We used his planning app to create a custom playlist which made the night so fun! He smoothly transitioned song to song which is something that I really appreciate! He had everyone dancing all night long! We also opted to have the Photo Booth at our wedding! It was a HIT! Everyone had so much fun taking photos, the quality of the photos was also so impressive! The lighting made everyone look beautiful! We have so many fun keepsakes to look back on! The attendant was very sweet and helpful to all of our guests! “This band plays an incredibly large range of music; from reggae to disco to hip hop. They are good at what they do and they look good while doing it. This is one of the few bands I've seen that wear suits and other costumes instead of the usual jeans and t-shirts. They have a sophisticated lighting rig to bring color to the stage. By far the most important quality of the Doc Ellis band is their ability to read and hold an audience. They know how to get people on the dance floor and how to keep the party going. “The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

Jeff’s process is both thoughtful and intentional. Our interview with him was a guided conversation that provoked a lot of thought in what we wanted in our wedding. “We booked Spike Events for our October wedding and Spenser was absolutely amazing! We had several meetings beforehand and he was on top of every concern we had. We had a wedding at a private residence outside, so electrical needs were tricky. Spenser was thorough in what he needed supplied from us and we were able to get the right electrical needs for both his sound system and the two arcade tables we rented. He also was such a fun personality to have around and added so much to the party! We have so many great photos of everyone up and dancing due to his skill of keeping things fun! He did a great job following our timeline and was very helpful in adding to it as needed when we weren't sure how to schedule things such as first dance, cake cutting and parental dances. We had aunts and uncles that I've NEVER seen dance, out on the floor tearing it up!You would not regret hiring this company! “HiMotive Entertainment & Photobooth did a great job keeping our wedding reception fun and upbeat. While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. We'd recommend HiMotive to other couples looking for an energetic DJ.”
