Poppy was just what I wanted for our wedding! I very quickly and easily found the flowers I loved and wanted and it was all online or over the phone! Anna, the floral expert assigned to our order, was very responsive and when we had our meeting with her, she was very helpful in making sure we were ordering exactly what we wanted. I absolutely loved the blush traditional bouquet for me and my bridesmaids and the blush romantic garden flower clouds. The clouds were PERFECT to top each of the wine barrels that served as our altar. We were complimented a lot on the clouds. Overall, could not have been happier with Poppy. I would highly recommend for your wedding!

Uncloudy Studio
Rating: 5.0 (8 reviews)
Washington, DC
  • Starts at $3,000

My passion for floral design began over twenty years ago in a greenhouse in a small Michigan town, traveled through the mountains of Colorado and Arizona, to the beaches of Southern California, settling in Washington, DC. Education in graphic design has helped to sharpen my attention to detail and given me an eye for color and composition.

Jolie is an absolute ARTIST and a true joy to work with for our wedding! From the very beginning, she completely understood and embraced our vision of leaning into the holidays. She helped us refine our ideas, always coming up with thoughtful suggestions while being respectful of our choices every step of the way. Our planning process with Jolie was smooth and enjoyable, thanks to her pleasant and organized approach. In the months leading up to the wedding, she was thorough yet never overly complicated, keeping things clear and straightforward. The planning phone calls were perfectly balanced—just enough to ensure everything was sorted without adding unnecessary stress. Jolie even went above and beyond by attending our venue walk-through and doing additional site visits on her own to make sure every detail would be perfect. On the wedding day, Jolie delivered beautiful personal bouquets, and our venue set up far exceeded our expectations. She created the most gorgeous arrangements for the mantel that we married in front of, as well as gorgeous and creative centerpieces that fit our holiday vision. Beyond her immense talent, Jolie is bright, caring, and bubbly—a true light throughout the process. Her work is not only breathtaking but also an incredible value for the care and dedication she puts into every detail. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and would recommend Jolie wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a florist who’s as passionate and talented as she is kind. Margie and the Petal Burst Design team were hands-down one of the easiest and most enjoyable vendors to work with on our big day. From our initial planning meeting, Margie impressed us with her thoughtful questions and attention to detail. She took the time to understand our ideal floral vision and then elevated it with creative ideas and options we hadn’t even considered, making us even more excited for the wedding. Her pricing was incredibly fair and transparent, which made budgeting a breeze. We always knew exactly what we were paying for, and that clarity was a huge help during the planning process. Margie was also flexible with last-minute changes. When I decided to add another color to our original green-and-white palette, she was immediately on board. She understood our vision perfectly and brought it to life with precision. I found myself saying, “OMG, this is straight from my Pinterest board!” multiple times throughout the day because the bouquets and arrangements were exactly what I had imagined. Guests and venue staff raved about how beautiful everything looked. Margie was a joy to work with from the moment she arrived. She collaborated seamlessly with our day-of coordinator to set up the ceremony and reception spaces, and our coordinator had nothing but praise for her friendliness and work ethic. Margie is not only communicative and easygoing, but truly a master of her craft. Flowers were a huge priority for me, and she absolutely nailed it. I also loved that she provided taper candles and gorgeous vases, ensuring every detail of our setup was picture-perfect. Five out of five stars for the Petal Burst Design team—I truly recommend their services! If you are lucky enough to get the chance to work with Margie on your wedding day, I highly recommend it!

Black Calla Events
Rating: 5.0 (9 reviews)
  • Starts at $2,000
  • Serves Washington, DC

Owner Diana Skenderovic, has always loved flowers. As a little girl, she enjoyed every bloom in her mother’s garden. She fulfilled her lifelong dream when she became a part of one of the leading floral design companies in the Washington, D.C. area. As the Director for Special Events and Weddings, for 12 years she was part of the design team and truly loved her job. Diana has always enjoyed meeting new clients, designing and organizing, and finally bringing clients’ vision to reality.

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot say enough good things about Diana and her team at Black Calla Events. My wedding was a Covid wedding originally scheduled for May of 2020 and up rooted due to the pandemic. Diana stuck with us the entire time as we navigated moving our date not once, but twice. She was beyond supportive as our original venue went out of business just three months before our finalized date of November 2021. Due to this last minute pivot to a new venue, we no longer had early set up access to the new venue as originally planned with our first venue. The Black Calla Team went above the call of duty to help to set up our venue along with our flowers to make vision a reality the day of our wedding. It would not have been possible without their flexibility and support. I do not think you can get this kind of service from a huge floral company. This is a small, family run operation that values their customers and their artist creativity. Their dedication to your day and vision is evident from first consultation to the start of your ceremony. I cannot recommend Black Calla Events enough and grateful every time I look back at my photos and the beautiful flowers that made the day complete!

Katy did an absolutely incredible job with our wedding florals. We provided her a few inspiration pictures of the look that we were going for and she took it from there and designed the arrangements to perfection. Katy was very flexible and easy to work with, even when we made some super last minute changes (to include the boutonnieres, which we had completely forgotten about until days before the wedding). On the wedding day, Katy stuck around hours after setting up the arrangements to make sure everything was perfect when our vendors flipped the room from the ceremony to reception. This speaks volumes to Katy's dedication to her clients. Thank you Katy!

Woodland Floral Design Co.
Rating: 5.0 (77 reviews)
  • Serves Washington, DC

Proud Cat & Dog Mom // Your New Wedding Vendor BFF It’s never been just about pretty flowers to me. I started out in social work because I wanted to serve and connect with others. I first entered the floral design world as an intern in 2016 and noticed a lack of originality in designs and a need for more connection between the florist and the couple. When I started WFD in 2019, I decided to prioritize both artistic designs and building long-term relationships with each couple. Planning my own wedding in 2021 gave me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of receiving creative expertise and genuine support from wedding vendors.

Misha is the absolute best! She was a vendor where I actually looked forward to calls with her because she just gets it. We hired Misha, looking for a colorful, maximalist wedding, and boy, did she deliver. She took my Pinterest boards and our guidance and gave us florals beyond our wildest dreams. Along the wa,y she was so kind and thoughtful, always asking how wedding planning was going and genuinely listening to the answer (even if it wasn't "it's going amazing").

The Faux Bouquets
Rating: 5.0 (42 reviews)
  • Starts at $175

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

The Faux Bouquets were absolutely fantastic for our wedding! From the very beginning, they were awesome to work with - extremely responsive and so helpful in guiding us through all the floral options. Their communication style was great, and they really listened to our vision and preferences. The end product was stunning - the bouquets, centerpieces, and other arrangements were so pretty and went beautifully with our color scheme. We were thrilled with how everything turned out, and would highly recommend The Faux Bouquets to any couple planning their wedding.

Cassidy put together the florals for our wedding this weekend. We ordered arbor flowers that Cassidy recycled to our cake and sweetheart table. Unfortunately the wind during the first half of our reception was a little WILD so my current photos of that aren’t able to do it justice until my photos come in. However, I have some photos of the flowers before I sent them off for preservation as well. We also used Cassidy for rentals of pillar candles and bud vases. She assembled those and had welcome table greens for us, my bouquet, and my husband’s boutonniere. I was constantly adding things to the list like some spray flowers for my photographers for my flat lays. But she managed it. Cassidy attended our walk through to make sure that she saw the property and knew where our flowers would be doing. She provided some inspiration photos based on what I wanted and she delivered on that for sure! I think the centerpieces in particular were EXACTLY what I was looking for. She really nailed those and they turned out beautifully. When we didn’t know what we wanted or struggled to get a good vision going, she made some suggestions and went through the pros and cons with me of options. It was great to get her input on things and also trust her perspective as it relates to florals. Thank you so much for a great day!

Ket was absolutely lovely to work with. She did an amazing job at our perfect, pink, antique-inspired wedding. Ket made me feel completely at ease and truly took the time to explain things to me and understand our vision. As an anxious bride, I really appreciated our several planning calls, tablescape mockup, her virtual CAD modeling, and that she even invited me to go to the floral wholesaler with her to select our roses. I also loved being able to follow the behind-the-scenes process of her creating the arrangements on Instagram. Ket’s positive attitude, calming words, and kind smile during even the crazy parts of our wedding day truly touched me. Despite rain, Ket and her team set up our arbor through the storm and in record time (and with a baby on her back). She truly is a super woman! Our other vendors commented that they’d never seen anyone put up an arbor so fast and beautifully. Everything turned out even more beautifully than we could have hoped for or dreamed of! Ket was able to donate our roses to a nursing home after our wedding which was the sweetest touch. We appreciated Ket’s commitment to sustainable practices. Ket is incredibly kind, helpful, patient, talented, and passionate. We would recommend One Last Avocado Floral Design to all of our friends.

Bazarr Blossoms
Rating: 5.0 (14 reviews)
  • Starts at $3,000

My love for floral design began inside the horticulture classroom at my high school. That classroom played a pivotal role in allowing me to be creative in ways that I never had been before. When I left for college, My goal was to study business in order to operate my own Floral Business but I quickly lost track of that dream. The pandemic served as a wake up call for me just like it did for so many others. Allowing me to rediscover my love for flowers and all things beautiful. Bazarr Blossoms is more than a business its a passion that allows me to stay true to that teenager who once created and dreamed inside that high school classroom.

Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in every arrangement, from the stunning bouquets, which literally brought me to tears, to the exquisite table centerpieces. Each piece was a work of art, capturing the essence of our style and the ambiance we wanted to create. The flowers were fresh, vibrant, and beautifully arranged, adding an unforgettable touch of elegance to our special day. What truly sets Bazarr apart, though, was her responsiveness and flexibility. Throughout the planning process, we had many changing ideas and evolving wants, and she handled everything with grace and patience. She listened carefully to our desires, offered invaluable suggestions, and adapted seamlessly to any adjustments we requested. Her professionalism and dedication were evident in every interaction, making the planning process smooth, enjoyable, and stress free- what more can you ask for!! We genuinely cannot imagine having a better experience with any other florist. Her talent, passion, and commitment to excellence made our wedding day so incredibly special. Sarah and her team were so great! We used them for both our flowers and coordination services. I don’t know much about flowers and Sarah worked with me to figure out what I like. She also GREW THEM HERSELF!! I saw a fully floral arch on Pinterest and she brought that to life (see pics). For coordination and planning she was also so helpful. I texted her all the time with questions and she was very responsive. She also coordinated all the other vendors, confirming things with them and managing all the contracts. I didn’t know how to do this and it felt overwhelming at the end so it was so nice to have it off my plate. The day itself also went off without a hitch!
