Hi! I'm Nina and I run Ivy & Quartz photography! I shot my first wedding in 2013, but my journey with photography began long before that. When I was about 10 years old, my dad gave me a camera and I quickly became obsessed. My intrigue continued to grow over the years and I went on to earn my BA in Studio Art , Photography, from the University of Virginia. After graduating I worked as a portrait photographer and decided to pursue and earn my MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Hi, I’m Yelitza (Je-lit-sa ... don't worry! I got you). I’m a photographer, wife, nurse, fur-mom of three, new avid hiker, and a pretty darn good baker; and I’m here (dramatic pause) to tell your story. I found photography my freshman year of high school (I needed some credits in a pinch and this was it), three days in class and I was in love. Fast forward a few year (hey! hey! not too many years... Watch it! lol) and I'm still just as in love as that third day.

In 2003 I began my career in photography with the Maryland Film Office in Baltimore and photographed my first wedding in 2004 with my sister-in-law. I was in love! In 2007 I decided to go full time with wedding photography. I moved out west to apprentice with veteran wedding photographers in Las Vegas and Los Angeles to master studio lighting and posing techniques. I began working full time as a wedding photographer in Annapolis under my own company in 2009. Since then, I have met hundreds of amazing couples. When I'm not photographing a wedding, you can most likely find me on a mountain or the Chesapeake Bay with my family...camera in hand.

Mike began his career in the U.S. Marine Corps serving 4 years active duty, most recently as Photo Chief at HQMC Combat Camera. After being honorably discharged, Mike went on to study at RIT where he earned his MFA in Photography & Related Media. Mike is a nerd with a curious heart and a passion for telling your story.

Technically my name is Alexandra, but my friends all call me Alex. I shot my first wedding in 2015- and immediately knew I had found my calling. Now, with four years of experience under my belt, I still pinch myself that I get to do this as my JOB! Pinning the boutonniere on your dad, reminding your bridesmaids to remove the hair ties from their wrists, and maybe even jumping on the dance floor when the Cha Cha slide comes on (it is my JAM.) Photography has always been in the family; my mum has always been fascinated by pictures and she ensured she had a camera (small ones) as often as possible. My professional journey, however, started over 4 years ago. I started by photographing my wife for her blog, next, the kiddos, and then moved on to events, weddings, and studio photography. From a young age, I've had a vivid imagination and a love for storytelling. I would capture everything I saw in my mind, using those images as the backdrop for my stories. This passion eventually led me to pursue a degree in Film and Photography. After graduating, I spent a few years as a volunteer missionary, traveling across the country. These travels allowed me to broaden my photography and filmmaking skills by experiencing and capturing diverse parts of the world. During this time, I also began photographing weddings and portraits, quickly falling in love with this aspect of my work and continuing to shoot ever since.
