The Estate is a one-of-a-kind historic wedding venue set on 12 serene acres in New Haven, Connecticut. A restored 1804 mansion holds centuries of character create an exceptional setting for celebrations that feel timeless and deeply personal. With the property exclusively yours for the day, The Estate offers endless opportunities to create a bespoke celebration from beginning to end. The historic mansion hosts cocktail hours, hors d’oeuvres, or intimate indoor receptions for up to 150 guests, while elegant parlors, a vintage-meets-modern bar, and two private wedding suites provide welcoming spaces for gathering and pre-ceremony preparations. Outdoors, The Estate’s sailcloth tent seats up to 200 guests for dinner and dancing beneath soaring peaks and warm bistro lighting. Ceremonies often take place on the Great Lawn or at the edge of the vineyard, with a bocce court, fire pit, covered pergola, bluestone terrace, and the century-old Pub House adding character throughout the grounds.

The mansion, built in 1804, accommodates up to 150 guests for cocktail hours, hors d’oeuvres, or an intimate indoor reception. It blends centuries-old craftsmanship with contemporary comfort, serving as a beautiful canvas for your celebration. On the first floor, a vintage-meets-modern bar and elegant parlors provide inviting spaces for gathering. Upstairs, two private wedding suites offer a relaxed setting for pre-ceremony preparations, each with a full bathroom and refreshment bar.

The Sailcloth Tent

Outdoors, the sailcloth tent seats up to 200 guests for dinner and dancing. With three soaring peaks, warm bistro lighting, dining tables, bentwood chairs, and a dance floor, the tent is both celebration-ready and easily styled to suit your vision. Ceremonies take place on the Great Lawn or at the edge of the vineyard. The Pub House, a century-old outbuilding with a reclaimed wood-and-brass bar, is a natural spot for guests as the evening unfolds.

    Bride

    The estate exceeded our expectations in every way possible! The owners and planners were extremely easy to work with, and made everything we wanted possible. The property itself was beautiful and landscapers were there the morning of our wedding making sure the landscape and leaves were all cleared. Everything went very smooth from start to finish, and the staff were extremely helpful throughout the entire day/night. The staff were professional and so so nice. I wish I had an excuse to have another party at the estate!!

    Phenomenal venue and team

    My wedding at the Estate was absolutely perfect - Ashley was such a pleasure to work with and I could not have asked for a more perfect venue. All our vendors, including photographer, DJ, and catering, all remarked on how the Estate had thought of everything to throw the perfect wedding. Our photos have come out so beautifully. It's such a wonderful venue and Ashley made sure our day went off without a hitch. I would 1000000% recommend this venue - the property is absolutely stunning and they have truly thought of everything to make it the best place to get married.

Yes, our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main entrance, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and an ADA compliant bathroom.
Yes, we charge a corkage fee of $10 per bottle for wine and liquor.
You can hand-select the caterer that fits your style and budget. Working with a caterer allows you to create customized menus that incorporate your personal ideas and the latest trends. We have a list of Preferred Caterers from which you may choose. You also have the flexibility to use an outside caterer should one of ours not suit your taste or budget, provided they meet our insurance and licensing requirements.
You are welcome to use the wedding suites at The Estate on the day of your wedding. Wedding suites include a private bathroom with a shower, dressing room, sitting room, mini fridge, coffee/tea station, and a hair and makeup room. A safe is also available in the wedding suite for you to keep your valuable belongings while you are onsite. The Estate is not responsible for your personal items, so please use the safe while you are onsite.
The fee is based on a six-hour event plus one hour for set up and one for take-down, making eight hours total. The fee includes the use of the mansion & grounds, a sailcloth tent, tables and chairs for 150 guests, hospitality baskets in the bathrooms, a bathroom attendant, and parking. Additionally, The Estate provides wedding suites where the wedding party can get ready and keep their personal belongings for the duration of the event. The Estate also provides an Event Supervisor to ensure your event runs smoothly.
