Born in 1959 from a family of Cuban immigrants, my dad and mom were divorced soon after being born. It was in 1960 when my dad left for Cuba leaving behind a young impressionable son, many reels of 8mm movies, and a box full of photo negatives. It was these treasures, found 15 years later, that inspired me into a life of capturing life moments; being a Photographer. While at college, I learned about light, composition, and design. I also developed a love for black and white photography; owning my own darkroom for many years. We are local, professional, Portsmouth, NH wedding portrait photographers & videographers covering New England and beyond with 21 years in the wedding industry. We travel worldwide for destination weddings, elopements, engagements, or portraits. Our staff specializes in unique outdoor locations such as farms, and barns.     Phenomenal photographer

    If you want the pure, beautiful, raw emotion of your wedding day captured in photos, Robert Ortiz is your guy! Candids were the most important pictures to us, and WOW - we received the most amazing moments captured in a completely unobtrusive way. We couldn’t be happier with our photos. The ones of my grandparents are some of the most precious memories. Looking through our hundreds of incredible photos, I was sobbing all over again, feeling the emotions of that day at full strength. In addition to his talent and expertise as a photographer, Robert is extremely quick to respond to texts. He answers any and all questions and makes sure he understands what types of photos you value most. Photography is powerful, and the right photographer is absolutely worth the money. You will not be disappointed in hiring Robert!!

    Robert Ortiz Photography was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Roberts communication was transparent, prompt, and he was clearly excited to be a part of our special day. The quality of his work was stunning, telling the story of our wedding day in a beautifully detailed way. Robert was great at mingling with guests and at the same time shooting without being noticed. He truly added warmth to our day and made it so special. We got a few preview photos not long after the wedding which was so exciting! We could not be happier with the memories Robert captured for us.

Typically, couples book me about 9 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.
Yes, we do offer Videography as well. It's always a good idea to book someone that does both Photos & Videos so they both match in style. You receive a discounted price when you book photos together with videos. Ask us for more details.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding. Once your images are edited, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.
You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
Yes we do, we are insured with a 2 million dollar liability policy.
In my 20 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant that offer the same style & experience as us.
