Hi! I’ve been a wedding DJ for over 20 years, working with several DJ companies and serving as a resident DJ at a local venue. After seeing so many weddings filled with smiles and happy tears, I knew it was time to start my own company, dedicated to creating even more unforgettable celebrations.

I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with Bachelor and Master degrees in music. I started my music career as a piano teacher. During that time, I learned to play the harp, which was something I always wanted to do. I fell in love with the harp’s beauty and sound and have been playing ever since.

Neil Ponthier was fifteen when he got his start behind the booth in 2009, filling in last minute for a middle school dance when the scheduled DJ couldn't make it. Armed with his dad's speakers and an iPod, he played the set, and never stopped. Raylynn came into the picture too, together since May 2011, married March 2026. She cheered him on at his very first events and has been his biggest supporter since. DJ 6th Sense is a native of New Orleans, LA. He has always had a passion for music that feeds the soul since birth. His earliest memories of deep musical inspiration were riding around with his uncle on Sundays, while listening to old school music. 6th Sense served in the USN for 10 years where he was blessed with the luxury of hearing a variety of different styles of music from different places, which translates to his unique spin on being an open-format DJ. After school he worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the steel industry for 5 years. Living in New Orleans fueled his passion for music, and in April 2017 he left the steel industry to pursue music full time. His inspiration ranges from jazz, funk, soul, rock, blues, and much more. His diverse experience and fun loving character helps drive the focus of Sunny Side while still allowing time for several other music projects.
