“We had our winter wedding at the Philadelphia Horticulture Center at Fairmount Park, and I truly cannot say enough amazing things about this venue. Olivia and her team made it pure magic from start to finish. The space is absolutely stunning — even in the winter, it feels like you’re stepping into a romantic garden oasis. The greenery, natural light, and elegant greenhouse vibe create the perfect mix of cozy and breathtaking, and our guests could not stop talking about how unique and beautiful it was and how good the food and cocktails were. The setting is naturally gorgeous, which made our photos look like something out of a magazine. The venue flows beautifully for a wedding — from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception — and it felt intimate, warm, and inviting while still being spacious enough to celebrate comfortably. The winter atmosphere made it even more special: romantic, glowing, and timeless. If you’re looking for a Philadelphia wedding venue that feels elevated, charming, and unforgettable, the Horticulture Center is it. It’s a true hidden gem in the city and was the perfect backdrop for the most incredible day of our lives. We are so grateful we chose this venue — it was everything we dreamed of and more. “The Drexelbrook did an excellent job hosting our baby shower. Their buffet and dessert bar options were delicious and plentiful. They took good care of our guests who needed vegan, gluten-free options or a kid's meal. One of the highlights of our celebration was a "make your own bouquet" bar for guests. It was an option that Drexelbrook suggested, based on our shower theme. They worked with us to ensure that we could decorate and arrange the space to meet the needs of our event. There is plenty of free parking on site.”

“My partner and I had the best experience working with Deyna Hamilton from Manayunk Brewing for our wedding reception! From the moment we booked the space a year prior, Deyna was so hands-on with us and helped with everything along the way. Every time we met, she kept us on track and helped us organize our to-do list and was such a pleasure to work with. She clearly has a ton of experience with planning and organizing events, and on the day-of, Deyna made sure we had the most carefree and fun time! The cocktail hour & reception space were perfect for my husband and I. We hosted about 80 people, so everybody had a lot of room to mingle and have drinks and dance. We chose to do stations for dinner, and they were a hit! Everybody told us how much they enjoyed the food during the cocktail hour and reception. The chef at Manayunk is very good! Deyna helped us choose all of the food in the months leading up to our reception which was also a load off our minds! We had a great time utilizing the bridal suite in the hours before our reception - it was a great space to have drinks and snacks with our family, put together some of our decor, and get ready. Deyna and the other staffers helped us tremendously by putting together the reception & cocktail hour space with all of our decorations, flowers, and photos. Deyna provided recommendations for vendors, so it was easy to choose a DJ (John Cicala from Silver Sounds) who already knew the venue! We can’t recommend Manayunk and Deyna enough. They were so wonderful to us! Thank you for everything!”

“Choosing Appleford for our wedding was hands down one of the best choices we made in wedding planning. From the first tour Lisa made the experience as easy and stress free as possible. Their recommended vendors and partnered caters were great, and the open houses they held made selection smooth and gave us peace of mind knowing we were making informed decisions. One reason we loved Appleford was knowing they had a good rain plan - unfortunately, we did have to use this rain plan for some of our day so we were so incredibly grateful that the inside of the estate was stunning and ready for indoor use when the time came. The onsite coordinator was helpful in every respect and helped with everything including wardrobe malfunctions for the mother of the bride (helping to sew her dress when it was needed)! Our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was which was obvious from the moment you step on the property. We cannot recommend Appleford enough and are so incredibly grateful that we chose them for our wedding day!”

“We cannot thank Jamie and Kathy enough for making our vow renewal so special. The whole day felt like it was straight out of a movie. From the very beginning of planning, they were clear, organized, and thoughtful. Every detail was seamless, from being transparent about pricing from the start to the end of brunch when one of our friends arrived late and their team made him a breakfast sandwich so he would still have something to eat. That kind of care did not go unnoticed. From the moment we walked into the hotel and the front desk greeted us with such warmth, I felt so welcomed I actually cried. The little touches like apples and water for guests, the amazing bartenders on our first night at the cafe bar and at our event in the Montrose Mansion, the care their team took with the gift bags, and making sure everyone fit comfortably into the venue all meant so much. And the food… it was impeccable. Both dinner and brunch were better than anything we could have dreamed up. It is a huge testament to their organization and communication skills that we were able to plan the entire event from California without worry. There are no words to describe how thankful we are. Jamie, Kathy, and the team at the Inn at Villanova made our weekend unforgettable, and we feel so lucky to have worked with them. Tristan & Sean”

“The Hotel Palomar went above and beyond for our wedding weekend in the spring. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and morning after brunch as well as our room block at the hotel. The even coordinator, Erin S. and the entire team involved went above and beyond every step of the way. Five months before our wedding, I had to have major surgery and quarantine for two – three months after. I was unable to attend our food tasting but my fiancé and both sets of parents went on my behalf. Erin was not only understanding but supportive as my own family and friends were – checking in and celebrating with me after the surgery. When the tasting came, the chef sent home full-sized portions for me to try at home. This was in addition to the full-sized ones my family tried as well. The entire staff was there to answer any questions from me or our family. We had several dietary restrictions which Erin coordinated with the chef on our behalf to make sure those guests were included without having to worry. We had a memorial table as well as several things to be set out (guest book, favors, name cards, etc.). I gave all these items to the team and it was fully taken care of for me and they even knew which favors were to be for gluten free guests. Erin provided a list of pre-approved vendors they had worked with before (we didn’t have to use these) and we ended up using a lot of them. Erin coordinated with them directly as needed, photography locations for if it rained and DJ timeline. Due to the top tier efforts of the entire hotel, we were AHEAD of schedule the entire weekend which really allowed everyone to be fully present. My bridal party and I were in the suite for preparations and they continued to go above and beyond. We had a team member bring us our food and coffee order and he was so accommodating. He brought iced coffee when I mentioned that’s my preferences and we talked about our pets since I had my dog with me (as did several of our guests). Our guests were also well taken care of – from unpacking cars for their stays to helping our vendors get to their locations. I would sit here and list every name of every person that I felt were stars but honestly, it was the entire team. Everyone I encountered the whole time was a five star person. I cannot recommend this location enough for any occasion including just a regular weekend stay in Philadelphia.”

“What a beautiful venue! I was so happy to see my vision come to life but having the house and the grounds as a backdrop just made everything that much better. It was beautiful and we had so much space for everything. The team was incredible, I again need to shout out our coordinator Grace, who was just so phenomenal and made sure to help make everything look as we planned. We had our wedding on August 23rd so it was a hot day, and the fans you don’t even notice in the tent were so good it felt like AC! The house wasn’t hot either. The only time we were sweating was when we were dancing all too hard. I am so happy I decided to use this beautiful venue for my wedding.”

“When I set out to plan our wedding, there were two things my husband and I knew we absolutely needed: a venue that had “character” all on its own, and food that was “top-notch” while still being allergy-friendly. So, I logged onto Facebook and started joining every bridal group I could find. I was looking for something VERY SPECIFIC, a gem, a place that had everything I was envisioning. Honestly, I didn’t think it existed. And then came The Ivy at Ellis Preserve by Finley Catering. What I thought didn’t exist suddenly became a reality. My husband and I visited The Ivy just one month after it opened, and we instantly fell in love. That was it. The search was over. Just as quickly as we fell in love with each other, we fell in love with the venue. From start to finish, Meg was responsive, caring, attentive, and professional. She understood that my husband and I have serious food allergies and never made us feel like our needs were an inconvenience or an afterthought. Meg, our event coordinator, and her husband, Mike, our maître d, went above and beyond to make our wedding day incredibly special. Most people say their wedding day “flashed before their eyes,” but for me, that was never the case. Every moment felt like my husband and I were spinning together inside a snow globe, dancing while the entire world settled around us. And I truly believe that feeling was possible because of how well the entire team took care of us. The staff were INCREDIBLE. Every single person we encountered was kind, helpful, attentive, and professional. It’s been just shy of three weeks since our wedding, and our guests are STILL raving about the cocktail hour and dinner. MANY of them have told us it was, by far, the best cocktail hour they have ever experienced. And the best part? We didn’t even select any of the food upgrades! But what meant the most to my husband and me was that we didn’t just have to hear about how amazing the food was from our guests; we got to experience it ourselves. Meg and Mike took our allergies seriously and went above and beyond to make modifications so we could safely enjoy our wedding meal alongside everyone else. They made us feel like our allergies didn’t make us “different.” We were able to sit down, eat, celebrate, and enjoy our reception just like every other couple. That meant EVERYTHING to us. I cannot stop raving about Finley Catering and their newest venue, The Ivy at Ellis Preserve and clearly, neither can our guests! Throughout the entire planning process, I talked endlessly about how beautiful the venue is. It is SO elegant and beautiful on its own that it truly doesn’t need much. In fact, I DIY’d about 95% of my wedding, and I would tell every future couple the same thing: you don’t have to go all out. Keep it simple. Let the architecture, character, and elegance of The Ivy speak for you. The “bones” of this venue are absolutely beautiful, and they create the perfect canvas for whatever vision you have. Meg and Mike, thank you SOOOOO much for everything you did for us. Thank you for listening, caring, accommodating, anticipating our needs, and making us feel so incredibly special from the moment we walked through The Ivy’s doors to the moment our wedding day ended. We will forever be grateful that we found our “gem” and that we got to celebrate the beginning of our marriage there. ️ The Ivy at Ellis Preserve will always hold such a special place in our hearts.”

Arch Street Meeting House is a historic wedding venue located in Old City Philadelphia. The land on which Arch Street Meeting House stands was officially deeded to the Quakers in 1701 and used as a burial ground until 1872. The building was constructed in stages from 1803 to 1811 when need arose of a larger meetinghouse in Philadelphia. The site is still an active place of worship in addition to being used as an educational museum space, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011. It is frequently rented for conferences, weddings, dinners, and graduations. The building sits on just shy of 2 acres, and our grounds include both grassy & brick spaces and lots of mature trees. The entire site exudes an overall historic charm.

Venue considerations

“Arch Street Meeting House proved to be the ideal spot for our wedding. Jenn was an absolute pleasure to work with and made sure she understood exactly what we were looking for and how her team could help bring it to fruition. They allowed us to close the grounds to the public so that our guests could mingle and sip champagne outside in the beautiful weather. All of the guests commented on how tangibly historical the venue was and how they loved the simplicity and timelessness of the ceremony space. (Which looks absolutely stunning in the few preview photos we've gotten back.) Because it was so much more affordable, we also decided to hold our rehearsal dinner there and hired a taco truck to act as the caterers. All in all, I can't recommend ASMH or Jenn and the team more highly!!”

“My now husband and I have been going to Fringe since early in our dating. It's a place we love for its beer garden, good food, cool building, and view of the Ben Franklin Bridge twinkling at night. We knew we wanted to celebrate our wedding here, but we had no idea just how magical the experience would be. Working with Liz at Fringe Bar and Devi at FringeArts Theater made everything so easy. Liz was incredible to work with on all details regarding food and drink menu, schedule of events, and coordinating with other vendors including table rentals, florists, and musicians. Her recommendations were spot on, and our night flowed so effortlessly on our side because of the whole staff's diligent work to make our experience amazing. Our guests enjoyed the indoor and outdoor beer garden during cocktail hour with ample places to cozy up on a beautiful fall night, drinking cocktails outside and inside while kids played corn hole and garden games. When we moved dinner into the theater space, guests were blown away by the delicious food and ambiance. Every appetizer, cocktail, and entree was out of this world delicious, and we had no problem with allergies or dietary restrictions at our 130 person reception. Our guests are still talking about how great the food and service was, months after the fact. Liz made all of our wildest dreams come true. 300 freshly shucked oysters during cocktail hour? You got it. Mai tais with housemade orgeat? It's their specialty. Steak frites for the adults and grilled cheese for the kids? No problem at all. Fireball shots in the middle of dinner with Pitbull's "Fireball" playing in the background? Executed perfectly. The wine poured effortlessly, nobody had to wait at the beautiful bar for a cocktail made to order, and best of all: Liz was spot on in her price estimates so there were no surprises at the end of the night. We went to Fringe the next day to sign the final bill, and Liz was waiting for us with boxed up leftovers from dinner and dessert for our family to enjoy while we flew off on our honeymoon. Liz and every person working with her is really, truly, the best in the business. My husband and I agree that celebrating our wedding at Fringe was the easiest and best decision we made. We couldn't have asked for anything better.”
