About this venue
We have two venues: *The Island -- Lake Cuyamaca has a scenic, natural site suitable for small outdoor weddings. Venue is rented for 6 daylight hours. Tables & chairs are not included. *Ole Firehouse -- The Firehouse is a newly renovated former fire station with a 40' x 60' event room, the perfect space for both weddings and receptions. Amenities include: the venue room, a full kitchen, two restrooms, an outdoor patio area, a large, shaded deck, and an upstairs bridal dressing room/loft space. It has a 80-person indoor capacity with the Firehouse bay doors closed & a 100-person capacity when they are open. We'd love to give you a tour of our unique locations & are committed to doing all we can to help you make this a memorable day!

Known as "The Island", a peaceful, scenic, natural site located in the mountains of Julian, CA around 4800 feet elevation within Lake Cuyamaca Recreation and Park District, it is a beautiful space to hold a small wedding. We offer a 20% discount on cabin rentals with a signed event contract! We will place a hold on the requested cabin(s) you select for you and/or your guests. Full payment is due 45 days prior to event date.

Amazing Wedding Venue
We had our wedding at The Ole Firehouse at Lake Cuyamaca, and it was truly everything we hoped for and more. If you're looking for a rustic, intimate venue with beautiful nature vibes, this place is hard to beat. The lake views created such a peaceful and scenic backdrop—our guests are still talking about it. One of the best parts of booking this venue was having the space for the entire weekend. We had Friday to set everything up, celebrated on Saturday, and then had Sunday to tear down without feeling rushed at all. That alone made the whole experience so much less stressful. Kelly, the venue coordinator, was amazing to work with. She communicated clearly throughout the process and made sure everything ran smoothly on the big day. Having someone reliable and organized like her made a huge difference—we were actually able to relax and enjoy our wedding. Another huge bonus was being able to rent the lakefront cabins for our stay. It made the whole weekend feel even more special and gave us extra time with our family and friends in such a beautiful setting. We genuinely had no issues from start to finish. If you're considering this venue, I highly recommend it—it’s the perfect mix of scenic, relaxed, and well-coordinated.

Amazing!!
From the moment we started planning, Kelly at Lake Cuyamaca Recreation & Park District made everything straightforward and simple. She was quick to schedule our venue tour and stayed available whenever we had questions throughout the entire process. What really set them apart was the extended access to the space—having it from 12:00 PM the day before our wedding through 12:00 PM the day after took so much stress out of setup and breakdown. Kelly's vendor recommendations were incredibly helpful too, and we were thrilled with both the pricing and caliber of the businesses she connected us with. The whole experience felt seamless from start to finish, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to work with. Every guest was thrilled with our choice, and couldn't stop talking about how beautiful everything was. I have already recommended them to 3 different people!

Hidden Wedding Venue Gem at Lake Cuyamaca!
The Lake Cuyamaca and Ole Firehouse wedding venue is an absolute must for any outdoor lovers! I have camped, hiked and backpacked the Cuyamaca Recreation & Park District many times, but when I learned that they offer a space for weddings that's affordable, we didn't look anywhere else. We just booked it. Kelly Little (the event coordinator) is incredible! She is friendly, helpful and quick to respond to any questions you have. We got married on October 31, 2025. The weather was perfect, and the fall colors even more stunning! Something that is so special about this venue is that it's secluded. Besides a few geese (paid actors) in the background, it's quiet and romantic. We especially liked being able to DIY everything and set up the reception just how we wanted, because it was available for set up the day before, and clean up the day after. The perfect amount of time, for the perfect amount of . A special thanks to Kelly and the rangers who helped with a few logistics that came up on the day of 3 I highly recommend this amazing venue!

The best for a DIY bride
Lake Cuyamaca is special to my husband and I so when I found out we could get married there we were so excited! I had always wanted a DIY feeling wedding and since this venue allowed for it I was able to let my creativity run wild and I love that my wedding had all the personal touches that you dont get in a typical package wedding. It was a lot of work but you couldn't beat the space and the Ceremony and reception were beautiful and very cost effective! I loved my wedding and this venue.

Our Wedding Day At The Lake and Ole Firehouse
Our wedding at the Lake Cuyamaca Recreation & Park District was an absolute dream come true. From the moment we first reached out, the venue coordinator Kelly Little was incredibly friendly, kind, welcoming, informative, and helpful throughout the entire planning process. The beautiful, intimate, rustic setting of the Ole Firehouse venue provided the perfect backdrop for our special day, and the flexible time they gave us to prepare and set up our reception decor was greatly appreciated.
