The Blooming Twig Floral Design
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Washington, DC

We are a couture floral design company based in the Washington, DC Metro. Our talented designers are dedicated to elevating celebratory experiences with exquisitely chic floral designs for our clients. We work collaboratively with our wedding couples to ensure that every element of each couple's design is crafted with their love stories in mind. Our wedding packages include a wide variety of floral arrangements that add exquisite beauty to our clients’ event spaces. Using premium-quality florals, our designers ensure that every creation elegantly balances colors and style for a unique, eye-catching work of art!

I highly recommend this vendor (The Blooming Twig) for all decorating needs. For my wedding, Trysh made multiple visits to the venue to measure and ensure proper placements of all decor. She listened and did not recoil or back down when I made some challenging requests. On the day of the wedding we had to pivot and change the ceremony from outside to inside, due to weather. The venue did not allow her the time needed to get everything done, but she got it done in spite of. She brought all of my ideas and pictured examples to fruition, creating an absolutely beautiful look.

Poppy Flowers was a great choice for our small wedding. Their twilight template was exactly the color palette I was looking for and they had options for everything I needed at an affordable price (in comparison to other Washington DC florists). Lisa Lee Florals
Rating: 5.0 (19 reviews)
Washington, DC
  • Starts at $5,000

Founded by Lisa Lee after leaving a decade-long career in digital marketing to pursue her dream in floral design, she hopes to inspire others with the same love she has for florals. You can expect to find dreamy, nature-inspired designs.

Awarded Best of Zola
Where to start with Lisa? She knocked it out of the park. From our very first meeting, where she brought inspiration and options to look at (which was exceedingly useful for my husband and I, who required visuals to effectively brainstorm), Lisa was the epitome of professional and reliable. Always easy to reach. She was also flexible, bringing flower petals and a chuppah at the last minute. Her vision for our wedding at the Kennedy Center REACH really tied together our theme, elevating the event. Though, of course, her work also speaks for itself... Uncloudy Studio
Rating: 5.0 (9 reviews)
Washington, DC
  • Starts at $3,000

My passion for floral design began over twenty years ago in a greenhouse in a small Michigan town, traveled through the mountains of Colorado and Arizona, to the beaches of Southern California, settling in Washington, DC. Education in graphic design has helped to sharpen my attention to detail and given me an eye for color and composition.

We do not have enough good words to share about Jolie! She is an incredible artist with florals, and every single detail was perfection. She worked closely with us to ensure we were getting our exact vision, and was an incredible partner in helping us talk through and pinpoint precisely what we wanted to achieve with colors, textures, styling to ensure we got it, but also didn't necessarily spend any more than we needed to, which was just such stand-up behavior from a vendor. The florals were one of the most complimented parts of our day, as well as when we were sharing pictures of our wedding day. I can't even begin to count how many family, friends, colleagues who weren't in attendance actually openly gaped at how beautiful the florals were in the photos! And more than that, she was so kind throughout. She humored the bride's 90-year old grandmother who went rogue and decided to show up to the venue so early, Jolie was still in the midst of setting up, and showed her nothing but kindness and some courtesy laughs. We have since gotten the bouquet and boutonniere pressed and framed so we can treasure the beautiful color and life that Jolie brought to our wedding day forever!

ROSIE Floral
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
Washington, DC
  • Starts at $1,500

I’m Rachel, the founder of ROSIE. I was born on the Big Island of Hawai‘i and raised between the volcanic Pacific, the desert landscapes of Albuquerque, and the energy of Los Angeles — influences that continue to shape my approach to floral design. I come from a fine arts background, and that training allows me to create floral designs that feel both visually compelling and deeply intentional. The name ROSIE is deeply personal to me — a tribute to childhood imagination, sentimentality, and the orange cat who stayed by my side for 18 years. That sense of nostalgia and emotional connection is at the heart of everything I create.

I cannot recommend Rosie Rosie Florals enough! Rachel did an absolutely incredible job bringing my vision to life. From the very beginning, she was so kind, responsive, and easy to work with. She really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and somehow made it even more beautiful than I imagined. Rachel has such a creative eye and an amazing talent for designing floral arrangements. She perfectly replicated my inspiration while adding her own artistic touch to make everything feel unique and elegant. What I appreciated most was that she truly listened to my vision while also being mindful of my budget. She found ways to create a gorgeous, high-end look without making me feel pressured to overspend. I would recommend Rachel to anyone and can’t wait to work with her again!

  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Washington, DC

Concrete Rose Floral was established by myself, Travis Gabriel, Owner and Creative Manager. I am a well rounded industry professional with 15 years of experience in the floral industry. I have refined my craft working with many of the top designers in the area. As the manager of a floral shop for years my tens of thousands of hours of hands on experience have prepared me for any challenge that may arise. In addition I have worked in the wholesale aspect of the industry gaining an extensive knowledge of all features of floral and supplies to produce the best possible aesthetic for clients as well as source the best quality.

From our first conversation, Travis and the Concrete Rose Floral team proved they really listened to what we wanted for our wedding. They were responsive to every question and detail we brought up, and their thoughtfulness showed in every decision. The chuppah they created was exactly what I'd been dreaming of, and the floral arrangements throughout our venue—from the entry to the bars to our tables—were stunning. What impressed us most was how they went above and beyond what we asked for, adding special touches that made our day feel truly personal. If you're looking for a florist who cares about getting it right, Travis and his team are worth every penny. We can't recommend them enough.

Awarded Best of Zola
As a bride and former wedding coordinator, I can honestly say Savannah from Mountain Mama Florals is an absolute treasure! From the moment we started working together, her kindness and genuine care made the whole process feel so special. She was patient with all my questions, open to my vision, and took the time to explain floral details I didn’t know much about — making me feel completely confident every step of the way. One of the most touching things she did was go above and beyond to over-process my favorite flower, the stargazer lily, so I could have it in my bouquet. We had someone very sensitive to strong smells, and I thought I wouldn’t be able to include it, but Savannah made sure it wouldn’t bother them. You can truly feel how much she cares about her clients and how deeply she loves what she does. That kindness meant the world to me — and my husband loved her just as much! On our wedding day, the florals were nothing short of breathtaking. I received so many compliments, and it was all thanks to Savannah’s incredible talent and heart. She took our vision and brought it to life in a way that was even more beautiful than I dreamed. Throughout the entire process, Savannah was responsive, respectful, and simply a joy to work with. If you want a florist who is not only gifted but also kind, thoughtful, and truly invested in making your day magical, Mountain Mama Florals is the one.

Black Calla Events
Rating: 5.0 (9 reviews)
  • Starts at $2,000
  • Serves Washington, DC

Owner Diana Skenderovic, has always loved flowers. As a little girl, she enjoyed every bloom in her mother’s garden. She fulfilled her lifelong dream when she became a part of one of the leading floral design companies in the Washington, D.C. area. As the Director for Special Events and Weddings, for 12 years she was part of the design team and truly loved her job. Diana has always enjoyed meeting new clients, designing and organizing, and finally bringing clients’ vision to reality.

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot say enough good things about Diana and her team at Black Calla Events. My wedding was a Covid wedding originally scheduled for May of 2020 and up rooted due to the pandemic. Diana stuck with us the entire time as we navigated moving our date not once, but twice. She was beyond supportive as our original venue went out of business just three months before our finalized date of November 2021. Due to this last minute pivot to a new venue, we no longer had early set up access to the new venue as originally planned with our first venue. The Black Calla Team went above the call of duty to help to set up our venue along with our flowers to make vision a reality the day of our wedding. It would not have been possible without their flexibility and support. I do not think you can get this kind of service from a huge floral company. This is a small, family run operation that values their customers and their artist creativity. Their dedication to your day and vision is evident from first consultation to the start of your ceremony. I cannot recommend Black Calla Events enough and grateful every time I look back at my photos and the beautiful flowers that made the day complete!

Summer Blooms Co is a boutique floral design studio based out of Northern Virginia, specializing in sculptural, contemporary floral design that blurs the line between nature and art. From the very beginning, Summer immediately understood the vision I had, and brought it to life even more beautifully than I could have imagined. I wanted our flowers to feel chic, and editorial, and she absolutely nailed it. Every arrangement felt thoughtful and architectural, from the bouquets, to the individual corsages, to the reception florals. Her process was incredibly collaborative leading up to our wedding- sourcing and tailoring our desired florals to be exactly what we wanted. Seeing the flowers for the first time on our wedding day was such a special moment. They were exactly what I had envisioned. She has such an incredible eye and sense of style, and I felt completely confident trusting her creatively. I cannot recommend her enough. If you’re looking for wedding florals that feel sophisticated, modern, and anything but ordinary, she is amazing at what she does. I’m so grateful she was part of our day!

OMG! I absolutely love Katy. From the initial appointment to determine what our vision was for the wedding and reception decor, I felt very at ease with Katy. Katy took great care to try and learn what my vision was for the wedding and how to use her expertise to create what I wanted. I liked that - and this enabled us to truly create a custom one of a kind look for our big day. Katy was kind, accommodating and responsive to emails, texts and phone calls. I would bounce things off of Katy and without hesitation, she would first clarify what my vision was, and then add her input based on her expert eye for detail, color coordination, etc. On the day of my wedding, I broke down into tears at the beautiful, dreamy atmosphere that Katy and her team had created for my spouse and I. It was literally everything thing I had dreamed of; it had the glitz, glamour, bling, sparkle, romance and more than I wanted. Katy even added touches here and there that she felt were needed to add more beauty to the venue. She exercised her creative rights. My guests could not and have not stopped talking about the beauty of it all. Additionally, a few days before the wedding, I was not pleased with a mock up of my bouquet (provided by another vendor) - and Katy to the rescue! Within about 3-4 business days, Katy and her staff PERSONALLY delivered the most beautiful, sparkling bouquet that I have ever seen (along with a jr. bouquet and corsages). She made it her business to make me happy. I am truly sad that I won't be talking to Katy as much any more since the wedding is now over. Katy delivered on ALLLLLLL levels and I can't say enough about her. Thank you soo much Katy. You will forever be a better part of our memories. If you have the pleasure to work with Katy, you will not be disappointed, I promise you. I really felt that Katy put her heart into this....and the results show it.

Hailey at HM Floral Designs is an incredibly talented florist, and I could not recommend her enough!!! She did the florals for our wedding day and absolutely CRUSHED every part of it. Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (101 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Washington, DC

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
Because of all the florals already there due to the nature of the venue, and all the florals and plants they filled in, I didn’t feel the need to have a ton of florals, so I did them myself! I found Flower Moxie here on Zola and they were so great! If you are thinking about DIY’ing your florals, I would definitely recommend looking into Flower Moxie! They have some set packages you can chose from, but I upgraded to the highest personalized package and it was so worth it. I got to have a phone call with the florist and they put together a custom package, and they definitely killed it, the flowers were exactly what I had in mind. There were so many resources and they went through everything so well I felt so prepared and we had almost no issues putting all the florals together. All of our florals still looked fresh and beautiful on our wedding day, and some of the florals in our arch arrangements lasted WEEKS. A word of caution though: it is definitely a lot of work, so just ensure that you have enough time in town before your wedding (i.e. you can’t fly in the day before your ceremony, if you are traveling to that location) and enough people to help you (for putting together, transporting and anything day of). I actually really enjoyed getting to do my florals myself, and would highly recommend if you are creative and DIYing your wedding!

Jen was AMAZING to work with! When it came to flowers for my wedding, I had NO IDEA what I wanted. She was very patient with me and helped talk me through my vision. She gave me flowers to pick from, talked about how big I wanted my bouquet and how much greenery I wanted, and then when I could find colors I liked in swatches, she color-matched the colors I wanted from an inspo pic I found online! She was very professional and patient with me, even when my plans changed or I needed to add to my order.  I am not the best at putting together a bouquet. I am also someone who likes control, especially when it came to planning my wedding. I was thankful that I was able to give Jen the reins, tell her what I wanted, and watch her make my dreams come true. When I first saw my flowers, I was speechless. She truly did make my floral dreams come true, and now I get to keep my bouquet for the rest of my life! A wooden flower bouquet from Jen is the way to go!
