Our Story Hello everyone. We are Matthew & Penny Garofalo, a husband and wife videography team based near Pittsburgh. We met during our time at Kent State University, fell in love shortly thereafter, and have been enjoying life together ever since. We married in an intimate elopement on the first day of Spring, 2018 and not long after celebrated our marriage among our closest family and friends. When we aren’t filming, we enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and snuggling our cats, Doug & Momo, and our pup, Halle.

Maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic haha (My guilty pleasure is Hallmark movies, once I walk in the room with it on I have to see how it ends!).

I’m a wedding photographer based in Columbus, a city that I fall deeper in love with as I grow older. As an adventurous soul, I’m drawn to the stories of wild love. Love so uncontainable that you want to shout it from the rooftops. Making a human connection with you and your partner is the most important part of my job, photography comes second. Instead of doing the whole awkward, and quite frankly, tiring client + creator shtick, let’s cut the bullshit and be best friends instead. I have spent years in hospitality, fine dining, IT support, you name it. And the most important through-line in my work has been relationships. Relationships you make with people are sometimes more important than the job you do, not to dismiss the job as something to be sloppy with, but to say there is only so far that accomplishing the job can make a person feel seen and heard and special. And I feel there is no more important nod to that philosophy than weddings, where sure you can just make a wedding film and it will look good, but to truly get this once in a lifetime event and art project something TRULY special!

My name is Mitchell Gaston, and I love telling stories. I began my filmmaking journey all the way back in middle school (which is further back than I care to admit), making silly videos with my friends. Somewhere along the line I got a chance to film a wedding, and I haven't looked back since. Meeting amazing couples and getting to tell their stories is, and continues to be, a dream come true.

My name is Chief and I'm the founder of Chief the Creator. This business came about from my passion for shooting and capturing stunning imagery. I started out with photography but soon found a stronger passion for videography. I love creating cinematic videos and being able to capture all of the most important moments of your big day and turning them into a beautiful, telling love story. While I have gravitated towards videography, my wife Amanda has fully taken over the photography aspect. Her love for photography and her ability to connect to our clients is unmatched. Together we love capturing and creating beautiful photos and videos.

After freelancing over 9-10 years as a Wedding Cinematographer and Photographer, I have finally achieved the dream of opening my own studio. I came to the states in 2015 to get my Masters in International Business but fell in love with the art of capturing light. Since then, I’ve never looked back. We are Mark and Courtney, New Jersey based Cinematographers, and now married couple. In the last almost decade we have been a part of many beautiful weddings in NJ, NY, CT, PA, The Berkshires, etc. Our journey as filmmakers started when Mark was asked to capture a few of our friends' weddings. After some time and a BIG push Project 8 was finally created. Project 8 was named after the town Mark was born in the Philippines. Naming our small business Project 8 is special to us because it always reminds us of our humble beginnings.

In Fall 2006 we first picked up a camcorder and sat down at a brand new editing computer. We found ourselves spending more and more hours after school editing to build the perfect football highlight film. Creating a high-energy recap blended with the perfect song. We understood how to keep students excited and laughing at the great moments. We stumbled on to something! After graduating from high school Darius later attended Robert Morris University and graduated majoring in Finance. For Darian went to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh majoring in visual effects and motion graphics.
