We did not use The Knott to find this venue but we had such an amazing experience we had to share. The venue itself, the first thing you see is a modern foodhall / full bar with a large variety of restaurants. If youre staying at the hotel connected, it was such a great place to hangout with your bridal parties before everything starts. Moving along to the even areas, the ceremony room gives off a modern barn yard style venue and it's such a pleasant contrast from what you initially see when first walking in which really adds to the "wow" factor when entering the room. The cocktail hour area is amazing as well and after we gifted some of our items, they will now have Cornhole and a beer cart available! The area itself is wide open with great seating areas as well. The reception is another instance where the contrast is such a difference from the food hall downstairs, it once again adds so much to that jsw drop reaction. We were approached multiple times complementing how "cool" this venue was and it was definitely a true compliment. Now the venue wouldn't be anywhere with out the staff and I can not say enough great things about them. The entire time was courteous, professional and really give they sense that they want to make sure you have your special day as one to remember. Specifically wanted to shout out our amazing coordinator - Brianna, banquet captain - Lee j and Dj - Rhy's. These three went above and beyond for us and it seemed like that was just their normal demeanor. Brianna made sure we had nothing to worry about and made every part of the planning process a breeze. Lee J was also always checking in appropriately often to ensure we were never left wanting, thirsty or hungry. Rhy's was also great to work with, we had a very specific request with music which ended up having my wife and I take part in a lightsaber fight to two different versions of starwars music - Duel of the Fates, and he handled it masterfully. All in all, 10/10 can not recommend enough.

Celebrating my 50th birthday at Headquarters by Wedgewood Weddings was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived until the very last guest departed, every detail was executed with such grace, professionalism, and genuine care. It wasn’t just a party—it was an unforgettable experience that my family and friends will be talking about for years to come. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking! The ambiance is sophisticated yet warm, creating the perfect setting for an elegant celebration. Located in the heart of downtown San Diego, it’s incredibly convenient and just steps away from everything, making it the ideal destination for both local guests and those traveling into town. The food was exceptional—beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The bar service was equally impressive, with attentive bartenders and perfectly crafted drinks throughout the evening. Every aspect of the event felt effortless because the team had thought of everything. The true stars of the evening, however, were the extraordinary people who brought it all to life. My deepest gratitude goes to Emma, Nat, Jasmine, Jahn, Kendra, Perfecto and Sam. Each of you played such an important role in making my milestone celebration feel so special. Your warmth, attention to every detail, genuine hospitality, and commitment to excellence made us feel completely cared for from beginning to end. You anticipated every need before we even had to ask and made every guest feel welcomed and celebrated. That level of service is rare, and I will never forget it. If you’re looking for a venue that combines timeless elegance, an incredible downtown San Diego location, outstanding cuisine, exceptional bar service, and a team that truly cares about making your event unforgettable, Headquarters by Wedgewood Weddings is simply the best. The Secret Garden was the perfect venue for our group of 105 guests in May. It has an intimate feel, but still feels open and welcoming. The flowers were in bloom and the grass was very green. The coordination team did an amazing job accommodating all of our set-up requests and took great care of us on the day of. We are very pleased with everything and loved the preferred caterer and DJ that were part of the all-inclusive package. Overall we found this venue to be one of the more affordable options, especially given you bring in your own alcohol/drinks and can take home what’s leftover. This saved us at least 50/person. The surrounding area and city of Rancho Santa Fe are gorgeous. Parking was easy and all our guests loved the venue.

County of San Diego: Department of Parks and Recreation
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
Lakeside, CA
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor

Saying ‘I do’? Choose your ceremony and reception to be held inside the Lakeside Community Center, or take advantage of the natural beauty and host your special day in the outdoors. Lindo Lake is one of San Diego's few natural lakes that provide a scenic backdrop for ceremonies and receptions.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Lush gardens
  • Provides lighting and sound

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • No free parking
  • Not wheelchair accessible
Gorgeous and peaceful location, perfect for a celebration of any kind. I booked Meyer Hall at the Lakeside Community Center for an engagement party in March 2026 for 95 guests (max capacity is 250). They also offer smaller rooms for groups of 30 to 90. I loved the spacious layout of Meyer Hall, which is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen. You can decorate however you like, provided you don't attach anything to the walls/ceiling or use open flames, confetti, or rice. We used tablecloths, flowers, LED votives, and small candies, which elevated the space to a classy, elegant, wedding-like feel. There is also plenty of free parking just a short walk from the hall, making it easy to navigate for guests in heels or those using strollers and wheelchairs. The Logistics: The 4-hour rental (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM) automatically included two additional hours for setup and one hour for breakdown. I added tables, chairs, a stage, and multimedia equipment to my reservation. A security guard was required, along with a catering fee and a cleaning deposit. I did not rent the kitchen, as our caterers handled everything on the patio. The total came to 1,510, which I found very reasonable and affordable. I was also pleased to see the security deposit returned to my credit card less than a week later. My main contact, Michelle, was incredibly kind and professional throughout the entire planning process. Pro-Tips for Planning: Insurance: You’ll need one-day event insurance (I used Markel for 75). Note that providing alcohol requires additional coverage and potentially an extra security guard. The Tour: You must tour the space with a staff member at least 45 days before your event and prior to booking. Since this is a busy community center, tours are only offered on very specific days/times. Breakdown: The rental requires you to clear, wipe, and stack all furniture, take trash to the dumpster, and sweep/mop. This wasn't a problem for us, but it’s an important detail if you’re planning a formal wedding! The Highlights: My favorite feature was the view of the beautiful lake and local birds. The A/C worked perfectly, which was a huge relief during a recent heat wave. Our dessert vendor, Cabetos Pops, served guests on the patio starting at 6:30 PM. This coincided perfectly with "golden hour," making for a truly magical moment. While the lakefront is open to the public, our area still felt private and secluded. We also had Taquizas José cater delicious tacos on the patio; our guests raved about the food! (I highly recommend checking out their Yelp pages for my full 5-star reviews). Minor Hiccup: The only subpar aspect was the multimedia setup. The Bluetooth speakers didn’t work for about half the party. I had scheduled a time two weeks prior to test the equipment, and the battery was dead even then. My fiancé and I had curated a thoughtful playlist, so it was disappointing the device wasn't charged. To their credit, the staff worked hard to resolve it and ensured it functioned once charged. My suggestion: Kindly and clearly remind the staff to charge the speakers a few days before your event. All in all, I really enjoyed hosting our friends and family here and would not hesitate to book again. They are undergoing some construction this year which may affect lake views, so just check with the staff before booking.

Mt. Woodson Castle by Wedgewood Weddings
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
Ramona, CA
  • Up to 250 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $12,000

Perched in the rolling hills of Ramona, California, Mt. Woodson Castle is one of Southern California's most extraordinary wedding destinations, where old-world grandeur meets the untamed beauty of the San Diego backcountry. Built as a private dream home by dress designer Amy Strong, construction began in 1909 and culminated in 1920 as a stunning embodiment of the American Craftsman Movement. Amy personally selected stones from the slopes of Mt. Woodson, building with eucalyptus, oak, and redwood harvested on-site. No chalk lines were used, leaving uneven floors and rooflines that give the castle its irreplaceable soul. The 12,000-square-foot, 27-room masterpiece features 4-foot-thick walls, four fireplaces, and an eclectic identity blending European, Medieval, Mesoamerican, Mediterranean, and East Asian influences, crowned by a working windmill. Just 40 minutes from downtown San Diego — unlike anywhere else in Southern California.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Accommodates more than 200 guests
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Dance floor not included
  • Lighting and sound are not included
We had our wedding here on June 6th and it was absolutely everything we hoped for and more :) What made Mt. Woodson perfect for us: - highly professional and friendly staff from our first tour to the day and communication afterwards, special shout-out to our day-of coordinator Jessica and Derek & Kelsey who worked with us while planning - Stunning outdoor and indoor venue, so you can have the ceremony & dinner outside and then switch inside for the party and dessert. Bonus: in the worst case of bad weather you still have a fantastic place for your wedding instead of a back-up tent solution. And you can go until 11pm while other venues limit the party to 10pm. - Amy's Closet is filled with items to use free of charge and they allow DIY flowers/decor which was important to me since I am artistic and wanted to give my wedding a personal touch. Only thing you have to do is assign a person resposible for set-up & take down but our day-of coordinator was so sweet to lend a hand too. - Food was fantastic! We opted for 2 carving stations & buffet style dinner but they also offered plated menus for our guests with dietary restrictions. Our guests were complimenting the food and many went back for seconds and vegan & vegetarian guests were happy with their plates too. Plus: you get to take home the delicous left-overs- they even packed a beautiful to-go plate separately for the bride & groom. - Plenty of parking with option to leave the car over night. Just beware that Ramona is a bit remote so it is not quite as easy to catch a ride, so preordering transportation makes sense. There is some stairs and uneven paths but myself as a bride and all other guests in heels were getting around just fine and also our older guests had no complaints. They were also very accomodating of my brother who is in a wheel chair and they had bathrooms that were accessible for him. Thank you again to the whole Mt.Woodson staff for the BEST experience ever!

From our first conversation, the team at Bramble Bay Venue made planning stress free with their transparent communication and quick responses to every question we had. They worked seamlessly with our vendors and never made us feel rushed or complicated the process. The sunset view from the ceremony space was unmatched and the market lights strung throughout the property created the perfect ambiance for our reception. The indoor outdoor layout kept our guests mingling and dancing all night long and the pricing was refreshingly honest with no hidden fees. We got an incredible venue with an amazing view without breaking the bank. They included the tables and chairs which really alleviated a lot of added costs and prevented me from needing to hire another company. We can't recommend Bramble Bay Venue enough to couples looking for a beautiful space with and incredible staff that guides you throughout the entire process and really brings your vision to life.
