    A Unique Space for your Event

    The team at Oceanside Museum Of Art was a joy to work with for our wedding. Their communication style was friendly, positive, and creative, which made the planning process seamless. The venue itself offered a DIY contemporary art vibe that allowed us the freedom to choose our own vendors and create a truly magical memory. The art backdrops made for amazing photo ops, and the ability to bring in our own party lights and create our own atmosphere was a huge plus. With easy booking, affordable rates, and free parking, Oceanside Museum of Art was the perfect choice for our special day.

    Photographer experience

    I have worked as a photographer at this venue several times and, let me tell you, it makes such a difference when the venue coordinator knows what they are doing. It’s like having an in-house wedding planner. It’s a gorgeous space with tons of unique locations for photography.

    Perfect Wedding Venue

    This is the perfect reception venue. Nicola the event coordinator immediately called me after I submitted an inquiry and from then on her communication was amazing. The museum went out of their way (to include leaving up pieces of art that they knew we loved for our reception) to make our day so special. You need very minimum decorations because the art truly shines and the space is beautiful. The building is modern, which allowed for our own creativity like projecting large images on the outside, facing the street. Our guests raved about it and when not dancing or enjoying food were able to wander the galleries and even purchase some art! I was able to create a special space for kids to get creative as well. Of all the venues we toured the museum gave us the most flexibility and options and we’re very gracious about what vendors we could use allowing us to have a truly custom event that represented our lives and relationship. I am so thankful for the staff at OMA for making our experience so exceptional! Not only will you have a unique venue, but your money is going to support the arts and the local community of Oceanside!

Toast Catering
Our specialty is showcasing Southern California artists, so we leave the food art to the professionals. To help you get started, we have a list of preferred caterers to choose from that have the required licensing and already know their way around our museum space and well-equipped kitchen. If you have your own caterer pre-selected, no problem! We just require a walkthrough with your selected caterer in advance along with proof of their appropriate food service license and liquor license if alcohol is being served. If interested in having a food truck for your special event, please inquire.
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff.
There is almost always free street parking available surrounding the museum. The Civic Center parking garage is also free and located just a block away. *Street parking may be impacted during Thursday markets or other local events. Check out visitoceanside.org/events/ for information on any happenings in the area that could impact parking availability during your event.
Your reservation includes seven hours from start to finish, including the time it takes to set up and clean up. This time can be negotiated.
We require liability insurance.
The City of Oceanside has a 10:00pm Sound Ordinance, therefore all OUTDOOR music must be turned off at 10:00pm. Therefore, if your DJ or band is set up inside of the lobby, you're in the clear!
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable.
When renting the entire museum, your guests will have access to all of our currently installed exhibitions throughout your event. Please check with us to see which exhibitions will be up at the time of your event. OMA frequently changes its exhibitions, so a gallery may be closed for installation at the time of your event. If you are renting a portion of the museum, you will have access to select exhibitions adjacent to your event space. No food/drinks are allowed in the galleries at any time. OMA will have tables at the entrance of each gallery that your guests can place their drinks on prior to enjoying the art.
Yes, as long as the person serving the alcohol has the proper beverage service certification then you are more than welcome to bring your own!
