At Simon McKenzie Photography, I specialize in creating cinematic, story-driven imagery with genuine emotion and true-to-life editing. My goal is to tell your story as it naturally unfolds—capturing not just how your day looked, but how it felt. I believe the best photographs come from real moments, not forced poses. When you feel comfortable being yourselves, the laughter, connection, quiet moments, and genuine emotions become effortless—and those are the memories worth preserving.

I split my time between Copenhagen and the United States, primarily New York City and San Francisco. Whether you're planning a destination elopement in Europe or celebrating closer to home in the U.S., I'm able to travel easily and help bring your vision to life. One other thing that makes my approach a little unique is that you'll receive every successful photograph I capture throughout the day—not just a curated selection. From there, you can choose the images that mean the most to you for my signature editing, so your final gallery reflects the moments you truly treasure.

Simon is truly THE BEST!!
We had such an incredible experience working with Simon for our wedding and are SO grateful we had him! Genuinely beyond a 10/10 for every single aspect of working with him! Leading up to the wedding he was extremely communicative, upfront about everything, and took so much initiative to make us feel comfortable and reassured throughout the entire process. He also had a lot of good ideas/advice during the planning phase to make sure that we were set up for success, and really listened to what we wanted and were looking for. On the day of the wedding, he was beyond amazing in every way. He was so reliable and exactly where he needed to be for every important shot throughout both the ceremony and the reception, and it was so nice not having to worry about that one bit. We did a couples shoot between the ceremony and reception at a nearby park, which Simon went totally ABOVE & BEYOND preparing for! He went there before the ceremony on his own time to scope out the location, set a route for us to walk through to hit all the good photo spots he discovered, and guided us the entire time on how to pose (which we were so grateful for!). He made our limited time for photos super efficient, relaxing, and extremely beautiful. He was able to have us recreate all of the inspo photos we had sent him ahead of time, and he had a plan the entire time of exactly what we needed to do. The photos turned out absolutely AMAZING and we will cherish them for the rest of our lives. He was able to create some truly magical couples shots, capture every feeling throughout the day, as well as capture the good energy of our entire wedding day. We are so happy we get to look back and relive this special day through his photos. On top of all of this, Simon is the nicest and most friendly person ever, which made everybody so comfortable! He literally worked so hard the entire time and got such incredible photos, we really couldn't be happier or say enough about how great our experience was and what a great photogrpaher he is. :)

Relaxed, talented, and genuinely fun to work with!
Simon shot our engagement photos around London during and after my proposal, and his professionalism and attention to detail were evident from the beginning. He was relaxed but clearly had a plan, and collaborated with us to create a shoot that actually represented who we are. During the shoot he moved us around ensure the lighting was perfect without ever making it feel like a photoshoot, and somehow got both candid, unposed moments and the classic "we're posing but it looks natural" shots. His personality put us at ease and helped us actually have fun and I think you can see it in the photos. The turnaround was fast, and we still keep going back to these photos, they capture how the day felt with real authenticity. If you want a photographer who'll help you capture important moments that feel like you, not like a catalog, Simon's the one!!!!

We cannot recommend Simon highly enough as a wedding photographer! From start to finish, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was courteous, kind, and incredibly professional. Our outdoor ceremony and indoor reception with 150 guests were perfectly captured, and every important moment was beautifully documented. What truly stands out about Simon is his impressive photography style. We were drawn to him based on a recommendation from another photographer who was unavailable on our wedding date, and we are so thankful we made that connection. Isle of Skye Photoshoot with Simon
Simon is really friendly to guide us the poses and also likely let us to be ourselves. Even the weather is really challenging, but the nature environments and the photos outcomes are absolutely stunning and amazing! It’s an unforgettable life experience for us in 2026. Really enjoyed working with Simon, and a deeply thankful for his efforts!!
