About Jessica Spoll Photography

Jessica Spoll Photography

Owner & Lead Photographer

With over 6 years of experience, I can anticipate anything that could happen on a wedding day. I have plan Bs for my plan Bs. I have PDF guides to help you with planning and prep for what to expect. I'm here for you every step of the way.

Photography is my favorite form of time travel. By capturing true moments of joy, longing, love, and friendship, you can transport back to the day and feel those emotions all over again. If you don't want to look back on the day and only remember how it felt to be posed for hundreds of photos, and instead you want to look at a photo of you laughing and remember exactly how elated you felt at that second, then you're in the right place.

Book her - are you crazy?!

Jess and her second shooter were absolutely clutch - they came EARLIER than expected, took a look at all the spacing, and planned out what exactly what we would do and where. Jess also managed my absolutely crazy family by figuring out who should be in what photo EVEN THOUGH she had never met them before. And she did amazingly beautiful getting ready photos. I don't know what to tell you except that I'm in awe of her artistic talent and what a complete steal she is. For someone who already had really high expectations to live up to from the engagement shoot, Jess hit every single expectation we had and more! We chose a crazy artistic venue with a courtyard, garage, townhome, and gallery - but Jess managed to find all the best lighting while also managing to keep us away from guests during our first-look photos. She has just such an eye for style it's CRAZY! And she captured all the small details perfectly. There's really no choice here - if you want someone who captures the real moments and gives you photos that let you remember what your wedding FELT LIKE - not what it looks like on a postcard, but the real gosh-darn emotion, then you need to book Jess. You 100% will be so happy you did - because the person behind the lens is also a gem. <3

    Amazing spirit and photographer!

As the founder of The Coordinated Collective, a day-of wedding coordination service, it was SO wonderful to work with such a talented photographer. During the planning process, Jessica provided valuable feedback reference the time needed for first look, wedding party and formal couple portraits for Anna + Cory. On the day of the wedding, she captured the most beautiful images effortlessly. With her strong communication, clear vision of her craft and the clients’ vision—she made my job as a coordinator so much easier.

    11/10 would recommend

Jess Spoll Review We cannot recommend Jess enough. She’s an absolute treasure of a human being who is now one of our good friends, in addition to being a magnificently talented photographer. Her documentary-esque style paired with her stark contrast and beautiful, earthy colors make her work some of the most visually stunning images we have ever had the pleasure of laying our eyes on. If you’re getting married, we would absolutely, 1000% recommend Jess Spoll. Sure, you could hire some other wedding photographer that captures all the smiles and sunshine and happiness that your day brings, and you’d be satisfied. However, if you want to relive your wedding day in all its beautiful, loving glory, hire Jess Spoll. She has this way of telling a story through her images in a way that communicates a sense of ease, sincerity, and above all else, warmth. She snapped moments that we didn’t even think would be moments worth capturing, and yet managed to make those particular pictures some of our favorites from our wedding day. We want to take her with us everywhere we go and have her document our lives-. Jess was extremely easy to work with. I am usually a pretty shy person in front of the camera, so for her to get me to naturally come out of my shell was nothing short of amazing. Working with Jess literally made us want to get more pictures done despite having already gotten married. We highly recommend her and cannot speak highly enough about her style, professionalism, and dedication.

There’s literally no limit to the number of images I deliver. I edit every image that isn’t a duplicate or blurry/people blinking, etc. But every wedding day is so different. The total number depends on a lot of those factors, and especially if you have a second shooter. As an example, an 8-hour wedding with over 100 guests and a second shooter, you could expect 800-1200 images.
Having a second shooter means you get more photos and more of your day captured. With everything going on at a wedding, I can only be one place at one time. So I always recommend a second shooter for weddings if your budget allows for it.
At the very latest, 8 weeks. But lemme tell you a secret: I aim to deliver within 6 weeks! I do sneak peeks within a week after your wedding so that you can share with the world that you're married!
Yes! I love to see people print their photos, and albums are a great way to show the whole story of the day, a story you can keep telling for generations to come. I can work with you to select the images you want and to design an album that you'll love.
1,000%, yes! Though it’s not necessary, engagement sessions are great for so many reasons. They help us get to know each other in person before your wedding, helps you understand my photography style, and gets you comfy in front of my camera. It's also just a totally different vibe from your wedding and it's great to capture this part of your lives before you get married.
After you reach out, we’ll chat about the rough schedule for your day and help you determine how many hours of photography coverage you'll need to cover all the important parts of your day. The minimum for non-elopements is 6 hours of coverage, but people generally go with 8-10 to tell the full story of their day.
Absolutely! I love to travel and am always on the move. It's easy for me to get anywhere in the world since I'm based in NYC, right by a huge international airport! I've got family in DC, Philly, Colorado, and friend all over so please just ask if your wedding is outside of New York!
Nope, but I can recommend some fantastic videographers who are great to work with.
I'm very comfortable shooting at new venues. If the property is large I may come early to scout out locations, but even if I can't, that's ok! Since I travel for weddings, I'm used to shooting in new places and honestly? It’s all part of the fun of my job. It sparks creativity in me and I'm able to read the light and find cool spots specifically because I’m looking at a place with fresh eyes.
