“My husband and I could not have imagined a better wedding experience and we are so grateful we chose to have our special day at the beautiful Secret Garden! We got married on December 14, 2024 and it was the most beautiful day we could have imagined! We booked the venue over a year in advance and throughout the entire planning process, the entire team was so available and responsive. As the day approached, we met with our day-of coordination Laura and she was truly amazing!! She helped me create the day of my dreams and was very prompt in responding to any of our concerns. She helped bring our vision to life and I am so grateful!! The very inclusive experience at The Secret Garden was also so helpful. We ended up going through our own food vendor for BBQ for dinner, but everything else was seamless and really helped ease the wedding planning stress. The photography and videography team was so amazing and captured our day so beautifully. I still cry tears of joy looking at our pictures and videos from the special day! :') The DJ services provided were also amazing and we couldn't have been happier with DJ Jason Lyons! Overall, we could not be happier with our experience at The Secret Garden. It was worth every penny to marry my best friend at such a beautiful place surrounded by everyone we love!! :)”

The entertainment was unforgettable thanks to DJ Maestro. Mik absolutely understood the vibe we wanted and kept the energy exactly where it needed to be all night long. The addition of the cellist during our ceremony was stunning and made the entire experience feel so elegant and memorable. The florists completely exceeded our expectations. They created the most breathtaking floral arrangements, including a gorgeous flower chandelier that truly became a centerpiece of the room. The creativity and craftsmanship were beyond anything we could have imagined. Our cake from Violet Cakes was both a work of art and incredibly delicious. Malissa designed the most beautiful three-tier cake adorned with fresh flowers, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing it tasted. Finally, we have to give the biggest shoutout to Nico and Paul from True Photography. They were an absolute dream team. They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, were endlessly patient, and worked together so seamlessly that it was obvious how talented they are. “We did not use The Knott to find this venue but we had such an amazing experience we had to share. The venue itself, the first thing you see is a modern foodhall / full bar with a large variety of restaurants. If youre staying at the hotel connected, it was such a great place to hangout with your bridal parties before everything starts. Moving along to the even areas, the ceremony room gives off a modern barn yard style venue and it's such a pleasant contrast from what you initially see when first walking in which really adds to the "wow" factor when entering the room. The cocktail hour area is amazing as well and after we gifted some of our items, they will now have Cornhole and a beer cart available! The area itself is wide open with great seating areas as well. The reception is another instance where the contrast is such a difference from the food hall downstairs, it once again adds so much to that jsw drop reaction. We were approached multiple times complementing how "cool" this venue was and it was definitely a true compliment. Now the venue wouldn't be anywhere with out the staff and I can not say enough great things about them. The entire time was courteous, professional and really give they sense that they want to make sure you have your special day as one to remember. Specifically wanted to shout out our amazing coordinator - Brianna, banquet captain - Lee j and Dj - Rhy's. These three went above and beyond for us and it seemed like that was just their normal demeanor. Brianna made sure we had nothing to worry about and made every part of the planning process a breeze. Lee J was also always checking in appropriately often to ensure we were never left wanting, thirsty or hungry. Rhy's was also great to work with, we had a very specific request with music which ended up having my wife and I take part in a lightsaber fight to two different versions of starwars music - Duel of the Fates, and he handled it masterfully. All in all, 10/10 can not recommend enough.”

“Gorgeous and peaceful location, perfect for a celebration of any kind. I booked Meyer Hall at the Lakeside Community Center for an engagement party in March 2026 for 95 guests (max capacity is 250). They also offer smaller rooms for groups of 30 to 90. I loved the spacious layout of Meyer Hall, which is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen. You can decorate however you like, provided you don't attach anything to the walls/ceiling or use open flames, confetti, or rice. We used tablecloths, flowers, LED votives, and small candies, which elevated the space to a classy, elegant, wedding-like feel. There is also plenty of free parking just a short walk from the hall, making it easy to navigate for guests in heels or those using strollers and wheelchairs. The Logistics: The 4-hour rental (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM) automatically included two additional hours for setup and one hour for breakdown. I added tables, chairs, a stage, and multimedia equipment to my reservation. A security guard was required, along with a catering fee and a cleaning deposit. I did not rent the kitchen, as our caterers handled everything on the patio. The total came to 1,510, which I found very reasonable and affordable. I was also pleased to see the security deposit returned to my credit card less than a week later. My main contact, Michelle, was incredibly kind and professional throughout the entire planning process. Pro-Tips for Planning: Insurance: You’ll need one-day event insurance (I used Markel for 75). Note that providing alcohol requires additional coverage and potentially an extra security guard. The Tour: You must tour the space with a staff member at least 45 days before your event and prior to booking. Since this is a busy community center, tours are only offered on very specific days/times. Breakdown: The rental requires you to clear, wipe, and stack all furniture, take trash to the dumpster, and sweep/mop. This wasn't a problem for us, but it’s an important detail if you’re planning a formal wedding! The Highlights: My favorite feature was the view of the beautiful lake and local birds. The A/C worked perfectly, which was a huge relief during a recent heat wave. Our dessert vendor, Cabetos Pops, served guests on the patio starting at 6:30 PM. This coincided perfectly with "golden hour," making for a truly magical moment. While the lakefront is open to the public, our area still felt private and secluded. We also had Taquizas José cater delicious tacos on the patio; our guests raved about the food! (I highly recommend checking out their Yelp pages for my full 5-star reviews). Minor Hiccup: The only subpar aspect was the multimedia setup. The Bluetooth speakers didn’t work for about half the party. I had scheduled a time two weeks prior to test the equipment, and the battery was dead even then. My fiancé and I had curated a thoughtful playlist, so it was disappointing the device wasn't charged. To their credit, the staff worked hard to resolve it and ensured it functioned once charged. My suggestion: Kindly and clearly remind the staff to charge the speakers a few days before your event. All in all, I really enjoyed hosting our friends and family here and would not hesitate to book again. They are undergoing some construction this year which may affect lake views, so just check with the staff before booking.”
