Without a doubt, Hotel Cerro is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding. My fiancé and I decided to plan our wedding to coordinate with our anniversary month and didn’t take into consideration that it was…3 months away. Haha! However, Hotel Cerro and their event planning manager, Jessica, made the experience as stress free as possible. The ceremony space is located on their second floor terrace. You are welcomed by a lush wall of greenery and glass paneling that gives you a view of the beautiful fig trees on the first floor. Across the terrace, is a full length glass wall that opens into the dining area where we had our reception. The space is intimate and inviting with exposed brick walls and windows that look down onto Garsden St. When touring the venue, Jessica was warm, friendly and easy to talk to which instantly took away some the nerves of the planning process. She took the extra time to get a feel for what we wanted for our wedding and offered suggestions of what we could do with the space. The fact that we didn’t have anything planned and a short timeline didn’t seem to phase her at all! She made it obvious that although we didn’t have a lot of time, she was going to keep us on track and get everything planned with us in time. During the tour we saw that the hotel also has an upper level pool area, “Fig Veranda” and an edible garden which are all perfect areas to do wedding photos. Each area has a different feeling to it and it added variety to our photos without having to go all over town. Plus, we had so much fun running around the hotel with our photographer the day of! Throughout the planning process, Jessica was responsive and made sure to keep me updated on due dates and what the next steps were for the planning process. If I had any questions (and I had a lot haha!), she made sure to get me whatever answers I needed quickly and offered multiple options if there were any. Their preferred flower vendor delivered us beautiful arrangements and set them up before the wedding which allowed us to focus on getting ready. They also had our personal flowers delivered to our room and sent photos of the table set up as a “sneak peek”! We stayed at Hotel Cerro for the weekend of our wedding and was pleasantly surprised by how luxurious our loft room was. It had more than enough space for our friends to visit while we got ready and took us about 5 seconds to get to the ceremony area. The staff was very welcoming and seemed to be just as excited as we were that we were having our wedding there! The wedding day was everything that we could have dreamed of and more. The ceremony space was set up on time which allowed us to put out decorations, the floor plan and day of time line was followed exactly how we had planned and the reception dinner was delicious! The staff was also extremely friendly and attentive to everyone during the event. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Cerro if you’re looking for an intimate wedding venue. With the help of Jessica, the planning and execution of our wedding day went as smoothly as one could have hoped for and allowed us to truly enjoy our special day without additional worries!

They really did a wonderful job with our brunch reception! We picked Granada mainly for the unique look of the space and it was a great price for the brunch option. Rochelle was so great to work with! She answered all my questions and concerns promptly and with professionalism. The team really stepped up as the person who was going to set up for us canceled the morning of, so Rochelle took charge and had the team assist putting decor up. Our reception went perfectly. The weather even cooperated and we were able to sit outside on the patio as planned. We cannot wait to visit again for brunch! I can't say enough good things about The Backyard on Thirteenth! We held our wedding reception there in April 2021, and it was an absolutely perfect experience. From the very beginning, owners Rus and Amy went above and beyond to help us prepare. Planning a wedding is always stressful, but we were doing so during COVID, which added a whole extra layer of complexity. We also lived about 4 hours away and hadn't even seen the space in person before booking. Rus and Amy's communication, flexibility, and genuine care made us feel completely confident in our decision. The venue itself was everything we wanted and more. It had a private, laid-back atmosphere that was exactly the vibe we were going for. It wasn't just a beautiful space; it also offered fantastic beer and wine! Since our wedding, we've returned to The Backyard on Thirteenth for other events, and it truly feels like a home away from home. It's a special place, and we're so grateful to Rus and Amy for making our wedding reception so unforgettable. I highly recommend The Backyard on Thirteenth to anyone looking for a unique and wonderful venue.

If you’ve ever driven the oak-tree-covered stretch of Highway 101 between Templeton and Paso Robles, you might recognize the bright red ‘MOTEL’ sign overlooking the Salinas River. Like its neighbor, River Lodge was eventually slated for demolition too, until now. Nomada Hotel Group (the company behind downtown’s newly restored Farmhouse Motel) has completed a labor-of-love that preserved the iconic property’s original ‘Googie’ architecture while elevating the guest experience with modern amenities and features. Boutique by design, nostalgic by nature. Reality ends here.
