Having been a bridesmaid in other weddings, I knew first hand how a photographer can make or break your day and knew Gabriella would be firmly on the 'make' side. She is diligent, kind, and oh so much FUN. I don't want to give away all her tricks but she will make you feel so special from start to finish. She goes above and beyond to accommodate special situations in families (the good, the bad, and the ugly), not to mention all the impromptu things that come up within the wedding process and on wedding days. One thing I can't recommend enough is her podcast, The Busy Bride. She is now engaged herself and doing a series on her wedding process which I am jealous I didn't get to listen to before our wedding but can't wait to enjoy her journey from the listener end moving forward. What we wanted from a photographer was simply someone who would capture what was genuinely rising to the surface on our day, and Gabriella did just that. My husband was likely the more nervous of the two of us to be emotional in front of others and when the day came, it was not an issue at all. I think this is partially testament to how much he trusted Gabriella. “When I say I searched high and low for a photographer with vintage style editing like Tara, I mean it. I spent months and months looking. She was always on my radar but was unfortunately booked for our date. After lots of contemplation and talking it over with Tara, we decided to go the route of having a “sub” photographer shoot the day and then Tara would do the editing herself. WOW did that work out for the best. The photographers that came for day of were two INCREDIBLE ladies, one I was highly considering when I found out Tara was booked, the other is now my business brand photographer. If you go the other route—book first, learn about the style later—you may end up with photos that don’t match your vision. We came to Carrie after our first photographer disappointed us. She has more of a documentary style with less of an emphasis on the awkwardly posed photos. However, she will still go the extra effort to get an amazing poses shot if you ask. “I found Janine with Vow2Vow through Zola. I was drawn to her style of photography because I felt like she edited photos in a natural way. We scheduled a phone call and she was so warm and answered all my questions. As the wedding day got closer, I gave Janine my list of preferred shots. She managed to get every single shot!! I should note that I did not have a wedding party so that freed us up for portraits during the cocktail hour. All night Janine was unobtrusive while still managing to get the shots. She also did a great job of keeping an eye on the timeline and moving us swiftly along so we were able to enjoy the night. My husband and I were leaving for our honeymoon the day following the wedding so Janine managed to quickly give us some sneak peaks to hold us over until the final album was edited. I also have to mention that Janine was able to get good photos of my toddler children and manage to make us all look good despite the hundred percent humidity. We will cherish these photos forever!”
