Everyone says “Something will go wrong on your wedding day.” They don’t know the magic of the Morris Estate. It’s impossible to describe how perfect our wedding day was, not only for me and my husband, but also our wedding party and our families. Everyone involved got to spend the long weekend relaxing, having fun, and celebrating at this beautiful property without any worry of getting assigned random tasks or cleanup duties— the Morris Estate staff was ON IT every step of the way. At the helm was Ryan Bergstrom, our coordinator, who made the incredibly complicated task of planning a wedding feel easy. As an artist, I wanted every element to be unique and intentional, and was quite frankly worried that the Estate wouldn’t be amenable to a more avant-garde event. I approached them with the idea of hanging a large tapestry painting in the chapel and they got right to work with how they could make that happen. There were no requests that went unheard, and it was clear Ryan was a fantastic collaborator and coordinator in all aspects of planning. Plus, anything or anyone that you need, they have a great recommendation on deck— we found this to be true when seeking an officiant for our ceremony as well as a florist. Trudi and Cherry Road Homestead knocked the florals out of the park. The actual wedding ceremony couldn’t have gone more smoothly, with a comprehensive rehearsal in the chapel and the changing rooms in the basement, everyone was able to get ready on time and relax leading up to the ceremony. With about 100 people in it, the chapel felt intimate but gave guests plenty of room to breathe. It was a short, beautiful ceremony that was tailored exactly to our needs as a couple. Yet another fabulous aspect of working with the Morris Estate was the ease of transition throughout events. Cocktails were in guests’ hands before I could even finish bustling my dress. We never felt rushed, yet everything managed to happen on time. Ryan did a great job taking the time beforehand to meet any vendors not directly from the Estate, so everyone knew exactly what they needed to do their part. The reception was unbelievable. I’ve planned other events, designed movie sets and installation art, and was truly blown away by what they accomplished. It was so exciting to see all of the love and hard work that went into making our vision come to life and see the excitement on guests’ faces when they walked into the tent. It was colorful, magical and totally surreal. Now, to talk about the food. With the estate catering both the rehearsal dinner and reception we got to try just about everything on the menu. We were very pleasantly surprised at our tasting before the wedding. The Estate Manager Nate, Chef Tom and their team had tons of options for us that were as beautiful as they were delicious. Arguably, the most difficult part of working with the Morris Estate was having to pick just a few of the options for our customized menu because they were all. so. good. Our guests had so many kind words about how fun and joyous the entire evening was, and instead of worrying who was going to help clean up at the end of the night, the Morris Estate had it fully covered. Everything was organized back into boxes for us to take home the next morning. I’m sure I’m forgetting so many other wonderful things that the staff did for us, but we will forever be grateful for such an incredible long weekend full of love and celebration. TLDR: Everything was perfect.

It is hard to put into words just how extraordinary my wedding was at the CAA. The catering team made the planning process such an enjoyable one and I had complete trust in each person involved. The ballrooms are unlike any in the city: elegant and historic with gorgeous views. We had our ceremony and reception in the White City Ballroom, overlooking Millennium Park and the lake. The Executive Chef and Pastry Chef are extremely inventive and I can assure you that this is not your typical hotel wedding plated dinner. The tasting was such a fun day and it became so clear that I had picked the right venue for my wedding. The team made us feel so special and personalized the whole experience for us. My wedding guests are still gushing over the dinner months later! They also offer table-side choice of entree and synchronized service, which was truly incredible to watch! The servers were so dedicated to proving the best service. The Director of Banquets and Banquet Manager went over the top to make sure this was a stress free day for me. I never had to worry about a thing! We had an after party in the Game Room. It was great to have such a fun spot to go after the wedding...in the same building. My guests loved it! I am so grateful for the whole team at the CAA for making my wedding a dream come true!

The Wade Hotel was an excellent choice for our wedding venue. Their communication style was positive, professional, and enthusiastic, and they were incredibly supportive throughout the planning process. The entire staff, from the restaurant team to the concierge, security team and valet, were friendly and helpful, ensuring a seamless experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting process, and all of our guests raved about the food and drinks. Although our onsite event manager has since left, she was wonderful to work with as well as our initial booking contact, Natalie. The Wade Hotel provided the best value for our chic city wedding, and we were able to accrue Marriott Bonvoy points, which was an added bonus. We definitely recommend the Wade Hotel. A couple of watchpoints to consider: - we loved the ability to have an outdoor wedding facing the lake however the end of May in Chicago was unpredictable so it was cooler than we hoped. The sun is covered by the building so if your event is in the afternoon/evening that wont help - Our wedding was 150 guests and it was "tight" in the Altitude reception space. I think 125 would have been far more comfortable. - Our wedding was on a holiday weekend so unfortunately many of our guests did not receive lake view rooms for the room block. Some guests also were able to find prices cheaper elsewhere online.

We just had our wedding here this past weekend and it was perfect from start to finish. Erin Wright, our coordinator, made us feel supported the entire year. We didn't even feel like we needed to hire a planner because they assisted with coordinating so much. We did end up hiring Erin as our day-of coordinator, which the Hyatt offers. She ended up being there that day with two other event managers as well. They recently remodeled all guest rooms, as well as the reception area we used, the Crystal Ballroom. The space has floor to ceiling window views of the city that were incredible. We had our ceremony on the adjacent terrace, which they flipped and allowed people on during dancing! It was such a cool feature. We highly recommend to anyone who wants to have their wedding in the heart of downtown Chicago!

The Royal Sonesta was the first venue we toured out of about four different places in a day and as soon as we walked through we knew that this was where we wanted to have our wedding. The spaces for the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception were perfect for our wedding of about 75 people. All on the penthouse floor, the views from the different areas give you basically a 360 view of the river and the rest of downtown Chicago but that is just the cherry on top. The team at the hotel is top notch and we couldn't have done it without Lauren. They went above and beyond anything that we contracted, providing 5 star service to not just us but every single guest that we had staying there. If we ever had a question, Lauren was there to answer it in a timely manner, making accommodations and concessions that made our stay and event memorable. Our wedding at the Allerton Hotel far and away surpassed our expectations. When my fiancé and I first started touring wedding venues, we had a little bit of sticker shock (we were planning and paying for it all on our own). We knew when looking at venues that we wanted somewhere that was budget conscious, warm and welcoming, and spoke for itself. Tying in the budget again, we wanted a venue that didn’t need to be glitzed or glammed up to look beautiful; we were looking for Minimalistic but Grand. The Allerton checked all of these boxes for us. Upon setting up a tour, we had the honor of meeting the amazing team behind the scenes of throwing the stunning weddings I had seen on Instagram. Kristin Johansson, Michael Wallace, and Felipe Herrera were the faces that immediately made us feel at home, feel understood, and prioritized. These three worked with us endlessly making sure we were organized, informed, and financially in a good place. After Kristin left the Allerton, we had the pleasure of meeting and working with Amaralys Addarich. We were able to get so excited for the big day working with her for our tasting and putting together other organizational details. Even during times of transition and change at the hotel, we never once felt neglected or alone. Communication was always a priority and we are forever grateful for that. For the last 4 months of our wedding planning process, we had the utmost honor to work with and adore Christina Farias and Mina Chu. These two worked seamlessly behind the scenes making sure everything was on track for us and when there was a blunder with my seating chart on the day of, they were there to handle it with grace and ease to the point that I had no idea anything even happened. The Allerton was everything that we could have hoped for and more - not only with how stunning the venue is or how delicious the food was, but we got to get close to a team we now consider to be like family. Christina, Felipe, Michael, and Mina are the absolute rockstar dream team for weddings and making wedding planning as easy as possible. They were there for all of the millions of questions that I posed, there for the best suggestions, and there with the coolest and calmest demeanor on the day of that helped us feel at ease. Looking back on our wedding day, we are just overall blessed that we could host our wedding at the Allerton Tip Top Tap Ballroom and cannot wait to show our kids the place where we had one of the best days of our lives. With this team, you will not only have the best wedding possible, but you will gain friends, peace of mind, and a new place that feels like home. We love you, Allerton Team!!
