Poppy Flowers was a great choice for our small wedding. Their twilight template was exactly the color palette I was looking for and they had options for everything I needed at an affordable price (in comparison to other Washington DC florists). I was very happy with the quality of the flowers and the set-up process.

Mary is the BEST in the business!! She is so so creative and the best to work with. I had an idea of something organic and natural to the area and she fully transformed my idea into the most beautiful vision possible. I can’t stop talking about my bouquet - it was a piece of art. And she had the idea of each bridesmaid having a small bouquet of one flower from my bouquet - such an amazing idea! Also the centerpiece were all different which was stunning visually. Everyone at the wedding keeps asking me who did my florals and I recommend Mary to everyone!!

I absolutely LOVED working with Margie. To start, I had a large floral request with really big dreams and reusing of flowers. Margie had no problem with all of this, and was able to provide me a floral quote that was 1/3 of what I heard back from other vendors. And her execution was perfection, she didnt skimp on a thing. Super affordable vendor, while also making beautiful arrangements and dreams come true. Margie even stayed to help relocate items from the ceremony to the reception. Cannot recommend enough

Black Calla Events created all of the florals for my micro wedding that was held inside of my sister’s home. The colors and floral used were beautiful and fresh. They also created a circular arch used during my ceremony and for pictures. They also created multiple pieces that decorated areas throughout the event space. They were also able to create florals for our parents as well as the children to wear during our wedding so that these guests felt extra special on the day of. Everything was exactly as I envisioned for my bouquet and they incorporated all of my wants including having wild flowers, greenery, as well as coordinating with my overall color scheme. They are very professional and efficient. Highly recommend working with Black Calla Events!

I highly recommend this vendor (The Blooming Twig) for all decorating needs. For my wedding, Trysh made multiple visits to the venue to measure and ensure proper placements of all decor. She listened and did not recoil or back down when I made some challenging requests. On the day of the wedding we had to pivot and change the ceremony from outside to inside, due to weather. The venue did not allow her the time needed to get everything done, but she got it done in spite of. She brought all of my ideas and pictured examples to fruition, creating an absolutely beautiful look.

    Woodland Floral Design Co.
    Rating: 5.0 (78 reviews)
    • Serves Washington, DC

Proud Cat & Dog Mom // Your New Wedding Vendor BFF It’s never been just about pretty flowers to me. I started out in social work because I wanted to serve and connect with others. I first entered the floral design world as an intern in 2016 and noticed a lack of originality in designs and a need for more connection between the florist and the couple. When I started WFD in 2019, I decided to prioritize both artistic designs and building long-term relationships with each couple. Planning my own wedding in 2021 gave me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of receiving creative expertise and genuine support from wedding vendors.

From the moment I said yes, I knew florals would be the highlight of decor for our wedding day. Flowers hold such sentimental value for me because I’d spend my springs planting hundreds of annuals with my baba: zinnias, dahlias, snapdragons, marigolds, begonias, etc. Going to my grandparents house was like going to a magical flower garden, and I wanted to recreate that feeling for our guests. After seeing Misha’s previous floral designs, I knew she would be able to bring what I had in mind to life; she did that and then some. The florals she lined my aisle with were exactly what I pictured: lush, whimsical, fun and filled with purples, oranges and greens. Those florals were then repurposed as centerpieces in the main reception tent and somehow became even more mystical underneath that lighting. On our way to the tent, we were amazed at the flowers on the seating chart wall. Dahlias and snapdragons, two of my absolute favorites… in colors that left me feeling the moody, romantic vibe I wanted and had described in design meetings with Misha leading up to the day. The flowers that adorned the tent’s entrance and up the poles created the most magical atmosphere. Sitting at our sweetheart table, we were surrounded by more florals that were repurposed from the ceremony; this time I believe from the gazebo, one of the most sentimental pieces of the day. Our reception tent really felt like a magical flower garden filled with our favorite people; exactly what we wanted for our wedding day.

    Bazarr Blossoms
    Rating: 5.0 (14 reviews)
    • Starts at $3,000
    • Serves Washington, DC

My love for floral design began inside the horticulture classroom at my high school. That classroom played a pivotal role in allowing me to be creative in ways that I never had been before. When I left for college, My goal was to study business in order to operate my own Floral Business but I quickly lost track of that dream. The pandemic served as a wake up call for me just like it did for so many others. Allowing me to rediscover my love for flowers and all things beautiful. Bazarr Blossoms is more than a business its a passion that allows me to stay true to that teenager who once created and dreamed inside that high school classroom.

    Awarded Best of Zola
Working with Bazarr was an absolute dream! From the very first consultation, she understood my vision perfectly: wildflowers that felt natural, whimsical, and uniquely us. The bouquets, centerpieces, and boutineers were nothing short of breathtaking—like they had been picked fresh from a magical meadow. Bazarr brought my dream wedding to life with a stunning array of wildflowers that added a touch of effortless beauty to every corner of our venue. Each bloom was thoughtfully chosen and arranged with such care and creativity, making the entire space feel alive and enchanting. Beyond the gorgeous flowers, Bazarr was an absolute delight to work with—warm, professional, and incredibly attentive to every detail. She even was totally okay with a last minute change to a color of a boutineer! She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, being the first vendor to arrive at our wedding venue! If you're looking for a florist who can turn your floral dreams into reality, look no further than Bazarr. I can't recommend her enough! Thank you for making our wedding day truly magical.

The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!
