Hello, I’m Ryan Huh. For one day, I’m welcomed like an old friend and embraced by family to bear witness to some of the most meaningful moments of a lifetime. But as the wedding day approaches, we’re oftentimes filled with expectations of how to feel, act, and look: shaped by scrolling through an industry, the people around us, and our own thoughts. But what if photography wasn't just a validation of expectations or a social competition? What if we entered the moment without needing it to look a certain way and simply prioritized presence? What if photography was validation of a feeling, not just an individual but a collective feeling.

My documentary approach follows no strict rules but to protect the present. I observe, I guide, I laugh, I pretend and ultimately, I strive to be present. You want me to create photos that not just document, but capture that indescribable nostalgic feeling which treads the line between memory and dream. Thank you for pushing me to not become numb to the routines and new faces, but to be truly present with each person's unique presence: to create something real.
