Toast & Jam DJs specialize in making people dance by working closely with our clients to create customized playlists that reflect their tastes. We reject line dances, props, and other gimmicks in favor of perfectly planned and well-timed soundtracks that appeal to every partygoer. That means no Hokey Pokey and no Chicken Dance. At Toast & Jam, we believe that a thoughtful mix of pop favorites, hip-hop bootyshakers, Motown classics, and timeless standards are fun and self-respecting alternative to those embarrassing and played-out dancefloor clichés.

Our DJs are super-talented and totally music-obsessed, but we aren't music snobs. We understand that it’s your wedding, and it’s all about what you want. We aren’t club DJs who took a wedding “for the money.” We love weddings and are honored to be a part of the big day. We work closely with your other vendors to make sure that the event goes off perfectly.

    The Best DJ in Chicago

    We went with Toast and Jam for our wedding and could not have been happier with the decision. We are both fairly shy people and we had concerns that our families and friends weren’t the “danciest” or most lively crowd, and Damani absolutely threw down for the entirety of the evening. Many of our guests commented during the evening and afterwards that our DJ was incredible. To quote one of our friends - “I did not feel like I could sit down for 3 hours straight because Damani was just playing banger after banger.” Thank you for making our special day that much more special 3

    Strongly Recommend

    Alli did an amazing job with our wedding. She asked the right questions about how we wanted our wedding to feel, and executed everything flawlessly. Aside from providing a great soundtrack for our wedding, she was a delightful MC who kept the crowd focused on key moments in a fun, friendly way. She also went completely above and beyond by doing some custom edits on our ceremony music so that we could have a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Strongly recommend!

    A great experience with DJ Chris!

    We hired Chris because we wanted someone we could trust to take ownership of the music and overall flow of the evening, and he absolutely delivered. From our very first conversation, we told him that music wasn’t our area of expertise. Our biggest request was simple: keep the dance floor full and make the music something we didn’t have to worry about on our wedding day. Chris took the time to get to know us as a couple and truly listened. Throughout the day, I constantly found myself saying, “I love this song,” even when it wasn’t something we had suggested. From cocktail hour through the last dance, every transition felt natural, the energy was spot on, and the dance floor stayed packed. If you’re looking for a DJ who will genuinely understand your vision, make thoughtful decisions on your behalf, and create an incredible atmosphere without needing constant direction, Chris is exactly who you want. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience!

    Our DJ Was Amazing!

    We would highly recommend working with Toast & Jam! The company makes the DJ process seamless from start to finish and really puts time and effort into making sure they get everything right. Our DJ, Alli, was AMAZING! She was an absolute pleasure to work with and did the perfect job of incorporating our specific requests, considering our overall music preferences and using her DJ expertise to keep the dance floor going throughout the night (and also improvised an incredible musical cue during our Maid of Honor’s speech). We received many kind words about her and our music from our guests as well!

    Toast and Jam rocks!

    We gave DJ Frederick one task (dance floor party all night long) and he absolutely crushed it! We always wanted our dance floor to be one (including us) that no one wanted to leave and we never did. He effortlessly transitioned the night from the intros to speeches to cake cutting to dancing. He was such a fun presence to be around and was dancing the night away with us from behind the booth. We were so pleased even during dinner, he played literally all of our favorite songs - we had made an 8 hour long playlist for him to sift through and somehow he chose the best ones and curated the perfect dinner vibe. DJ Frederick was so great throughout the whole wedding - checking in with us every so often and really making it feel like we were running the show but in a completely low stress way. Even leading up to our wedding, I was worried about the timeline/order of events and Frederick immediately jumped on another call with us to run through everything again. DJ Frederick and Toast and Jam were so easy to work with and super communicative. We are so happy with our choice and would recommend Toast and Jam to anyone and everyone!

Our DJs provide music for cocktails, dinner and dancing and the basic sound equipment. We have a 6-hour minimum. Any additional time or special equipment will incur additional charges. Weddings and events more than 25 miles from our office will incur an additional travel fee. We also offer Photo Booth and Lighting Services.
We would love for you to give us your first dance song and your father-daughter and/or mother-son songs. That way we can ensure that we’re playing the correct version of your songs of choice (because the Etta James version of “At Last” is way different from the Stevie Wonder version - yeah, it exists).
Nope. Sorry to be blunt, but it’s just not fair to our brides and grooms to invite strangers to crash their weddings. We wouldn’t want that for our own weddings, and we’re guessing you wouldn’t want it for yours either. Also, we specialize in tailoring the events to the specific needs of the client. One client’s dream of an all gangsta-rap wedding could potentially be your nightmare.
We’d love to, provided your ceremony and reception are at the same location (and by same location we mean under the same roof, within the same walls or generally on the same property). That does not include, for example, the park across the street or the church around the corner. Not to get too technical, but it’s a lot more complicated than just throwing up some speakers.
All Toast & Jam DJs use high-end equipment that can (and will!) create beautiful sound in any and all venues. We are fully digital and do not use vinyl. If you want the full details on equipment, you can get the rundown when you meet with your DJ - all the DJs own their own gear, so everyone’s rig is a little different.
