“We cannot recommend Said highly enough! He is incredibly professional and responsive to all our questions. It was clear from the start that he knew exactly what he was doing. Said took the time to ask all the right questions to truly understand the specific vibe and music we wanted for our wedding. He managed guest requests well (we didn't want everything to be played, and he did a fantastic job filtering through them so we only heard the music we actually liked). On the day of, his setup was fast, the sound quality was excellent, and his lighting made the dance floor fun. Our biggest priority was keeping people on the dance floor, and Said delivered. The floor was packed from the first song until the very end of the night! “Where do we even start! From the very first email, Colin was such a calming and supportive presence throughout the whole wedding planning process. Anytime I had a question or worry (which I had a few), he was right there with reassurance and quick answers - even when I’d email him late at night, he somehow would respond within minutes! That kind of responsiveness and care meant so much to us, especially in the week leading up to the wedding with things get hectic. He went above and beyond for our rehearsal, helping us run through every detail and setting up mics and speakers so efficiently that everything flowed seamlessly. It gave us such a peace of mind knowing he had everything under control. On the wedding day, Colin handled two complete sound setups - his wireless one for our outdoor ceremony and his main for the reception - and both were absolutely flawless! The sound quality was perfect the entire day; guests could hear every word of our ceremony and every speech crystal clear. There wasn’t a single hiccup. Then came one of the biggest surprises of the night - cold sparks! Colin and my husband had planned them without me knowing, and it was truly one of my favorite parts of the evening. It made our first dance feel straight out of a movie and the photos from that moment are unreal. If anyone is on the fence about adding cold sparks - DO IT! You won’t regret it. The Photo Booth was a huge hit with our guests! Colin recently upgraded with a printer which people were obsessed with being able to take home their photos (a little built in favor). It kept guests entertained all night long and added such a fun, interactive element to our reception. What really stood out though, was how Colin and his wife (who was his wonderful assistant that day) made everything so personal. They were professional yet warm, blending right into the crowd and truly feeling like family celebrating alongside us. “The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

“Overall, we had a good experience with our DJ. He arrived on time, was professional throughout the evening, and kept our guests on the dance floor for most of the night. That said, I did spend a lot of time carefully selecting songs that were meaningful to us, and I was a little disappointed that many of those selections weren't played. Some of our requested songs were included, but I had hoped more of our playlist would be incorporated into the evening. The only other issue was that, just before our grand exit, he approached us to mention that he hadn't received enough food. We had paid for a vendor meal for him, so I wasn't sure what had happened, and it didn't feel like the best time to bring it up while we were in the middle of such a special moment. “Our wedding day experience would not have been the same without Derek! He went above and beyond in making our day special and tailored to us. We gave him songs for the ceremony and he made them his own and added his own flare making them unique for our day. He also played live for our cocktail hour where I received several compliments from our guests. Finally he was our dj for the reception helping to announce our wedding party with enthusiasm and kept our guests packed on the dance floor all night. I would recommend Derek 100 times over! He was so easy and smooth to work with and an absolute joy to have. He even worked with my wedding party to record a song they wrote to surprise us with. Jack Boatman is a Milwaukee native with an extensive background in music. He obtained a B.S. in Music Education from Case Western Reserve University in the spring of 2018. He prides himself on being an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, having played the violin for over 20 years and picked up several other instruments along the way, including guitar, drums, bass, and banjo. Jack has been DJing weddings and school dances since the spring of 2015. He is not only a skilled mixer and request manager, but an engaging MC who can lead any special dances or activities you have in mind.

“Soundfire DJ did an exceptional job with our wedding on July 11, 2020 in Door County. The detail and hard work that was put into our ceremony and reception was really what put SFDJ above any other wedding DJ I have experienced. Shawn was excellent with talking to our guests and staying open to schedule changes throughout the night. He kept in contact with me throughout the entire wedding and was super fun and brought a great energy! Tyler’s music was amazing. I loved that he fused a bunch of songs that we requested together to make it more fun. He read the room and would play slow songs or fast songs at perfect times. Requests were always granted and they had an awesome selection of songs available. I loved that we were able to make playlists beforehand with their easy-to-use website. I also appreciated that we would get monthly emails with general wedding reminders of what is typically done that month during wedding planning. That was super helpful for myself who did not hire a wedding planner and had zero experience with planning events. SFDJ truly helped make our special day absolutely perfect, regardless of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since our wedding in 2020, we have been to several weddings of our friends and family that used SFDJ simply because of the experience they had at our wedding!
