“We held our Friday night Welcome Party for our wedding weekend at Lillistar and we can't say enough good things about the event, the venue, and the events team! This is a stunning and hip venue for this type of event and the decor at Lillistar brings such a fun vibe we didn't feel the need to bring anything in. The drinks and food were plentiful and super good and the vibe created was perfect! From our first emails and tour to all the planning and logistics, Sydney and the team were extremely responsive, easy to work with, and really made the event so so special, seamless and fun for our guests. With every detailed question we had, Sydney replied with "of course!" The team also had an eye for detail and was able to provide us with a floor plan and set up that worked for our guest count and event type. We were able to come in early to set up no questions asked. The team really thought of everything and we barely had anything to do ourselves. We had the entire inside as well as outdoor area and were provided a satellite bar and food set up outdoors. The team moved the furniture around so that it would allow for a perfect guest flow. The venue didn't ever feel too crowded. The food was amazing - our guests raved about it all! Sydney was very helpful with setting our menu including passed apps and stations for our guest count and timing. The team was also really helpful with speeches and helped us get set up and feel comfortable. At the last hour the staff even turned the lights into a clubby atmosphere and our guests started dancing! Thank you thank you!”

“We just got married in January 2020 and were lucky enough to find the Library Hotel in our venue search. Our wedding had 25 guests and was the most wonderful intimate wedding on their enclosed rooftop 14th floor area. The Poetry Garden was the perfect ceremony location with beautiful outdoor views and gorgeous lighting, while the Writer's Den was wonderful for our reception, right on the same floor with a long single table set up, enough room to dance, and was a beautiful space to begin with so we didn't need to do much to decorate. Margo was a dream to work with, always communicative and so helpful on the day of. No need to hire a DOC here -- Margo went above and beyond to help us set up, handle delivery with vendors, pass on our tips, coordinate our music timing, etc. The waitstaff and bar team were absolutely amazing, and the lead bartender was very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. The rooms at the hotel were gorgeous and the staff left us presents in the form of chocolate and champagne on our wedding day. The outdoor patio was available for us to take pictures in the middle of the winter while it was snowing and you can see the New York Public Library from there. I highly recommend this space for anyone looking for an intimate wedding venue wiith catering and bar provided in-house. We visited a few other venues and none compared.”

With high ceilings and white washed brick walls, the sun-filled room features original tile floors, dating back to the early 1900s. Antique long leaf heart pine, sourced from the Hudson Company and estimated to be between 300 and 600 years old, is repurposed for walls, tabletops and the uniquely designed bar with wrap-around seating. Lempert, inspired by 18th century scientific botanical engravings, collaborated with Flavor Paper to design wallpaper featuring the namesake Meadowsweet herb, and it’s seen throughout the restaurant in various iterations. Her photos, taken on the family’s property upstate, feature plants, vegetables and herbs and are also found throughout the restaurant. Bringing life to the space, a lofted mezzanine herb garden above the bar, which was created in collaboration with Brooklyn Grange, overlooks the dining room and features fresh rosemary, lemon thyme and mint, among others, used for cocktails.

I had a wonderful October wedding here and was very fortunate to avoid rain so my guests could make use of the balcony. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is that this is a very weather dependent venue. Had it been rain and we’d be limited to inside space only, it would have been a little too cramped. Sunday In Brooklyn

“My wife and I got married in an intimate brunch ceremony in the Garden room and it was absolutely everything we wanted. The space is beautiful with tons of natural light and we were able to comfortably fit our 20 guests photographer, second shooter, and planner. The staff were super helpful and beyond friendly - our guests never had to wait around to flag someone down and they were all very happy with the steady flow of drinks and food. The staff also quickly accommodated our request to bring out many orders of the famous pancakes (which really are that good) with the rest of the food (rather than after) and did some great jigsawing with all the food on the table. They also helpfully packaged up all the leftovers into a bunch of bags, allowing our us and our guests to take home extra food. Would highly recommend Sunday in Brooklyn, particularly if you are looking for a brunch time event. Only downside was the flooring in the Garden room is wood with a decent amount of room between planks and my heels kept getting stuck between them.”

“I honestly forget if I already wrote a review for The Lace Factory, but recently I was reflecting on our wedding day and a few things stuck out that had me so thankful we held our reception at The Lace Factory. From the beginning of the planning process the team is extremely clear and communicative. I love a checklist and theirs is one that ensures nothing will be forgotten. Our guests are still sharing how gorgeous the venue was, how incredible the food spread was, and one detail I was surprised by, from my cousin who has been to their fair share of large celebrations. "The food was not only delicious, but they managed to serve such a large group and the food was actually hot!" This speaks to the well-oiled machine that is The Lace Factory and it must be emphasized that this machine has heart. They accomplished another feat of having my family and I not worry about the severe allergy of my dad, as they adjusted the menu accordingly, without us having to miss out on all the options. This carried over to assist some guests who also had specific dietary needs. I realize this sounds boring, but it is wonderful to know your guests are safe and fed and focus on the celebrating! “Weeks later, we're still absolutely gushing over the Mansion! It was the perfect venue for our wedding. They had it all, from phenomenal staff to luxurious facilities, not to mention the stunning views. We had the pleasure of working with Alexandra(Alex) we could not have asked for a better person! Alex knew all of our family members and bridal party’s names, and was extremely personable. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of all night. She brought me a snack before the ceremony and continuously brought me my water all day and night (without me asking)They truly make you feel like a VIP throughout your entire day and their top notch team(along with our caterer David Alan) ensured that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. In the early stages of planning we worked with Jessica Hess and she is extremely helpful and communicative. The mansion truly felt like home for the day. We hosted our ceremony on the vista , cocktail hour was on the terrace, and we had dinner in the East ballroom. Guests were in awe of the estate (we also lucked out with absolutely perfect weather), and how every detail was perfectly executed. Our special day was truly a dream and felt like it was out of a movie! We could not recommend the Wadsworth Mansion enough, and can't wait to return for future celebrations. It's definitely well-worth the investment and would 10/10 recommend hosting your special day here! The Gem Saloon

“The Gem Saloon hosted the surprise engagement party I threw for my fiancé and it was the perfect spot. Starting first with my communication with Nicole, who is the events manager, she was incredibly responsive and helpful, as we sent numerous emails back and forth throughout the planning process. Having someone so readily available and quick to answer questions is a huge perk in my book, I feel without that, that’s where you lose a lot of business from the start. Then fast forward to the day off, the Gem allows you to bring outside decorations and desserts (if you wish) and do not charge a cake cutting fee. Being able to put your own decorative touch on your event can be special so it’s nice that Gem allows you that option. In terms of food, I did place a food order with Gem from their platter menu. All of my guests said how excellent the food was - I personally can sway that the beef skewers were awesome, highly recommend! The bartender assigned to my event was also lovely, she managed the bar swiftly (had about 55 guests) all on her own and had a very generous pour. The last person of note was Bernard. He was the on site manager the day of my event and he was a sweetheart. He checked in every so often to see if there was anything he could do or that we needed, incredibly attentive. Then when my fiancé and I were waiting on our Uber to leave the event, he gave us each a free glass of champagne for one last celebratory drink while we waited. Overall, everyone went above and beyond to make this day special and my guests felt that, they couldn’t have more than enough good things to say. One even said, I’ve lived and worked in NYC my whole life, how did I never know about this place? So if you’re on the fence about Gem, don’t hesitate, they’re absolutely great. And as someone who can be a critic of overly positive reviews, I will give the one negative that I have, was just that during the event (and keep in mind I reserved the second floor mezzanine - which was great to feel separated and private from the rest of the bar) that between being higher up and having around 55 people, it did get a bit hot up there, but you can always request that the air be turned down! All in all, 5/5 venue and party”

“Our wedding was everything we could have hoped for and dreamed about thanks to the CT Wedding Group and The Pavilion on Crystal Lake. The entire team was so responsive, understanding, and truly remarkable. Our day of wedding coordinator Mary Schilling was unbelievable. She treated us like royalty, she asked about and understood our family dynamics right away, she had drinks for us at the end of the aisle and food for us in the bridal suite and anticipated our needs before we could even ask for anything. HIGHLY recommend. The wait staff was incredible, and our guests simply cannot stop raving about the food - even 7 months later. Our ceremony was on the property with sparkling lights and just absolutely magical. My father had passed away just over a month before our wedding, and yet they had so so many beautiful little touches to bring his spirit into our special day. I could not recommend this venue or team any more!!!”

“We had our wedding at El Caribe on 08/26/2023 and our wedding day was perfect! My wife legitimately cried when she entered the Tiara ballroom. It was the only time she cried the entire day... she didn’t even shed a tear at the church lol. It well more than exceeded our expectations. Cocktail hour was incredible! My wife and I didn’t attend cocktail hour but we were able to see some photos from our guests and it was unbelievable! Cocktail hour included a lobster wall, an oyster shucking station, fresh mozzarella being made fresh in front of your eyes… it was incredible. We wish we had attended our cocktail hour just to view everything in person but we knew that we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy any of the food if we did (as we would have been approached by everyone trying to talk to us and wish us congratulations). Instead we enjoyed all the food being served at the cocktail hour in a separate private room. The staff and service was incredible! Alan was super attentive. He made sure that we stayed hydrated and were able to actually enjoy the food from our cocktail hour and dinner. During our private cocktail hour, Alan dressed my wife in a white tablecloth (so she didn’t spill anything on her dress) and was attending to our every needs. One of my groomsmen’s wives joined us in our private room (she was pregnant and we welcomed her to join us so she could be comfortable) and she commented how awesome and attentive the staff was and how the staff at her venue practically forgot about her wedding (we didn’t ask for her to elaborate lol). Similarly Ashley (the bridal attendant) and George were awesome as well! The MOH was struggling to bustle my wife’s dress and Ashley just took over and bustled it up quickly! I would highly suggest El Caribe for your wedding venue! After attending my wedding my cousin (who experienced El Caribe for the first time at my wedding) booked his wedding at El Caribe shortly afterwards. Also, your cake from Aliotta Pastry Shop is included when you book with El Caribe and the cake was phenomenal.”

“We planned our wedding with Aline and Melissa and everything was perfect. They even worked with us to make sure our timing and lighting would be great in the barrel room for our ceremony. Both Aline and Melissa helped us figure out vendors (including porta potty!) that would work for the space. The space itself is perfect- gorgeous historical castle! Bourbon barrel room? So dreamy and exactly what we wanted to celebrate our marriage, and our time in brooklyn. We had friends go over earlier to help the KCD team set up. Everyone was so helpful and understood what we wanted for our wedding day. The entire team was responsive, helpful, and cared about our plans. Due to some of the liquor laws the distillery works within, Melissa helped us find the perfect beer and wine. We did a cocktail testing before the event to decide on what we’d serve. Anything we would have picked would have been awesome - but we decided on a strawberry bourbon smash and the old fashion. The bar tenders were amazing. Our day was so perfect, and the staff really made it possible. I want to do the same wedding again and again.”

“This wedding venue is beautiful and has a spacious parking lot which is convenient for Brooklyn. There were so many appetizers and the guests really enjoyed their food. Richie Jr. is THE BEST person you could work with (easy to talk to and knowledgeable) and trust to handle all of the details. For example, we didn’t initially like the cake with the bakery they worked with but they spoke with them to custom-make it to our taste so it was delicious. Plus my husband is gluten free and once we provided the gluten-free bread crumbs, Richie worked with the chef to make some appetizers work for him. The packages were also really reasonably priced and it came with valet parking, doorman, hostess, master of ceremonies, maitre d’, head waiter, etc. They have multiple event rooms (the second floor is also going to be renovated in 2022 but I wish they would take the old red carpeting in the Patrician room - where we were since it is outdated). In the Patrician Room, we did have placement issues with the TV and cold sparkler machines so my advice for the couple is not to have the DJ in the back corner, have them closer to the dais on the right or left hand side so the lights and other tech will be worth it and if the cold sparklers are in the back corner, we can’t take pics with it but if they are in the front they set off the fire alarms so I hope this doesn’t happen with the other event rooms in terms of layout. The ladies restroom/powder room is really nice but the men’s restroom is outdated and painted green so it could use an update. But amazing chandeliers and there is also a small garden by the side area in case people want to go out for some air. Overall, you’ll have a great wedding planning experience and it’s an affordable venue with good food.”
