Hi, I’m Grant, the photographer behind NarBear. The name? I love narwhals and bears. A very scientific branding process. I photograph weddings in Monterey, Carmel, San Jose, San Francisco, and San Luis Obispo. My style is timeless, romantic, and natural—with enough direction to make you look incredible without turning your wedding into a photoshoot. I personally edit every delivered image. No batch processing or cookie-cutter presets. Just real moments, beautiful light, and photographs you’ll love decades from now. My one wedding collection includes up to 10 hours of coverage, a 24-hour sneak peek, and a complimentary engagement session at Asilomar State Beach. Tell me about your plans. I’d love to hear your story.

“We honestly could not have asked for a better wedding photographer. From the very beginning, Grant made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely excited about the entire process. He paid attention to every detail, helped guide us naturally when needed, and somehow captured moments we didn’t even realize were happening. The photos turned out absolutely incredible — timeless, emotional, and beautifully edited without looking overly filtered or artificial. Every image feels like a piece of our story. Family and friends have not stopped complimenting them. What stood out most was how much he truly cared about giving us an amazing experience, not just delivering photos. He went above and beyond throughout the day and made everything feel effortless. If you want someone who is creative, professional, laid-back, and genuinely talented, NarBear Studios is the photographer to book. These are photos we’ll treasure forever.”

Hi, I'm Jenn Petty. I'm a wedding photographer based in Monterey, California and I travel worldwide capturing all people's love stories. I believe in equality, representation, and being kind to everyone. I believe in promoting self-love, confidence, body-neutrality, and general badassery into each of my clients. You don't need to always love your body or the way you look because that's just not realistic. But you shouldn't let it hold you back from enjoying life because you're so amazing and so so much more than your weight

“JeLau Photography was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding day. From the very first time we spoke, the owner Jen was so helpful, direct, and kind - making the entire process leading up to the big day smooth and stress-free. On the day itself, Jen kept me feeling calm and on schedule, and made every moment fun and enjoyable. The quality of their work is truly outstanding - the photos are absolutely beautiful and captured the perfection of our special day. Jen is an amazing person which makes her amazing to work with, and we are so grateful to have had her as our wedding photographer. We couldn't recommend JeLau Photography more highly!”

I'm Catherine, the photographer behind Asilomar Photography, based in Pacific Grove. I've spent over a decade photographing weddings and elopements throughout California. This coast is home to me, and I photograph it that way. I know the locations, the light, and how to keep your day on track without it ever feeling rushed. If you're getting married on this coast, let's talk.

Awarded Best of Zola
“This October, I worked with Elope in Monterey to have a small wedding with my immediate family in attendance. I feel so unbelievably lucky that Catherine was my photographer! I showed up to my wedding without ever meeting Catherine, but her warmth and friendliness made me feel comfortable immediately. As someone who is pretty shy in front of the camera (same goes for my partner), I was surprised by how comfortable I felt in front of Catherine's lens. She really let us be ourselves and joyfully captured all the silliness that makes us who we are. I also really appreciated her helpful directions and tips for posing, which she always delivered kindly. Catherine really made us feel like she was so happy to be there and for me, that really made my experience so pleasant and memorable! Even though our package only included 60 minutes of photography, she never made us feel rushed and she really went the extra mile to get us a large variety of shots and made sure we had many photos in various configurations of our group! I've received our photos, and they are stunning! I cannot thank Catherine enough for capturing the joy of our special day!”

“I had read in a wedding magazine that you should hire a photographer who feels like a friend so that you are happy they are there on the day. Danieka met me for coffee in Monterey before we signed our contract and she was SO nice. Once we signed the contract, she started to send me recommendations for other vendors, suggested wedding timelines, and little pieces of advice she had picked up from other weddings (not too often - just 3-4 really informative emails throughout the year that we were planning and she was really responsive if I had questions). On the wedding day, she was prompt, really kind and struck an incredible balance between making sure that we had the pictures we wanted, but also that we were able to enjoy the day and not spend too much time taking pictures. I felt so happy she was there. Now, one week after our wedding, with just the pictures to look back on, we are SO happy that we booked her.”

I never saw wedding photography in my future. I was supposed to be working in LA on big movie sets! But life has a funny way of giving you exactly what you never asked for and making it even better than you could ever dream of. So here I am—a super chill and really fun wedding photographer waiting to have the best platonic three-way you could ask for!

“Kassandra Months later, I am still stunned by Kassandra's artistry and professionalism. I was looking for a photographer who would capture the beauty of the day and make it special without it feeling posed or contrived, classy and simple, but emotional. She is a true master of light, composition, and people. Without a long list of required poses, she caught the moments and images I didn't know would be among my most cherished. On her professionalism, I cannot say enough. During the consultation phase, she was generous with her time and responsive. She kept in contact in the time leading up. Took initiative to coordinate with our coordinator and venue. My beach wedding was on a day the beach was PACKED. I'd expected lots of extras in the background. Nope. Thanks to her flawless editing, it looked as intimate as it felt. Despite this, she timely delivered the sneak peek and the photos (I didn't expect for A WHILE given the amount of work she put in). An aside on her as a person, she is a joyful light of a human that added to the love fest that was my wedding day.”

I've never been much for tradition, so you can imagine weddings were never really my "thing" when I first picked up a camera. Luckily, I found that the wedding industry has been evolving away from the old cookie-cutter format and that is what keeps me doing what I do. My favorite weddings are the ones where you & your partner's personalities show throughout the day rather than getting lost in all the things you "have" to do. I love being part of a day filled with so much love & excitement and what I aim to do is find you in all of it. Because weddings aren't about fitting into a mold anymore - they're about you getting to celebrate your love.

Awarded Best of Zola
“In our search for a wedding photographer, Sarah's artistic style caught my eye right away. She offers a blended service of candid and semi-posed photographs which matched how we hoped to capture our wedding day moments. From our first phone call and in-person consultation, Sarah put us at ease. She helped organize our style preferences and 'must-capture' moments as we planned for the wedding. Her questionnaire helped bring focus in the planning phase and on the wedding day, we knew we were in good hands. I highly recommend Sarah's services, she has an eye for the little details you want to remember and she was discrete during the ceremony and reception while snapping candids (which I appreciated as someone who gets nervous in front of a camera!). We are so pleased with our photos and had a great time working together with Sarah.”

I have a visceral reaction every time I witness love and true connection. It’s the electric feeling you get when you’re part of something that’s happening in the present moment. Being able to document that truly brings me to life. I pair best with couples who seek a documentary style and give me their trust to capture their moments. Your wedding day is not a performance. It’s about you, your big love, real life, and your closest people. The quiet moments, the loud ones, and all the in between . I document just that, in a photojournalist meets editorial kind of way that tells the story of your unique love.

Awarded Best of Zola
“Onawa has been our family photographer for the past 4 years. Throughout the past years she’s captured lifetime memories such as special’s birthdays, our engagement, wedding and now maternity photos. She has an unwavering ability to encapsulate candid moments that take us back to that exact memory with each of her photos. We cannot wait to continue to work with her as our family grows. Onawa is professional, kind and incredibly talented.”

The best way to describe my work is a mix of National Geographic and GQ/Vogue. I love to focus on the story telling aspect of wedding photography as I capture your day (think photo journalism meets fine art), but am always ready to jump in and pose you and your partner for those magazine style cover shots. Have you ever seen the movie Talladega Nights with Will Ferrell? There is a scene where he awkwardly holds his hands in front of the camera. Yea, that is pretty much all of us. Im there to keep those hands from looking awkward and making the two of you feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera.

“This is such a long overdue review, I don't know how to even express our gratitude and the beautiful quality of the work Ben does. We were lucky enough to find Ben to photograph our wedding in May 2025 up in big sur/santa Cruz and words can't truly capture how magnificent his photos are. The way that he captured our wedding, the emotion, the vibe and all of our loved ones truly are memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. What originally drew us to Ben's photography was the pure colors that his images have and the realness. We wanted to be able to relive the special moments of our wedding in a timeless unfiltered way and I can truly say that is the final product we got. Additionally, when we first chatted with Ben he was so chill and easy going and we immediately felt comfortable, and that was echoed on our wedding day. When our wedding venue changed in the last week before our big day and our timelines got messed up due to transportation the day of, Ben was happy to pull an audible and be ready for us at our new venue. AND our families loved him, he was so easy and fun to work with! 100000% recommend booking Ben for your wedding day and photography needs. Thank you so much Ben!!!-Alyssa & Gary”

“Natasha was so wonderful to work with from start to finish. We signed up for her microwedding package, which included an engagement shoot and six hours of photography for our backyard wedding. From the very beginning, she made everything so easy and enjoyable. During our consultation call, we talked about our vision for the day and what we were hoping for our special day. At our engagement shoot, she made us feel completely at ease, capturing us naturally and authentically as a couple. On our wedding day, she went above and beyond in every way. She arrived early to scope out my in-laws home, planning out where the best spots on the property would be. Throughout the day, she was calm, organized, and so easy to be around, giving gentle direction when needed but also letting moments unfold naturally. She managed to capture every detail: from the quiet moments of getting ready to the laughter during family portraits, the ceremony tears, and every moment in between! She blended in seamlessly with our guests, which made everyone feel comfortable and resulted in the most genuine, candid, beautiful photos. We received sneak peek photos a couple days later and were blown away by how beautiful they turned out. Every photo told a story and brought us right back to how the day felt. We couldn’t be happier with our experience, Natasha is talented, professional, and has such a warm presence. We feel incredibly lucky to have had her capture our love story and we cannot recommend her enough!”

“Heather is not only an incredibly gifted photographer and a seasoned pro – she is also a kind, thoughtful and empathetic person who is truly a joy to be around. From the beginning, she took the time to get to know us as a couple and understand our vision. Heather invested time in calls with us, sent us a thorough questionnaire and elopement guide, thoughtful location choices, and carefully reviewed our Pinterest board, genuinely showing curiosity and care about what mattered most to us throughout the entire process. She has a rare ability to zoom out and understand the overall vibe we wanted to create, while also zooming in to capture subtle moments and meaningful details. Heather is skilled and professional – she knows how to maximize every moment and get the best shots quickly to make the most of such a special day, and she does it in such a human way; we never felt rushed, we just knew we were getting a ton of great shots. And Heather didn’t just deliver the shots we asked for - she gave us so many gorgeous, unexpected moments and angles that we’ll treasure forever. Heather’s warmth and positivity were contagious, and she helped us stay grounded and joyful throughout the entire day. Having her by our side truly elevated the experience. She and her fiancé Mike are a wonderful duo – so comfortable to be around, talented and clearly passionate about what they do. We feel endlessly grateful to have had Heather and Mike with us for such an intimate and important day. Seeking Venture Photo has our highest recommendation!”
