I absolutely enjoy what I do, I've been providing solid high quality entertainment to couples all over the state of Iowa for almost 40 years! I started my DJ career in 1984 in Davenport Iowa, at that time I was using two turntables and had to haul big heavy crates of LPs with me. Now I use 2 specifically dedicated laptop computers that hold nearly 100,000 songs, wow isn't technology great!

I’m a classically trained, professional violinist, specializing in solo acoustic and electric violin. I love working with couples and event planners. I’ve been playing violin since I was 4 and I’ve been doing paid violin gigs since I was 10 as a soloist and with a quartet. I’ve traveled the world with my violin, including performing in England, Italy, China, Austria, South Korea, Germany and Japan. In 2021, I have over 30 scheduled events as a solo violinist, which is pretty good for a working attorney!

Andrew Hoyt is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Des Moines IA. Andrew is a K-5 vocal music teacher and believes that arts education of every kind is vital to a well rounded education. His favored instrument is the ukulele, specifically the Hawaiian KoAloha brand, who sponsor him by providing him with their first class instruments. His musical inspirations include John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and James Taylor among others. Recently signed to Indie label Golden Bear Records, home of The Well Pennies, he is tireless in his pursuit of creating a long lasting and sustainable music career both domestically and internationally.

After spending more than 8 years of DJing for another local company, and being told by clients that we should start our own company, we decided to take the leap into our own company. In 2009, Select Entertainment of Iowa was created. We value the service that we strive to provide our clients. We use professional equipment for all of our events. I got into DJing by accident. After learning that working as an Industrial Engineer in a fortune 500 company didn't bring me much fulfillment, a friend suggested I join his DJ company. His company supplied DJ services for over 200 weddings a year! After my first wedding gig I was hooked. It gave me purpose, and an outlet I never knew was possible. I quickly became the most requested DJ in the company and within my market. Now I DJ on my own, and I'm so blessed to be able to curate an atmosphere of joy where families can connect.
