The day after your wedding, will you remember the groom's reaction when he sees his bride for the first time, the emotion on dad's face when he gives his daughter away, the tears that come when vows are said, the laughter during the best man speech, or grandma getting down on the dance floor? You have spent so much time planning for your wedding day and it goes by in a blink of an eye. That's why it is so important to professionally capture the day via photography and content.

From our first conversation with Peter at NH Images Photography Content, we knew we had found the right photographer. He was incredibly organized, creating a detailed timeline that made sure we got all the shots we wanted with our families without any stress. Peter kept things light and had us laughing throughout the day, which made the whole experience feel natural and fun. The turnaround on our photos was quick, and when we finally saw them, we were blown away by how professional and polished everything looked. Working with him was seamless from start to finish, and the quality of his work far exceeded what we expected. We'd recommend NH Images to any couple looking for a photographer who truly cares about capturing their day while making it fun!

Channing Johnson Photography

I have a photojournalism degree from the oldest and most prestigious journalism school in the country. TIME Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and U.S. News and World Report have all hired me to photograph assignments for them. Whether I’m capturing moments for a national audience or for a single family, I draw on my storytelling background to honor the truth in all moments big and small. My job isn’t to create beauty. My job is to see the beauty already there. All work is personal work.

When researching a wedding photographer, my husband and I knew we wanted photos that would last well beyond our wedding day. At the same time, we didn’t want taking photos to consume too much of the day. We found Channing, and he was beyond perfect. He was everything we wanted in a photographer and so much more. He was non-intrusive while capturing moments, made the process quick and easy (even for my husband, who’s not big on taking photos), and delivered work that was better than we ever could have imagined. Our photos are still the most talked-about part of our wedding, and we’re so happy we invested in Channing. Because of his documentary-style photography, we truly get to relive our wedding day every time we look at them.

I think there’s a real absence of authenticity in today’s world. Everywhere we look, people are polishing themselves into a perfect image for the internet. But that’s not where the beauty is. The beauty lives in the real moments — the big, loud, messy, emotional, human ones you can’t stage or script. That’s what I chase. Since 2016, I’ve been documenting weddings for couples who want to feel present, relaxed, and fully themselves. I gravitate toward the candid, the unplanned, the way a glance turns into laughter and a quiet moment becomes unforgettable.

Awarded Best of Zola
Steve was enthusiastic, kind, creative, and flexible with day of changes to our schedule of events. I hate having my photo taken and he put me at ease immediately. I love the photos he took of the ceremony and the family, but my absolute favorite were the candid photos from the dance floor. He was always present, but never obvious, and that allowed for some really joyful and organic shots. The meetings with Steve were helpful in communicating our vision and needs, and he was so responsive! From the beginning of our time working together on engagement photos all the way through to the end of the wedding and sharing of the album, he was professional, fun, and efficient. I can not recommend him highly enough!

Brilliant Lens Photography
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
Swampscott, MA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $1,600

Photography has been part of my life since 2009, long before it became my profession in 2015. My background is rooted in fine art, where I learned to slow down, observe, and pay attention to the subtle details most people pass by, the way light shifts, the space between moments, the emotion that lives in quiet gestures. That perspective naturally led me to wedding photography. Rather than staging every moment, I approach weddings as living stories, unfolding in real time.

I had a wonderful experience working with Brilliant Lens Photography for my wedding. They were very easy to communicate with throughout the entire process, making the experience seamless. Their work is excellent, capturing all the special moments of our big day perfectly. I would highly recommend them to any couple looking for a talented and professional wedding photography team.

Visit my Instagram for contact info and more photography! — ErinWholleyPhotography • Weddings are a culmination of love, life, happiness, family history, commitment, art, and so much more. My love for photography and the importance it plays in remembering cherished moments spans decades. Photographs are one of the only tangible items you receive after your wedding day (aside from the memories) to help you relive this time for the rest of your days. I will hype you up all day long to make sure you are enjoying every aspect of your day with your partner— that’s truly what it’s all about!

We had the fortune of hiring Erin as our photographer for both our engagement photos and wedding day. She is passionate, talented, and not to mention hilarious. She got along with our family and friends seamlessly throughout the day and made everyone feel at ease. It’s so natural for her to work with both people who are and aren’t comfortable in front of a camera. We had guests telling us afterwards how welcoming she is. Collaborating with her on the day of timeline felt easy and fun, and made us so excited and comfortable leading up to our wedding day. She helped us think about aspects we hadn’t considered in order to prepare, like family combinations, sunset timing, and different first look locations. Photography isn’t just a job for Erin, it’s a calling and true art form. She puts time and effort into curating and editing every image she takes. The pictures you will receive are breathtaking, feel truly like you, and authentically capture your relationship with your loved ones. We are already looking forward to the next big moments in our lives where we can work with her again!

I'm Marc Sadowski, a New England wedding photographer with 20+ years of experience capturing weddings across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, and beyond. My approach is candid and documentary — I stay back, watch, and wait for the moments that happen when you forget the camera is there. I learned photography as a photojournalist, where you get one shot or you miss it forever. That instinct drives everything I do on your wedding day.

Marc and his team were an absolute joy to work with! They did an amazing job, capturing the most perfect and beautiful photos for our wedding. They were hardly noticeable while there, and caught moments that we would have never thought to have captured. Marc and his team truly demonstrate what it means to be professional photographers in every sense of the job, and my husband and I highly recommend booking with them!

We don’t even know where to begin with Nicole!! It was an absolute dream to work with her. Due to unforeseen circumstances (it’s COVID, right?), we were out a photographer one month out from our wedding. Nicole was the first person I messaged on Instagram and I am SO happy she was available. We met over coffee a couple weeks before our wedding since an engagement shoot wasn’t possible for our schedule. We breathed a huge sigh of relief after meeting her, knowing that we would connect with her perfectly. Not to mention, her style of photography and editing is exactly what we wanted. The only time my husband and I really posed was for formal family/couple portraits! The rest of the time, we didn’t even notice her and we got so many gorgeous, candid photos. We got our pictures yesterday, exactly on our one-month anniversary! I was shocked to get that many edited pictures so soon! We cried looking through our sneak peeks (which were delivered day after the wedding) and our full gallery. We felt comfortable, confident, and loved throughout the whole day. She fit perfectly with our intimate wedding, being one of six guests. I can’t recommend Nicole enough; she came in clutch for us, was super flexible with talking/meeting with us, was the best friend we needed day of, and delivered the most gorgeous pictures which such creative vantage points. I’m at a loss for words with how beautiful everything turned out. Thank you so much, Nicole!

Available for MICRO-WEDDINGS & ELOPEMENTS only: I’m a Virginia transplant who makes her home north of Boston! I’m obsessed with the diversity and energy of the city, but also with how easy it is to escape to nature in New England. As an introvert, I definitely need both! I’m married to a handsome fellow creative (of the wordsmithing and storytelling variety) and we love our homebody life together. I’m a photographer because I think people are fascinating. Because memories are fleeting. Because we all need some beauty around us to help us remember how incredibly blessed we are to be alive.

Awarded Best of Zola
Lorna was the calm I needed on our wedding day. She was very relaxed, communicative, and professional. Our wedding consisted of 17 people, 7 of which were kids (three under the age of 2). She did an amazing job capturing a mix of formal and candid photos in color and black and white (as requested). Before leaving, she even asked if there was any other last minute shots that I wanted captured before she left. Lastly, I was truly impressed with how quickly Lorna was able to digital files back to us. Thank you, Lorna!!!

I’m a photographer for people who don’t resonate with traditional wedding photography. For those who want their weddings to be told like a story that features every bear hug, belly laugh, stolen glance, spilled drink, booty shake, and happy tear. For those who prioritize genuine and unscripted moments over trends and shot lists. For those who don’t want to feel like they’re wasting their day posing for the camera. For those who are inspired by the past and hopeful for the future. For those looking to create a little bit of future nostalgia.

Caroline is such a talented photographer and I have been so fortunate to get to know her over last few years. Her work gives such an intimate glimpse into couples and families that she photographs and her edits feel nostalgic, warm and natural! On top of that she has a heart of gold, so honestly, you cannot go wrong. Book her!

Hi there! I’m Alexandria, a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in the Boston area. I’ve been in love with storytelling through photos since I picked up my first camera at just eight years old. My goal is simple: to create timeless, authentic images that reflect the joy, love, and little in-between moments that make your day uniquely yours. Before I turned my focus to weddings, I built my career photographing red carpets and editorials for Popstar! and Cosplay Culture Magazine, where I had the chance to work with artists like One Direction, Bella Thorne, and Stephen Baldwin.

From the moment we first reached out to AKM Photography, their communication was consistently friendly and professional. On the day of our wedding, they were an absolute pleasure to work with - so personable and helpful in capturing all the special moments. The photos they delivered were truly beautiful and magical, perfectly reflecting the joy and love of our special day. It was clear that AKM Photography was genuinely invested in making our wedding experience amazing. They even understood the video game references we incorporated, which just solidified that we had found the perfect photographer to document our unique celebration. We couldn't be happier with the memories AKM Photography helped create for us.

Terri Unger Photography
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)

I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember, and I’m lucky to have made it a central part of both my life and career. I specialize in capturing people in their environments, the connections between them, and the small moments that reveal their humanity. Weddings are a favorite because they’re full of real joy, love, and the moments that make life feel full. My approach blends a documentary eye with a fine art perspective, creating images that feel honest, thoughtful, and true to the people I photograph.

Terri was the perfect choice for our wedding photography. We booked her just one week before our wedding day. Regardless, Terri was prompt and professional in her communication. On the day, Terri guided us through the various shots, capturing the day, the scene, and our outfits with stunning color and light. She put us at ease despite our camera shyness. One of our favorite photos was an unplanned shot of us on my motorcycle as we passed it on the street. Upon seeing it, we instantly knew that it would be the one we frame to capture the day. We were thrilled with her work capturing our elopement and highly recommend Terri.

My work is vibrant, moment-driven, and authentic. I love focusing on your connection as a couple, what makes you and your wedding unique, and your interactions with family and friends as you celebrate together. My approach to wedding photography leans toward a documentary or photojournalistic style with a fine art element (I graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in studio art). While I might suggest an area with great lighting to stand in, I will never ask you to “pretend” to do anything. Ever.

We met Danielle at an LGBTQ wedding expo while searching for photographer that had experience photographing two dress weddings, a niche market we quickly figured out, and immediately fell in love. Her photos capture the moment and never feel overly posed, which won over my camera shy wife immediately. We did our engagement shoot on the streets of Salem and Danielle managed to capture the love we have for each other and made simple store fronts look like a Christmas wonderland without making the shoot feel like work. By the time we got to our wedding day, we had absolutely no concerns about her ability to capture the day as a single shooter and she definitely didn’t disappoint! She created the most perfect first look so we could take a moment together before the ceremony began, melted into the background and got a million candid photos of our night, set up the PERFECT photo flash dance to get some silly photos of our friend groups, and corralled our blended families for gorgeous group shots.

Live your wedding, love the story! Do you desire to be present on your wedding day? No need to perform, just experience your celebration with your friends and family. Tired of every wedding looking the same? Based on the Northshore of Boston We produce authentic images that capture YOUR celebration in a candid and documentary way.

Working with Ben was an absolute delight. From the first call, he clearly understood our priorities and gave excellent advice to help us get the photos that mattered to us. We've had several opportunities to work with him, and in each case, we've ended up with so many amazing shots that it's hard to pick a favorite. Our first shoot was our engagement shoot. Ben had several suggestions for making it unique and did a great job of helping us relax and feel comfortable. He was incredibly flexible with us on a colder day than anticipated. And he still captured the delight and intimacy that make our relationship what it is. Next, he shot our super secret wedding ceremony at Dearly Studios. He was the perfect addition and helped make an extraordinary day even more memorable. The photos are so fun and joyful - I feel like I'm there. Finally, Ben photographed our big wedding at the Bradley Estate, and it seemed like he was everywhere all at once. Several guests commented on his efficiency and how much he seemed to get on film. Ben was also incredibly flexible working with my large, unruly family. He managed to capture every moment, from the big joys to the small dramas and he got every single face I could make in at least one photo. Looking at his shots from the event feels like looking at a high end photo essay of my life. Working with Ben was a fantastic experience. His expertise and professionalism helped put us at ease and allowed for some truly stunning photographs. From the engagement shoot to the wedding ceremony and finally to the wedding day, Ben's ability to capture every moment and emotion was remarkable. We cannot recommend Silver Salt Photography highly enough to anyone needing a talented and passionate photographer.

Hi, Mark Here! I love telling stories with photographs and photographing a packed dance floor. For the last 17 years, I've been a documentary wedding photographer. Since then, I have developed a method and approach that enables me to document weddings that keep the day stress-free for you. My laid-back personality makes people feel at ease. This lets me catch honest moments showing how special it is when family and friends celebrate you. If you want your wedding photos to be stress-free, unscripted, authentic, and love a dance party, we should chat!

Five stars simply isn’t enough!!! Our experience with Mark was everything I could have hoped for and more. My husband and I chose to not make our wedding day about posing, re-posing, making sure we got the right shot, etc. We wanted to remember our day in film and photographs that actually captured the million little moments. We wanted art we can look back on and feel what we felt on our wedding day. That is why we chose Mark. Somehow, he was everywhere he needed to be, but never in the way, never taking over, never overstepping. He is kind, accommodating, easy to communicate with, amazing to work with. I cannot recommend him enough!!!

Hello my dears- I'm Connie. Through many years, I’ve devoted myself not just to image-making, but to discovering what makes a life beautiful: the simplicity of slowness; the quiet intimacy of touching a loved one’s face as sleep arrives. I’m drawn to kindness, feeling terrified but moving through to the other side, dancing alone in public, covered in sunlight. My work is shaped by watching how others love, by giving more than feels comfortable, by laughter so deep it brings tears. I try to see without judgment. To stay curious. To exist, as much as possible, with joy inside this fleeting, incredible moment we’re in right now.

I’m so grateful my husband and I had the opportunity to work with Connie for our wedding this winter. She is an absolute delight — professional, thoughtful, easy to work with, and truly exceptional at what she does. During our search process, it was important to me that we find someone we felt genuinely comfortable with. From the beginning, Connie made us feel at ease. She brings a calm, warm presence that makes you forget there’s a camera in the room, which shows in the photos. And the photography! Connie has a remarkable talent for capturing the small, magical moments of intimacy and connection — between family members, friends, and throughout the celebration — as well as the overall feeling of the day. Shortly after the wedding, Connie shared a highlights video, and my husband and I were blown away. The quality, artistry, and emotion she captured felt like true craft. Your wedding won’t feel like “just another event” to her, which feels very rare. We’re so happy we found Studio Atticus and could not recommend Connie more strongly. You will not be disappointed!

When I received my own wedding photos, I hoped to relive the magic—but instead, I felt something was missing. That experience became my “why”: no couple should ever feel that gap. Today, I photograph weddings and families in Greater Boston with a relaxed, genuine approach so you can be fully present. My goal is to give you timeless images that capture the magic and emotion of your story, letting you feel it all over again.

We can’t say enough good things about our photographer! She was absolutely amazing on our wedding day — calm, organized, and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We were blown away by how quickly she sent over our sneak peek photos (and they’re STUNNING). Every shot perfectly captured the joy and emotion of the day. We seriously can’t wait to see the rest of the gallery!

Hi! I'm Amanda! I am a lover of color and light, whose portraits are full of genuine emotion and life. I am a documentary style wedding photographer, and I very much enjoy capturing all the little in between moments as much as I do the big moments of your day. I want you to be able to look through your album and see the moments you may have missed while you were saying I do- your sister getting a little misty while you take your vows, your aunt taking shots with your besties. I want you to see the love you share with your partner reflected in your gallery.

I haven’t even seen all my photos yet, but I don’t need to, to write this. Amanda is the absolute best. Obviously her photos are stunning but she’s so much more than that. They day of the wedding she is everything, acts as a second coordinator, keeping the time, making sure we have everything (flowers, the rings, literally everything) and in my delusion not having prepared any umbrellas, she had extra cute white ones. She even was the one to put my veil on when my bridesmaids disappeared into the venue. Her calm demeanor creates such a sense of security. We truly would’ve been lost without her. It’s pretty much just a bonus that her photos are insane.

I am a self proclaimed romantic at heart, always have been. After 19 years of marriage, I am a believer in true love! Photographing the special day for couples of all ages and walks of life, is a real joy and I get a charge of excitement for each gig. Anyone that has met me knows that I am an extroverted person who is always on the move; always talking and thinking; and often engaging with others. I make everyone feel at ease. As a wedding photographer I leverage my experience as a pro along with my personality.

Hi, I’m Marcela, a Massachusetts wedding photographer capturing celebrations with a balance of timeless imagery and genuine connection. For the past 7+ years, I’ve documented weddings with an approach that feels natural, intentional, and calm. My goal is to create photographs that look beautiful years from now, while helping you feel fully present on your wedding day. I can’t wait to hear your story.

Having worked in the wedding industry for years, I’ve always appreciated great photography, but it wasn’t until I became a bride myself that I truly understood its value! It’s nearly impossible to take in all of your wedding day, and that's why having someone there to capture not only what you experience, but also the moments you miss, is an extraordinary gift. Seeing photos of our family and friends enjoying the day, candid shots of us laughing and soaking it all in, and quiet moments we didn’t even realize were happening, all of it moved us in ways we didn’t expect. But beyond the images themselves, you need a photographer who understands you, someone you trust implicitly to preserve one of the most meaningful days of your life. Marcela has amazed me with her talent since the very first styled shoot we did together. But what truly sets her apart is her ability to make you feel at ease in front of the camera which, let’s be honest, can feel awkward if you’re not used to it. She has this incredible way of making the process feel natural and effortless, and her eye for capturing the most authentic, candid moments is unparalleled. For my husband and me, those relaxed, unposed shots were what we wanted most and Marcela delivered them beautifully. Even when it came to more formal portraits (which of course you need and want on your wedding day) the experience never felt stiff or staged. She works with ease, efficiency, and kindness, making the entire experience enjoyable and pressure-free. Her ability to adapt to any setting, request, or personality is remarkable. She reads the room intuitively and blends into the background so seamlessly that you often forget she’s there. That’s part of her magic; her presence never disrupts the moment, it enhances it. On a day when all eyes are on you and emotions run high, Marcela helps you stay present. And that presence is reflected in every frame. Her artistry, eye for detail, and signature style were exactly what we hoped for, but more than that, we adore who she is as a person. You spend so much of your day (and the lead-up to it) with your photographer, and having someone who feels like a friend makes all the difference. Marcela has captured our journey from couple’s portraits to engagement photos, our rehearsal dinner, and finally, our wedding day. I feel incredibly lucky to have had her with us during such joyful, unforgettable moments in our lives. Having worked with numerous photographers in the Boston/New England wedding industry, I can say with complete confidence that Marcela is among the best of the best and I couldn't imagine trusting anyone else with our wedding photos. Her talent is undeniable, and your gallery will be nothing short of magical. With all our love and gratitude, Lauren & Matt

Alyse Grimm is the creator behind Things to do in Salem [dot] com. In addition to working in tourism in Salem, MA she is also a wedding photographer with 200+ weddings of experience and her work has been published on major wedding platforms. Her knowledge of the north shore combined with her experience makes her a natural fit for your north shore wedding. Alyse's style is photojournalistic with an eye for small details. She is less fond of posed photos. Alyse is open to travel but is giving priority to weddings on the North Shore of MA and to weddings that are non traditional/showcase the individuality of the couple.

Alyse worked with my fiancé and I for our engagement shoot at Beacon Hill. Since we are from out of town (NY) and the shoot took place at the height of Covid, this required some strategic planning on both ends. Alyse was so kind and flexible to work with. She assured us that even if last minute changes due to Covid had to happen, she would work with us. I was very stressed with the entire situation, but Alyse’s calm, reassuring personality put my mind at ease. She has many great ideas, but also listens to your vision and is open to doing shots that you like. We loved the way she captured who we are as a couple, in a place that is special to us. We received many compliments on our save the date cards which featured the photos from our shoot. If you are looking for a photographer who is easygoing, open minded, and knows the MA area well, then Alyse is your girl!
