About this venue

Swallow Creek Ranch, a 600 acre cattle ranch is located in the quaint beach town of Cayucos and is the only wedding venue on the central coast of California that offers ocean view ceremony sites and a historic reception barn. At Swallow Creek Ranch we provide the blank canvas for the day of your dreams and allow you to shape your celebration as you see fit. You’ll have access to our venue for the entire weekend which makes for a relaxed affair. You will also have your choice of two ceremony sites; the Hilltop Amphitheatre and the Seaview Meadow, each with their own unique atmosphere. The party continues with cocktail hour in the barnyard beneath our bistro lights followed by a reception for up to 200 guests in our historic blue barn. Elegant or organic, rustic or modern… the scene is set, the ranch is your backdrop. Make your vision come true!

THE SEA VIEW MEADOW

SeaView Meadow is a peaceful space for nature lover's who want to enjoy an ocean view surrounded by majestic Eucalyptus trees and a colorful garden!

This tranquil spot, alongside Swallow Creek, is lined with native Monterey cypress trees as well as majestic eucalyptus, both habitat to the Monarch butterfly. This location has views of the ocean and can be used as a ceremony area or cocktail hour area with the convenience of being adjacent to the reception barn.

The SeaView Meadow comes with rustic wooden bench seating for up to 150 guests plus an additional 50 natural wooden folding chairs.

THE HILLTOP AMPHITHEATRE

Breathtaking sweeping views where the rolling hills of the central coast meet the sea!

Our hilltop amphitheater provides a breathtaking natural backdrop for your ceremony. A ceremony stage and guest seating look out over the ranch and its rolling hills towards the Pacific Ocean and the panoramic coastal terraces of Estero Bluffs State Park. Also a favorite location among our coupes’ photographers for golden hour photos!

The Hilltop Amphitheatre offers breathtaking ocean views for a one of a kind wedding ceremony. Chairs are not provided and must be rented. Professional shuttle transportation is required to access this site.

THE HISTORIC DAIRY BARN

The historic blue barn is an enchanting space for dinner and dancing! The drapery and lighting create add to the elegance of this reception space!

Built in 1863, this enchanting blue barn was the heart of the dairy until the 1940's when ranch production shifted to beef cattle because of a long drought. Milk producing cows need a lot of water! Fully retrofitted, it still retains its historic character. It can accommodate up to 200 guests and features 4,700 square feet of inviting space for your celebration. It includes a dance floor, modern wiring and lighting, three handicap accessible restrooms, a custom wine barrel bar & propane heaters.

    Simply the Best

    We could not have asked for a more beautiful experience at Swallow Creek Ranch for our daughter and son in laws wedding!   Jonna was absolutely amazing. She was so communicative, accommodating, and clear about all of the rules and expectations. We were able to come look at the venue more than once, and every time we left feeling confident that everything was going to be exactly as promised. They truly delivered on every expectation we had. The vendor list they provided was also such a huge help and made the entire planning process so much easier! They let us run with all our fun ideas. And then there was Lindsey, the wedding coordinator. She was incredible! She was personable, professional, accommodating, and somehow managed to pull together all of the little details that made the day feel like an absolute fairytale.  As a mom, there is nothing better than seeing your daughter, her new husband, and the entire family so incredibly happy. Swallow Creek Ranch gave us the most beautiful setting and an amazing team to help make such an important day everything we dreamed it would be. We are so grateful for Jonna, Lindsey, and everyone at Swallow Creek Ranch. If you are considering this venue for your wedding, I cannot recommend them enough. They truly care, they communicate, they deliver, and they make you feel taken care of from start to finish. A beautiful venue, an incredible team, and a day we will be thinking about forever!!

    Swallow Creek Ranch Forever Has Our Hearts!!!!!!

    We got married at the beautiful Swallow Creek Ranch at the end of May, and we are absolutely still soaking in the weekend. All of our vendors were amazing, but the venue itself, and especially Jonna and Reid, are the ones we are still talking about and gushing over! During our very first tour of SCR with Jonna, we knew it was the spot for us. The unique and jaw-dropping blue barn, the history of the property, the ocean views, the beautiful natural landscape, and the energy of the space were unforgettable. It was everything we had dreamed of for a Central Coast wedding. Not only was the venue a perfect match, but Jonna made choosing SCR a no-brainer. She and Reid made the entire planning process feel light, fun, and so authentic. We appreciated every part of our experience and truly cannot stop talking about how positive and special our time at SCR was. Swallow Creek Ranch will forever hold such a lovely and special place in our hearts. We feel so lucky that we got to celebrate our marriage there!

    Swallow Creek Ranch is THAT venue

    Swallow Creek Ranch is THAT venue - the one that has it all! From the moment we drove onto the property for our tour, my husband and I felt the magic of Swallow Creek Ranch and that feeling continues and is something we reminisce about even today months after our wedding. After touring several coastal venues, Swallow Creek Ranch was our last stop and we both left our initial tour with Jonna knowing this is where we wanted to start our lives together as husband and wife. There is something indescribable about the property itself, but also the caretakers of this gorgeous space, Jonna and Reid. From the moment we began working with them, we felt at ease, supported, and like we had an extra set of wedding expert friends helping us pull our vision together. We got married in early June 2026 at the Seaview Meadow and it was more breathtaking than we could’ve imagined. This venue captured our love of the ocean, wildflowers, and the natural beauty of the Central Coast. So many of our guests asked how did you find this place because they were equally blown away by its splendor and peaceful energy. If you’re fortunate to select Swallow Creek Ranch as your wedding venue, you’ll be met with the kindest humans guiding you, a soul touching backdrop, and a choice you won’t regret.

    ABSOLUTE PERFECTION.

    My husband and I got married at Swallow Creek Ranch in November this year, and the experience was nothing short of perfect. Jonna, Reid, and Kyla are easy, professional, and FUN to work with. They helped make every aspect of our day run effortlessly, and made us feel taken care of even from the first tour we took. We're still receiving praise from our families and friends about how stunning the view at the hilltop was, and just how special the property is. I cannot recommend this venue enough. There are so many difficult decisions when planning a wedding, let this one be the easiest one you make!

    A Cayucos Gem

    Thank you Swallow Creek team for the most amazing wedding weekend. We loved every second of our wedding at Swallow Creek Ranch. The Seaview Meadow was a magical ceremony location and we had creative flexibility to turn the barn into a garden bistro. Easy to work with, fairly priced, quick responses, oceanside and ocean views, commitment to sustainability - what more could you want!

Yes, the original creamery has been renovated and lovingly renamed as the hen house. It serves as a great place to get ready, it has a full bathroom with a shower and a mini fridge. We also have a 1969 Airstream trailer as a "hang out" space. The Airstream is a blast from the past. We set it up with corn hole, wine barrels & bar stools, a vintage cooler plus a mini fridge, blue tooth speaker, and the ocean views are incredible! It is separately located so that our couples can each enjoy privacy while getting ready.
In accordance with local noise ordinances, amplified music must stop at 10:00pm and guests are asked to vacate the ranch by 11:00pm.
We have a fun and eclectic inventory of props that can be incorporated into your wedding decor, some of it left over from the ranch’s dairy farming days.
Yes, we require couples choose one of the wedding planners from our preferred vendor list. We have 7 to choose from. Wedding planners are essential to a relaxed, organized and seamless event. They are worth their weight in gold!
