The 76 House is America’s oldest tavern. Built with the founding of Tappan (1686) and expanded in 1755 to accommodate the town’s need to provide hospitality to stagecoach travelers, it is here that the Dutch town fathers, a group naturally predisposed to separate themselves from England, gathered to draft and sign The Resolutions of Orangetown on July 4, 1774. This document stands as one of America’s first declarations of independence and is often given as the reason we celebrate July 4. Rowsley, the home of the Scarsdale Woman’s Club, is available for rentals. The beautiful house, gracious interior and stunning grounds are an ideal location for the celebration of special events; weddings, bar mitzvahs, anniversaries. HISTORY OF ROWSLEY The Scarsdale Woman's Club is headquartered in Rowsley, a 19th century manor house, set on almost four acres amid magnificent trees and plantings. The house was built in 1858 by William Bailey Lang, an English iron merchant. He fashioned it after a property in Derbyshire, England. Among the notable plantings on the site are the 470-year-old white oak tree and the massive rhododendron, both in the front of the property. Rowsley was named an Historic Landmark by the Village of Scarsdale in 1968, and in 2008, it was designated by the nation as a site on its National Register of Historic Places. The Bonnefont offers an enchanting and timeless setting for your wedding celebration. Just a short stroll from The Met Cloisters, home to The Met's renowned medieval collection, this historic venue blends Old World charm with modern sophistication. Named after the medieval cloister and herb garden in its French town of origin, The Bonnefont is housed in a picturesque fieldstone cottage built in the 1930s for John D. Rockefeller and designed by the esteemed Olmsted Brothers, sons of Frederick Olmsted, the visionary behind New York City's Central Park.

For over a century patrons have found comfort in this historic building nestled in the heights of the Meadowlands, presently home to Ivy Inn. Opened in the 1870’s as a stagecoach inn, travelers in horse and carriage along Polifly Road (later named Terrace Avenue) stopped here to eat and drink in the tavern below and sleep in one of six guest quarters above. After the turn of the 20th century, the inn evolved into a fine dining restaurant (a popular speakeasy during Prohibition), but eventually fell into disrepair. On Valentine’s Day of 1997, after extensive restoration, the inn once again opened its doors for fine dining, renamed Ivy Inn. Ivy, the symbol of love and marriage, has proven to be a fitting name. Since reopening, the restaurant has witnessed countless marriage proposals, weddings and anniversary celebrations. Continuing its long legacy of hospitality, the inn is once again a Bergen County favorite and continues to inspire cherished memories for many years to come.

The Alhambra Ballroom is a historic venue first established during the early 1930's. Many jazz greats such as Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie have played in the space. Much of the history has been preserved with some modern touches. The space has hosted many infamous individuals such as Netflix's, The Irishman and Marcus Samuelsson. The venue has more than just one vibe because we are flexible. Our staff has the ability to change the venue so that it molds to your dream event. The Italian Academy for Advanced Studies is a fellowship program for post-doctoral scholars, who work in offices on the fourth and fifth floors of Columbia University's Casa Italiana building, the Academy's home on the main Morningside campus. (We also produce a variety of prestigious public events.) The building is located on Amsterdam Avenue just south of 118th Street. Wedding celebrations are most often in the Teatro, the 2nd-floor 2000-sq-foot ballroom with an adjacent outdoor terrace. We give several options for superb full-service caterers who consistently provide excellent food and service at fair prices. The Italian Academy provides a Public Safety guard, custodial cleaner, optional chairs and AV equipment, and a house manager to assist with making your planning easy and pleasant. Michelle VanNess, Red Hat Director of Special Events, has over a decade of experience with Red Hat creating innovative private events ranging from small corporate dinners to elaborate weddings. Her particular skill is understanding that for some, party planning is a chore to be left to others, while for others it is a joy that requires expert assistance and support.

The House of the Redeemer is a cultural and historical treasure to the neighborhood on the Upper East Side of New York City, offering a unique setting for reflection, study, fellowship, and prayer. It is a place apart, providing worship and hospitality for individuals seeking spiritual renewal. The House is a perfect location for weddings with a guest list of 100 or less. Our chapel on the second floor can hold up to 30 people with ease for small intimate wedding ceremonies. For larger weddings, the Library provides the perfect backdrop for a ceremony and can seat up to 100. An outside courtyard is an option for cocktails during warmer months, while The Refectory will accommodate 80 for a seated formal dinner.
