Petals and Promises, LLC was established in 2005 by Lisa Sommer out of her love of flowers and a desire to explore her innate creativity. In her encore career, she has studied with some of the world’s most prestigious and influential designers, including Holly Chapple, Steve Moore, Robbie Honey, Ariella Chezar, Kianna Underwood, Shane Connolly, David Beahm, Karen Tran, and Maxine Owens. Petals and Promises is a member of the renowned Chapel Designers and has been named The Washingtonian's Best of Vendor from 2016-1026. Petals and Promises serves Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia

I think the one thing that has made me successful is my belief that I can connect with a bride and interpret her thoughts and vision for her wedding-day floral designs. Working in the area of Health Care Sciences for many years taught me the importance of listening carefully to my clients. It is a skill that I have used with every wedding I have designed!

    The perfect touch!

    Our wedding was a small, intimate affair and our first as a family, so we wanted everything to feel special. From our first conversation, Lisa at Petals and Promises made the entire process smooth with her prompt responses and clear guidance on what would work best for our vision. She created a stunning bridal bouquet that was exactly what we imagined, and the wreaths on our church doors set the perfect tone as guests arrived. Yes, we offer breakdown services along with delivery, set up, and flower transfer from the ceremony to the reception.
Yes! After the contract is signed, we provide one mockup, typically a table centerpiece. We prefer to create this between 30 and 60 days before the wedding to take into account seasonal flowers and time to make adjustments before the final proposal and vendor commitments are due. I do not charge for my time, only the cost of the flowers which you may keep

. We do phone consults to get a feel for your style and vision. You should provide details about your wedding, such as your budget and style, as well as any inspiration for your wedding flowers. This can include images of your venue, photos of your wedding attire, fabric, your color palette, photos from social media, and more. The more information and ideas you provide, the better we can assist you. After your consultation, we will prepare a proposal with pricing and email it to you. The proposal will provide photos of the florals we will use in your designs
Sorry, we do not offer flower preservation. However, we’re happy to recommend a few local vendors who provide this service. Just let us know.
We are located in Silver Spring, Maryland, and our service area extends from the Baltimore area to Annapolis and Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and includes the Leesburg area
It’s never too early to get in touch about your wedding, but we recommend having a few details figured out before you do. For example: Have you selected the location for your ceremony and/or reception? What’s your wedding style? Do you know how many guests you’ll be expecting? Typically, our couples reach out around 6 to 8 months before their big day.
During your consultation, we will go over all the gorgeous in-season floral offerings available for your wedding date. We love supporting local growers and regional flowers and greenery!
