Officiant Rev Hannah Wilder, performed a beautiful ceremony by the koi pond. The location is gorgeous, and the staff made us feel as if we were family. Every detail of our wedding was beautifully done, making the entire experience amazing and completely stress free. A million thanks to our wedding coordinator Sherry, who went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and even took photos for us, since we didn't have a photographer. Our wedding was better than anything I dreamed of!”

“Gorgeous and peaceful location, perfect for a celebration of any kind. I booked Meyer Hall at the Lakeside Community Center for an engagement party in March 2026 for 95 guests (max capacity is 250). They also offer smaller rooms for groups of 30 to 90. I loved the spacious layout of Meyer Hall, which is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen. You can decorate however you like, provided you don't attach anything to the walls/ceiling or use open flames, confetti, or rice. We used tablecloths, flowers, LED votives, and small candies, which elevated the space to a classy, elegant, wedding-like feel. There is also plenty of free parking just a short walk from the hall, making it easy to navigate for guests in heels or those using strollers and wheelchairs. The Logistics: The 4-hour rental (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM) automatically included two additional hours for setup and one hour for breakdown. I added tables, chairs, a stage, and multimedia equipment to my reservation. A security guard was required, along with a catering fee and a cleaning deposit. I did not rent the kitchen, as our caterers handled everything on the patio. The total came to 1,510, which I found very reasonable and affordable. I was also pleased to see the security deposit returned to my credit card less than a week later. My main contact, Michelle, was incredibly kind and professional throughout the entire planning process. Pro-Tips for Planning: Insurance: You’ll need one-day event insurance (I used Markel for 75). Note that providing alcohol requires additional coverage and potentially an extra security guard. The Tour: You must tour the space with a staff member at least 45 days before your event and prior to booking. Since this is a busy community center, tours are only offered on very specific days/times. Breakdown: The rental requires you to clear, wipe, and stack all furniture, take trash to the dumpster, and sweep/mop. This wasn't a problem for us, but it’s an important detail if you’re planning a formal wedding! The Highlights: My favorite feature was the view of the beautiful lake and local birds. The A/C worked perfectly, which was a huge relief during a recent heat wave. Our dessert vendor, Cabetos Pops, served guests on the patio starting at 6:30 PM. This coincided perfectly with "golden hour," making for a truly magical moment. While the lakefront is open to the public, our area still felt private and secluded. We also had Taquizas José cater delicious tacos on the patio; our guests raved about the food! (I highly recommend checking out their Yelp pages for my full 5-star reviews). Minor Hiccup: The only subpar aspect was the multimedia setup. The Bluetooth speakers didn’t work for about half the party. I had scheduled a time two weeks prior to test the equipment, and the battery was dead even then. My fiancé and I had curated a thoughtful playlist, so it was disappointing the device wasn't charged. To their credit, the staff worked hard to resolve it and ensured it functioned once charged. My suggestion: Kindly and clearly remind the staff to charge the speakers a few days before your event. All in all, I really enjoyed hosting our friends and family here and would not hesitate to book again. They are undergoing some construction this year which may affect lake views, so just check with the staff before booking.”

“We had our wedding here on June 6th and it was absolutely everything we hoped for and more :) What made Mt. Woodson perfect for us: - highly professional and friendly staff from our first tour to the day and communication afterwards, special shout-out to our day-of coordinator Jessica and Derek & Kelsey who worked with us while planning - Stunning outdoor and indoor venue, so you can have the ceremony & dinner outside and then switch inside for the party and dessert. Bonus: in the worst case of bad weather you still have a fantastic place for your wedding instead of a back-up tent solution. And you can go until 11pm while other venues limit the party to 10pm. - Amy's Closet is filled with items to use free of charge and they allow DIY flowers/decor which was important to me since I am artistic and wanted to give my wedding a personal touch. Only thing you have to do is assign a person resposible for set-up & take down but our day-of coordinator was so sweet to lend a hand too. - Food was fantastic! We opted for 2 carving stations & buffet style dinner but they also offered plated menus for our guests with dietary restrictions. Our guests were complimenting the food and many went back for seconds and vegan & vegetarian guests were happy with their plates too. Plus: you get to take home the delicous left-overs- they even packed a beautiful to-go plate separately for the bride & groom. - Plenty of parking with option to leave the car over night. Just beware that Ramona is a bit remote so it is not quite as easy to catch a ride, so preordering transportation makes sense. There is some stairs and uneven paths but myself as a bride and all other guests in heels were getting around just fine and also our older guests had no complaints. They were also very accomodating of my brother who is in a wheel chair and they had bathrooms that were accessible for him. Thank you again to the whole Mt.Woodson staff for the BEST experience ever!”

“Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center is the best kept secret and absolute jewel of a location for an event. I had my wedding here and you have access to the whole building, terrace, movie theater and amphitheater. It was a JOY working with Janet (operations manager). Perfect venue for amazing views and unique setting great for nature lovers. Maybe the best part is that what you pay to rent the facility goes to the MTRP Foundation to support the park- it's like making a donation! We loved that so much.
