The Blooming Twig Floral Design
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Washington, DC

We are a couture floral design company based in the Washington, DC Metro. Our talented designers are dedicated to elevating celebratory experiences with exquisitely chic floral designs for our clients. We work collaboratively with our wedding couples to ensure that every element of each couple's design is crafted with their love stories in mind. Our wedding packages include a wide variety of floral arrangements that add exquisite beauty to our clients’ event spaces. Using premium-quality florals, our designers ensure that every creation elegantly balances colors and style for a unique, eye-catching work of art!

I highly recommend this vendor (The Blooming Twig) for all decorating needs. For my wedding, Trysh made multiple visits to the venue to measure and ensure proper placements of all decor. She listened and did not recoil or back down when I made some challenging requests. On the day of the wedding we had to pivot and change the ceremony from outside to inside, due to weather. The venue did not allow her the time needed to get everything done, but she got it done in spite of. She brought all of my ideas and pictured examples to fruition, creating an absolutely beautiful look.

Working with Poppy Flowers was such a breeze from start to finish. The team got back to us fast and answered every question we had, making the whole planning process feel easy and stress-free. What impressed us most was how experienced they are. The really understood our vision and brought it to life with color and beauty that shaped our entire day. Uncloudy Studio
Rating: 5.0 (9 reviews)
Washington, DC
  • Starts at $3,000

My passion for floral design began over twenty years ago in a greenhouse in a small Michigan town, traveled through the mountains of Colorado and Arizona, to the beaches of Southern California, settling in Washington, DC. Education in graphic design has helped to sharpen my attention to detail and given me an eye for color and composition.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jolie and her incredible floral arrangements for our wedding! From our very first meeting, Jolie made the entire process enjoyable and stress-free. She took the time to understand our vision AND budget and brought it to life in the most beautiful way. The flowers for the chuppah and tables were absolutely stunning, each arrangement was vibrant, fresh, and perfectly matched our vision. Invest in flowers, it's worth it! Jolie's creativity and attention to detail truly set her apart, and she went above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. It was a pleasure working with her, and we’re so grateful for her dedication, kindness and talent. If you’re looking for a florist in DC who will make your wedding dreams come true, look no further than Jolie! Thank you, Jolie, for making our day even more magical!

ROSIE Floral
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
Washington, DC
  • Starts at $1,500

I’m Rachel, the founder of ROSIE. I was born on the Big Island of Hawai‘i and raised between the volcanic Pacific, the desert landscapes of Albuquerque, and the energy of Los Angeles — influences that continue to shape my approach to floral design. I come from a fine arts background, and that training allows me to create floral designs that feel both visually compelling and deeply intentional. The name ROSIE is deeply personal to me — a tribute to childhood imagination, sentimentality, and the orange cat who stayed by my side for 18 years. That sense of nostalgia and emotional connection is at the heart of everything I create.

I cannot recommend Rosie Rosie Florals enough! Rachel did an absolutely incredible job bringing my vision to life. From the very beginning, she was so kind, responsive, and easy to work with. She really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and somehow made it even more beautiful than I imagined. Rachel has such a creative eye and an amazing talent for designing floral arrangements. She perfectly replicated my inspiration while adding her own artistic touch to make everything feel unique and elegant. What I appreciated most was that she truly listened to my vision while also being mindful of my budget. She found ways to create a gorgeous, high-end look without making me feel pressured to overspend. I would recommend Rachel to anyone and can’t wait to work with her again!

Ash to Oak
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Starts at $7,500
  • Serves Washington, DC

As owner and Lead Designer for Ash to Oak Floristry, I believe flowers are an invitation to engage with beauty that transforms mundane moments into deep delight. It is our joy to bring them to you! Our team will provide seasonal, garden inspired floral design perfect for your wedding day!

Awarded Best of Zola
We used Ash to Oak for an a la carte flower order for our wedding--we ordered a bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages, all of which looked fantastic! I agonized searching for an a la carte florist who would also take some minor input on color and design (many just say you get what you get based on availability), so thank god a friend recommended Ash to Oak! Avery accepted my very simple color and design preferences and created beautiful pieces. She also was able to provide delivery to the venue on the wedding day, another rarity I noticed in my a la carte florist research. I cannot recommend Ash to Oak highly enough!

Hailey at HM Floral Designs is an incredibly talented florist, and I could not recommend her enough!!! She did the florals for our wedding day and absolutely CRUSHED every part of it. AND she does not cost one trillion dollars like many other wedding florists. On our initial call she told me she was a wedding florist for working girlies and I can 100% attest to that statement! Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (101 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Washington, DC

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
We used the “Full Monty” package for our wedding and DIY-ed all our florals. Our florist, Hattie, did a great job listening to our vision and responded to all of our questions quickly! We explored options together, and she was able to help us get so much more than we would have with a florist and with the exact color palette we were looking at. Neither of us are great at design/DIY, but we felt very supported by the plethora of tutorials, recipes, and videos to create our flowers. With our florals, we made 6 pillar arrangements, 2 bridal bouquets, 8 bridesmaid bouquets, 3 corsages, a boutonniere, 2 medium centerpieces, and close to 100 bud vases. My maid of honor made my bridal bouquet, which made it even more special than it would have if a florist had made it. The flowers arrived at our AirBnb without any issues, and we lost barely any florals! I will say if DIY-ing flowers, whether with Flower Moxie or not, make sure you have people to help - especially with getting the florals out of the wrapping, in buckets, and cutting stems. We had our crews help, and it still looked overwhelming at first, so I can see how it can be stressful. We had our day-of-coordinator set everything up florals-wise on our wedding day, and everything looked GORGEOUS. If you have the people to help and are looking for more florals for less money, we would definitely recommend DIY-ing with flower moxie
