Music is the language of our souls. Beyond our own personal enjoyment, we've spent time and effort to find like minded performers who are talented, energetic, and above all reliable. Professional and musician are two words that are not often imagined together: we aim a little higher and prefer the term "Full-time Entertainer" ;)

We've made it our business to offer quality entertainment for a plethora of events: festivals, weddings, corporate events, etc. We fit into any setting: whether it's a packed party environment or a laidback cocktail hour, we can make it happen for you. Because we offer these services full time we're often available for fast turnaround communications. Our group also has the benefit of offering an in-house DJ option so the party doesn't stop when the bands takes a break and also a PRO lighting and TV package: this is a great option to stylize your event.

    Everything I wanted for my Wedding

    "I had the pleasure of having Alfonso & Gene perform for my wedding ceremony/reception. They absolutely rocked! I had a bit of a snafu when there was no where to plug in their equipment at the ceremony. Their quick thinking saved it. They played some soft acoustic music and sang softly in the background. They selected the perfect songs on the fly. I absolutely loved the song choice of Hallelujah during the ceremony! They are so creative and thoughtful in the way they perform. The mix of Pumped up Kicks with Seminole Wind blew my mind! I cannot thank you both enough. You made my day perfect and I would recommend your services to anyone in need of a rockin' party band. Spark Notes, is the best choice I could have made for great entertainment. Keep on Rockin!"

It depends on the event but for a wedding or corporate event we'll dress in appropriate attire. Business casual is the best way to describe this. We have been asked to play dress up for specific events (steam punk festival comes to mind) and we had no problem dressing the part. However in these special requests the client is responsible for providing wardrobe.
We are always learning new tunes, often we forget songs we learned years ago but it always comes back pretty quickly. By special request have learned a song or two for the bride, groom, or special person we are celebrating.
Yes of course! As long as we know how to play it. Sometimes we have no idea how to play it and we can still get through a recognizable version of a song. "Fake it til' you make it!"
Yes. Often for these events the couple prefers chill background music - so we'll strap on the acoustic instruments and play laid back tunes.
Most events we will show up at least 2 hours before start time.
Musicians, as most artists, are rather wild. Bands and projects come and go. Spark Notes have been together 10 years. We respect our personal lives and don't have ridiculous demands besides being professional, reliable, and sharing a love of music. That's the secret to our success.
A certificate of insurance is available upon request of any venue or client.
We offer a DJ to continue the party while we are on break, TV slideshows for a walk down memory lane or to promote your event directive, karaoke entertainment, a basic lighting package and a pro lighting package. Prices vary depending on your needs and how many options you select.
Americana pop music. That's popular american music from the 50's today. We can play some Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, and we can also play some Green Day, Snoop Dogg, and Bruno Mars. We also enjoy hits from RUSH, U2, Lizzo, and Lynyrd Skynrd. The list goes on...
$100 per hour travel time (there and back) for first 2 musicians outside of 20 miles from downtown Sarasota. Add $100 per musician after 2 musicians outside of 20 miles from downtown Sarasota. That price doubles outside of 40 miles from downtown Sarasota
