I am a full time award winning professional photographer born and raised in the Annapolis area. I photograph just 30 weddings per year, and I have photographed over 300 weddings in my 11 year career as a wedding photographer. I am truly passionate about creating images that my couples will love and have to look back on years and years from now and to share with future generations. I strive to be best friends and fierce cheerleaders of my couples, because you should not only love the photos your photographer produces, but also love the person behind the camera.

My love and passion for photography began years ago when I picked up a camera for my high school's newspaper. I fell in love with capturing people and moments, and I knew immediately that I was going to college to study photography and I started dreaming big. After graduating from Towson University in 2012 with my B.A. in Art + Design: Photo Imaging, Christa Rae Photography, was born.

    Incredible

    From our first conversation with Christa Rae Photography, we knew we'd made the right choice. Communication with Christa and her assistant Bri was smooth and fast throughout the entire planning process, which made everything feel effortless. Beyond taking photos, they went above and beyond on our wedding day—helping me fix and bustle my dress, adjusting pocket squares for my husband and groomsmen, and capturing every moment in the most amazing way. Their talent is truly incredible, and the photos are exactly what we dreamed of. Christa and Bri felt like part of our wedding party, not just vendors, and we couldn't be more grateful for everything they did to make our day special.

    Will always recommend Christ

    Christa delivered us everything we wanted and more! From the start, Christa was organized and communicative about everything. We got to know her during our Engagment photo shoot and were excited to work with her then and at the wedding. She helped us figure out our day of timeline and how photos would fit into it since we were planning on doing a first look and knocking out ALL of the immediate family portraits out of the way… and there were 140 photo combinations we wanted due to us both having 3 siblings each and divorced parents. Christa and her second photographer captured these photos ALL before the ceremony even started - plus a few additional photos we love but didn’t initially have on our shot list. We picked Christa based on her style and editing and we are more than pleased with the products. We have gotten back our full gallery and there are SO many photos - it’s going to be very difficult picking our favorites to hang around the house without overwhelming the walls . All of our friends and family love the photos so much and have even asked who our photographer was. We will always recommend Christa!

    OBSESSED

    My husband and I were so happy with Christa Rae Photography for our wedding day. Christa's communication was professional, quick to get back to us, informative and friendly throughout the planning process, which made her a joy to work with. The quality and value of her work was amazing - she has a classic style that results in gorgeous, timeless photos. She was friendly, solved any minor problems that came up, and gave us wonderful memories of our big day. Christa made us feel comfortable and kept things fun, while working within our church's strict rules to capture stunning images. She's just the best - we will certainly be using Christa Rae Photography to document all of our future big life moments and can't say enough good things about her talent and professionalism.

    June 2024 Wedding

    Booking Christa for our June 2024 wedding was our easiest and BEST decision in the wedding planning process! We had seen Christa's beautiful pictures and professionalism as a photographer from two of our friends' weddings in 2021 and 2022. We new we wanted to book Christa as soon as we got engaged! Christa was unbelievably helpful in answering our questions and giving us ideas in terms of engagement shoot locations from the start of the process. Christa was so quick to answer all of our questions and was truly so amazing to work with! Christa beautifully captured our engagement pictures and our wedding day. She provided us with sneak peeks of our pictures within 24 hours of our engagement shoot, and 48 hours of our wedding day! That is just something you don't see very often! We would recommend Christa a million times over to any couple looking for absolutely gorgeous photos from their day!

    Amazing Experience with Christa!

    Christa was one of our favorite people that we met through planning our wedding-- from our first call with her, to our engagement photos (in 40 degrees for the cherry blossoms, no less!), to our wedding, she was calm, assured, motivating, organized, and just a wonderful human being. And her photos!! We were blown away when we received our gallery-- she captured every emotion of the day so beautifully, and we are forever grateful to have those memories. Also something important to us was that she had experience with diverse wedding parties-- she captured everyone in our wedding party perfectly and true-to-complexion (from pale to deep skin tones, nobody was washed out!). Thank you for providing us with these beautiful memories for many years to come!

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
My editing style is true to color, which means your photos will not be edited with a quick preset that changes the colors of the images to express a certain tone, mood or style. I edit in a timeless and authentic way so that all skin tones are correct and so that the colors of the florals, dresses, suits, etc. that you have spent so much time deciding on will be as they were on your wedding day.
I describe my photography style as authentic, classic and romantic. I capture a mix of both candid and posed photos throughout the day. I'll give you prompts and directions when needed to create beautiful moments between you two for portraits, have FUN with your wedding party, perfectly place each family member, and then I let the rest of the day unfold in front of my camera.
